We’re doing boat-loads of damage in Khaz and we’re dumping lots of pet heals, so we’ve decided to run with Aspect of the Viper for a while. During Curator last night, we ran out of mana even after quaffing two superior mana potions.

Also, we’ve been farming our Sha’tari Skyguard rep by murdering Arakoa by the thousands. When we can see the Talon Priests, we’re taking on three, and sometimes four, of these guys - invisible and regular - at a time. It sure would help if Hobbes were a little stronger defensively in these situations.

What does these situations mean? Improved Aspect of the Hawk is gonna go away. Remember, IAotH will only proc if you have Aspect of the Hawk active. Without it, IAotH is a worthless talent. So, while our current spec is very high DPS, we’re gonna throttle it a bit by running AotV and dump IAotH. For that sacrifice, we’re gonna buff our pet a little to handle the Skettis questing we’re enjoying.

This new spec is not a “better” spec, but a “different” spec built for our specific situation.
The five points from IAotH have gone to 3/3 Thick Hide, Bestial Swiftness, and 1/2 Bestial Discipline.

Why Bestial Discipline? Because we’re gonna run Growl a lot. In Karazhan, we have it turned off 99% of the time. In Skettis, it’s always on and we need that Focus to turn Hobbes into a better tank; something he is not used to being.

Could we have done without Bestial Swiftness and gone 2/2 in Bestial Discipline? Sure. Would we argue against such a spec? Nope. But we love speed here at BRK; the faster something dies, the less chance it has of killing us first.
