On the bottom of the BRK Mailbag and Junkmail Vortex, stuffed among the offers for stock tips, Vegas poker tricks, and personal requests from Mrs Evequeencool in Cote D’Ivorie, was an actual human asking a simple, yet pertinent question.

Is it a good idea to keep my pet from the start or should I change my pet?

If you were to train a level 10 bear and get him up to level 60, then went to Winterspring and trained a level 60 bear and got that bear’s loyalty to Best Friend, and trained them with the same talents and spells, the two bear stats would be exactly the same.

As hunter pets, a bear is a bear is a bear. So in that sense, “upgrading” your pet isn’t recommended.

Trying different pet families is another story. BRK recommends you try as many varieties of pets as you can. Do your research and find out what special animals there are and make a note to train them at the appropriate level.

There is a spider in Terokkar Forest that is a 64 elite, Deathskitter or something, he is unique and gorgeous. But BRK never saw him until he was level 70. Had I seen him at 64-65, I would’ve pounced on it to tame and try it out. Now, it’s just to late… {sniff}.

    I tried Deathskitter Damh.. You may thank the gods that u didn’t tame it.. It has an ANNOYING sound.. and when I say annoying I really mean it.. I couldn’t bare it for more then 3 min. It simply scratches ur brain with its sound, growl, and all.. Besides, it shrinks to approx. 1/4 of its original size.. If I remamber correctly there are 2 pictures in my gallery of him, right after I tamed.. U can check it out..
    Cats are MUCH more better.. hell.. even turtles are better pets than Deathskitter.. =)

    The Ramones do have a song titled “Animal Boy”, yeah… ok… But the song isn’t as important as the album of the same name. +1 for the song, the Album would’ve netted +3.

    Animal Boy included “Love Kills” which was a tribute to Sid Vicious, and followed the album Too Tough to Die, their last highly-acclaimed album.

    if they would only add about 50 slots to the stables i would have every pet there is…

    as for keeping your pet i don’t even remember what my first pet was but it is cool to still have your first pet when you hit 70 but you need to remember to put him in the stables and catch other pets to get better attacks since you cant get then from a trainer….

    yes ardus, i’ve been researching and taming as many other pets as I can to make sure that all my pets trainable skills are gleaned off of the beasts of the world. recently though i’ve been using the boar from the blasted lands, Ashmane Boar, since he came with gore (rank 7) and charge (rank 5). That plus he’s a fairly decent tank. The only thing I really hate is any time I PvP he seems to always get targeted first! could it be because his name is PwnYou?.. He gets more DoTs from locks than I do.. lol
