A Discrete Brown-Wrapped Package and a Letter
The BRK Mail Bag and Discreet Package Receptacle has a nice, simple question for us. No formulas or screenshots required. Let’s see how efficiently we can answer this one, shall we?
“My question is; does Improved Hunter’s Mark apply to your pet or just to other players?”
Improved Hunter’s Mark question, dear readers. Let’s take a look at IHM and see what it says, shall we?
Interesting, but it doesn’t really answer the question, does it. Apparently, we need to go back to the Hunter’s Mark tooltip and see what it says:

So, if Hunter’s Mark increases the ranged attack power of all attackers by 1500, then Improved Hunter’s Mark (5/5) increases all melee attackers attack power by 1500. And that means All Attackers; it is not limited to you, your pet, the people in your party, or the people in your raid. If all of Ironforge attacks a single IHM’d target, they all get +1500 attack power.
Two Words: Swa Eet.
Edit: I though it was patently obvious that the +1500 attack power was a fake, (only lasts for 20 seconds kinda lets the cat outta the bag too, doesn’t it?) But just so I don’t get crucified in the comments, here’s the real tooltip.

Um its not 1500 AP!!
those are the two best words ever.
Yeah Damh, we all wish it was 1500 AP!!! Well at least all of us hunters do, everyone else would be screaming for us to be nerfed even more.
Wow I’m so honored! A whole post based on my email. I’m definitely switching to IHM from IAoH. I dont get a stun out of it that often and when I do, who cares? Plus Yang will enjoy the chance to tear a larger new orifice into his target.
Thanks
Just wanted to throw in that I confirmed this in the most scientific way possible… I let the pet attack, then turned on HM and saw that the little yellow numbers got bigger.
I wonder, though… now that pet’s dps scales with our attack power (and their own, of course), do they get a double bonus? I believe pets get about 20% of our AP. So does hunter’s mark give them 110 AP against the target and another 22 AP because our AP is being boosted, too? I’m afraid that would be a bit harder to judge just based on the numbers.
I recently switched to BM, and have been having a lot of fun with it. I’m not 70 yet, though, and put more than the min. 41 pts to get TBW, so I need one more lvl to get my Aimed Shot back. I’m very anxious.
I’ve been under the impression that it doesn’t effect your actual RAP per se, but the bonus is applied as part of the attack. I could be completely wrong tho, still learning all the math on this. =P
Work well for Snakes trap too… each snake get 110 AP.
That attack power boost can go up to 440 now with the new hunters mark. Enjoy!
Im responding to stormwraths comment
“That attack power boost can go up to 440 now with the new hunters mark. Enjoy!”. I was under the impression that Imp. Hunters mark caused only an increase equal to its base attack power and does not increase with the new Hunters Mark.
