More Karazhan, More Uber-DPS, Still No Gear
Finished the Theater Event, couldn’t finish Curator. Legacy dropped, but there was another hunter was with us and he won the roll.
/sigh
We got the snot beat out of us tonight; we were the most-damaged non-tank. Don’t know why, but we also got the fewest heals besides the three healers themselves and the rogue.
The Raid Leader was astonished at our damage and we got a promotion to full-time Raid Member.
Respect from our peers vs. Phat Loot. Hmmm…
Edit: See the other hunter, Laurayle? He is our guild’s Hunter Officer. He just respec’d Beastmaster after that Kara run.
“Damh, your gear is ok, but I’ve got Kara gear and you destroyed me in the meters. Can you get on vent and give me a few pointers?”

I too eye Legacy. I just wanted to again thank you for this awesome blog. You have single handedly chenged my experience in wow. I have also “enlightened” many of my hunter friends who were stuck in level 60 mm hunter mode.
It is great you are in KZ, as are may of your readers (dare I say the majority). I look forward to seeing which drops you value and why.

Ok So my guild runes 3 karazhan groups. I been in group 2 since I joined like a month or so I been in this guild. Group 2 is kinda not getting anywhere while group one already even killed the prince :(. We were talking in the forums what we could do to fix our problem and then the leader noticed theirs 2 huunters in our kara run. So we get their and they make us roll to see which hunter goes. I win and I go and it was so sweet with Moroes I kept that target chain trapped so amazingly and im like guess what im no Marks or trap spec everyone kinda gasped that I was BM and pulling 300dps throughout the whole time im so freaken happy!!! My didnt die once woooot

I respecced my hunter the way you posted yesterday, I was already Beastmaster, but had less in MM. So far I am VERY pleased with the spec.

I’m getting a bit worried, if we go on like this we are going to have 99% of the hunters respec to BM… this way is less fun for us :))

Remember that 72% of all hunters are MM. It takes a lot of convincing to make someone switch out, especially those “raiders” who think MM is the DPS-spec.
Specifically, it takes a BM hunter in all blues to slap down 200,000 more damage than a MM hunter in half-kara purples to convince some.
Excalibur, have your raid leader look at this blog. Let him see the Cold Hard Facts stack up. Let him see Death and Taxes switching. Let him read the comments, like,
“OMG BRK, I’ve been MM since beta and I just switched to BM and my dps is insane!”
Our new guild let us bring our pet in our first Kara run as a joke; we think it was to teach us a lesson.
Lesson learned, right?

F-yeah lesson learned I’d say :). Though, just read my guilds new rules and regs on raiding..and it aint pretty (check it out =/ )
If anything I may have 0% at convincing letting a BM hunter in when I come back..

Let me reiterate one of my points… AGAIN…
Hunters are a RANGED PHYSICAL DPS class.
That portion kara allows ANY hunter of any spec to get ahead on the charts and stay there. It favors the class, not the spec.
Think your damage is good now? Fight your way to Aran. Spell casters can’t do much along the way.

In his comparison, I’m pretty sure he’s focusing less how he topped all the casters, and he’s focusing more on topping the Hunter CO that’s wearing epics.
I’m thinking the Hunter CO of that guild is probably fairly experienced, and he seems better geared than Damh, so I’m of the belief that the difference in spec is probably playing a large part in the difference in damage. Clearly, the CO agreed enough to respec.
