Professions? Can Ya Get More Boring, Blizz?

So the preview of the upcoming profession changes have been posted. I’m sure Kaliope is gonna cover them in detail; we won’t steal her thunder. But BRK has to put his spin on them, right?
Alchemy
* Elixirs now stack in two categories, Battle (Offensive) and Guardian (Defensive) Elixirs. You can only have one of each type of Elixir up at a time. As a result Elixirs now stack with class abilities such as “Arcane Intellect.” If you are a double gatherer (herbalist and mining/skinning) your profits are gonna soar due to the 2x increase in demand for herbs.
* Four new defensive elixirs have been added. Two are on trainers, one is in Halaa and one is in Cenarion Expedition. Too bad no hordies will be able to make the Halla elixir, or is Madoran the only server were Halaa is Alliance-owned 24/7?
* “Flask of Petrification” can no longer be turned off during its duration, but it now will clear all threat from all monsters for the duration of the effect. Though monsters may reaquire you after the effect ends. A flask you cannot unbuff from yourself? Are we reading this right? Does it make sense? Bueller?
* The cost to purchase Imbued Vials has been reduced. BRK is glad he’s not a vial-farmer.
Enchanting
* Enchant Bracer-Spellpower had its primal costs reduced slightly. As a mote farmer, BRK is outraged.
* Enchanting recipes that increase spell damage now also increase healing as well. As a mote farmer, BRK is thrilled.
* The “Major Defense Bracer” enchantment has been moved from Ethereum Researchers to Ethereum Nullifiers. What? Whatever.
Engineering
* A recipe for “Frost Grenades” and the “Icy Blasting Primers” needed to make them are now on engineering trainers. That’s a big help. Pfft.
* Engineering recipes can now be placed in engineering bags, as can engineer made fireworks. Fireworks! Those will help BRK get through Karazhan. Pfft.
* Many engineering recipes will now give skillups for longer than the previously did. Seeing as how some recipes were yellow for 1 use, green for 1 use, then gray, this isn’t saying much.
* “Seaforium” now opens locked chests as well as locked doors. Hahaha! Rogues get nerfed!
* The Poultryizer and Nigh Invulnerability Belt now cause mishaps less often. BRK thought the mishaps were the reason people went Engineering in the first place, no?
* The Goblin Rocket Launcher cooldown has been reduced significantly. Unless it’s a MARS, BRK passes and remains unimpressed.
* 11 new epic goggles have been introduced at 350 engineering skill and are available from the trainer. They range from cloth to plate, and have a variety of stats to appeal to most talent specs. Is there a Cyclops-model for fire mages? There better be. Those vending-machines need something other than that disgusting Whitemane’s Chapeau model.
Fishing - This counts as a profession? BRK should delete this this outta disgust.
* The fishing timer has been reduced from 30 to 20 seconds and it now takes less time to fish. Hey, that cuts into my napping time.
* The fishing timer can no longer run through its duration without a fish biting. Hey, that eliminates all the skill from fishing… wait…
* Fishing has been removed from Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley. OMG, some of my favorite PvP stories involve AV fishing. /cry
* You can now fish in Underbog. /cry
Jewelcrafting
* The jewelcrafting UI now has gems split up by color so it is easier to find gems of a specific color to create. Now make the AH work the same way, and the other 90% of the players will give a cr@p.
* A number new gem cuts to existing gems have been added to the game. Included among them are a spell hit gem and more multi-stat gems that have attack power on them. BRK gives a Growl of Approval for Attack Power Gems. Gimme.
* Jewelcrafters can make two new melee oriented meta gems. One is found randomly as a world drop and the other sold by the
* Thorium requirements for most recipes has been reduced. You Thorium farmers can apply for WoW Unemployment at the nearest Tabbard Vendor.
* Prospecting now always yields at least 1 gem. Overall, the amount of gems received from prospecting has been increased. The number of Malachites on the AH is gonna explode. Pfft.
* New recipes have been added that use the Jaggal and Shadow Pearls. BRK laughs in delight that all those crappy things clogging up his bank are gonna get sold.
Leatherworking
* Skinning higher level creatures will give more leather; you will no longer get a single leather scrap. BRK is a leather farmer and blows kisses to the programmers who will implement this.
* “Knothide Armor” kits now require less leather to make and give skill increases for longer. BRK is a leather farmer and f@rts in the general direction of the programmers who will implement this.
* Leatherworking made primalstrike set now has an attack power set bonus rather than a strength set bonus. BRK like attack power, but isn’t sure he can use it, so will withhold our praise/contempt until such time as it is warranted; our /scoff is on hold.

I believe the primalstike set is an Elemental Leatherworking Epic BoP set. Unless you wanna drop one of your gathering professions and power level LWing for an incremental AP boost, I’d let loose that /scoff of yours.
Oh yeah.. and since it’s Elemental (not Dragonscale), the pieces are leather. Even if a Hunter took the plunge and picked up some leather pieces, we BMs would lament the loss of pet armor, too. Mostly a feral druid and rogue set, and according to a poster on thottbot, the change was in response to the different equations for AP (1STr=2AP for Feral Druids, but only 1AP for rogues).
I’ll second the imminent scoff.
On Detheroc, at least, Halaa used to be bugged and only controlled by Alliance. Recently it’s been much more evenly distributed.
The fishing changes should help those annoying fishing quests in Auberdine too.
