Blackheart the Inciter Tastes Legendary Wrath

“Damh and Trigity please come help us!” comes the call from our new Guild Chat-and-Vent Governess, Jazzy. She’s on Blackheart the Inciter with a guild rogue and a pug pally when the rest of their party quit. Legendary’s Main Tank Tiggy and I get summoned and, after farming a few shards for our ‘lock, we try Blackheart.

We wipe.
Again.
Again.
And again.

Something’s wrong. The healing is just not right; a 70 pally should be able to keep our tank up between the mind-control sessions, but he’s not… and he’s totally running out of mana.

Jazzy, I whisper, your pug pally just sux, I’m sorry. I don’t think we can do this without a guild healer.

He doesn’t sux, Damh, he’s Ret.

Jaz… we’re trying to do Blackheart with a tank, rogue, hunter, lock and a RET pally healing?

Damh, he’s said it like 5000 times. It’s not his fault he can’t heal well enough.

Before I mull that over in my mind and come out with a sarcastic-but-accurate answer, the pally says, That’s it; I gotta respec. I’ll be right back. Let me borrow some gold from a friend and I’ll go holy again.

Now the attitude of the pally I have liked so far, just not his healing. Also, he is unguilded and another holy pally would a great addition to the guild’s arsenal. But before I can offer him gold to respec, our rogue does. The rogue has to go, but here’s some money, go get respecd and consider joining our guild if you take Blackheart down.

Wait. I’m the GM; isn’t that my line? Heck, if the other guildies wanna recruit that hard, we must be doing something right. It makes me smile.

So the rogue drops, we ask the guild for a replacement. Riddyck, another fine guild hunter is ready and able, so we take him quickly. Pally respecs, we gather our forces, and try Blackheart again.

Poof. Down he goes, first try. Pally didn’t let Tiggy’s health drop below 50%, and he still has half his mana left. And he commented on how cool Misdirection was, so that stroked the ol BRK ego.

(Riddyck and I alternated using Misdirection to get Tiggy more instant aggro after the mind-control sessions. Come out of mind-control, smack the Misdirection macro, Steady Shot and Arcane Shot Blackheart, and to Tiggy he trots where she tanks him like the pro she is.)

We have two plate-ers, two mail-ers, and a clothie, so predictably Blackheart dropped leather. Blizz really needs to fix that mechanic of the game. Serious, I had a 16 gold repair bill, I cannot image what Tiggy’s was, and all the time and effort we expended for a stupid shard.

But we got Dudels, our new Holy Paladin, in the guild, so we actually got the best loot ever… since my last instance where we got Sweetevil (Jazzy’s WoW-Warlock-Twin) to join.

I wonder if BRK has anything to do with this?
