New PTR Update? This Tuesday It Comes
And now, direct from the mouths at Curse-Gaming:
“One of the major changes: the “World of Warcraft PTR Patch 2.1.0″ was changed to read “World of Warcraft Client Patch 2.1.0″ and the link directing you to the patch notes on the WoW website was changed to reflect it being a patch release.”
But aside from the renaming, there is one important - to us - change, too.
Kill Command: This ability will now still work even when your pet is out of your line of sight.
Apparently the command isn’t a hand signal but a voice command. Let’s hope they don’t chance the mechanic to depend on how noisy the combat is. Like if you’ve got a warrior and a holy paladin in your party, their plate clanking around reduces Kill Command’s effective radius by 20%.
And for all of us, including the lesser classes, there’s this gem:
Stackable items retrieved from mail will automatically stack in your inventory.
About f-ing time. Sheesh.

Could. Not. Agree. More.
Woohoo! After starting to help with our guilds banker accounts, I cannot tell you how annoying it is to take something out of the mailbox and have it not stack!
Here are some others worthy of note:
Dodge Rating: Low level players now calculate dodge from dodge rating at the same rate as level 34 players.
Just Say No! to 75% dodge rogue twinks (yes, before evasion)
Motes of Shadow now primarily drop from void creatures and have been removed from nearly all demons
Why do I care? Well, where do most motes of shadow come from? How cheap is shadow on your server? How much will it cost after this go live? Anyone else see an opportunity for profit?
You are now able to right click a player name to report them to GMs
Make no mistake - I will report you if you feel the need to talk about your sexual organs on the trade channel or advertise for a gold site. They just made it easy for me, too.
Jaggal Pearls & Motes of Shadow will litter the auction houses across all realms for the next few months. Try to hold out if you can.
Can’t wait till the patch - I’ve heard that kara can be 4 manned ^^ -I like your blog btw and have linked to it from my wow blog - Wow Blog If you like mine I would greatly appreciate being added to your blogroll
Thanks

Could you clarify this? What do you mean? I can’t remember what the change is to Pearls and Shadow drops should be dropping. Are you just expecting people to take a while to clear out the inventory?
There’s going to be new JC designs that actually use the Jaggal Pearls, so the demand for them will skyrocket. Everyone will try to dump their stockpiles as soon as they can, but the flood of supply will quickly cause the price to bottom out. It’ll eventually stabilize, so if you can’t sell your pearls for a high price, wait for equilibrium. Supply is currently high and demand is zero. Demand is about to go up, but probably not enough to immediately counteract the incredibly high supply. In this market people will try to gouge right away, but prices will quickly drop because of undercutting wars in the AH. They should then stabilize fairly quickly (probably around the same price as primal life/mana/water).
In the case of Primal Shadow, supply is very high compared to the demand (which is plenty high in its own right). This is why you’re seeing Primal Shadows go as low as 50s each. However, supply is about to get a huge cut, so the relative demand will be much higher. The actual demand won’t change, but because the supply is going way down, the prices will go up. In this market, prices should climb as people realize they can charge even more, so it might be better to wait for the price to rise to a good level.
::points at Dave::
Yeah, what he said.
Ok.
That’s what I thought, too. I just think I misinterpreted something. I’m planning on holding my shadow (now have 5-6 stacks of primals that I’ve picked up for cheap) until a couple weeks after the patch. I figure stockpiles will be liquidated by then and the price will have climbed appropriately high.
Prices have already started to climb on my server in anticipation, and cheapest primals are now around 2g.
Update:
Surely prices wouldn’t change that much after only one day in 2.1.0, right? By the afternoon of the patch, Primal Shadow hit 10g. By that evening, it was pushing 25g.
Makes me very happy. =D
