BM hunters will shine on trash mobs. MM hunters will shine on Boss mobs. BM is fine for 5mans until you go heroic. MM is superior for 10+ and raids IMO, but only because pets can’t be used as much.

Now set the damage meters to count pet damage separately. ;)

I can tell you from past experience that Hobbes’s contribution to my total damage is usually 38-42%.

Keep in mind you’re also benefitting from Trueshot Aura. Your Ferocious Inspiration probably dosn’t aid the Marks hunter as much as his buff helps you. Though admittedly that doesn’t account for the huge difference in DPS. I’m curious what shot rotation you use as a BM with Aimed Shot.

Just FYI, Shattered Halls gets much easier once you have the non-heroic high-end instance drops (Eg, Tempest Keep, CoT T3a/b etc)

My guild has no healers. We cannot run those instances ourselves.

But, with the help of our guild Friends, Serenity and Warrior Corps, we hope to get to go soon. :)

Heres the real thing I am seeing you are touting BM over MM ove rone single talent which increases white dps. Serpents Swiftness. Now dont get me wrong I’ve specced BM and you will (pet included) out DPS a marks hunter in a 5 man more than likely. Now enter mobs that cleave/aoe/aura (heroics on) your pet just wont work. And yes you have a 20% haste effect but you will not see the white dps a marks hunter will see let alone increased dmg on special attacks due to the AP difference. BM is cool but you won’t be helping a guild clear kara+ specced that way.

I can’t imagine anything more pointless. The beastmaster comes with his beast. It’s a package deal.
