My Elune, We DO Need Patches!

BRK » 07 June 2007 » In Patch, Pets, Talents »

We get The Big Patch 2.1.0, then they sneak 2.1.1 on us after a few days. So now get ready for Patch 2.1.2 and it’s handy-dandy mixed-bag of hunter fixes:

Fixed bug with Misdirection where sometimes only two attacks were redirected instead of three. From what we’ve read and experienced, “sometimes” really means “all the f-ing time”, but we’re glad it’s getting fixed PDQ?

Entrapment: This talent will no longer causes Hunter to stand up or stop eating and drinking when it procs. WooT for Entrapment, we guess.

Improved Mend Pet: This ability will no longer cause Hunters to stand or to interrupt eating and drinking. Now that’s spiffy, that is. Two critical hunter-bugs squashed in one patch.

Poison Spit: These abilities will now appear in the correct order in the pet training menu. Spider lovers rejoice! All three of you, rejoice now, d@mnit!

Scatter Shot: This ability will now trigger Thrill of the Hunt. 0/21/40 Survivalist hunters give a nod of thanks. All three of them.

Thunderstomp: These abilities will now appear in the correct order in the pet training menu. AH! Don’t mention that one! Run away!

There’s more non-hunter stuff too. If you care, here it is.

As an actual spider lover, I’d love it if our little friends got poison spit, but it’s a serpent ability.

Poor damh. There are only two serpent lovers.

well you are at 94,579 visits, number 100,000.00 should get a vacation to Las Vegas or at least a free BRK T-shirt

as for patches they need to make it so if a hunter does not use his pet for more than 3 hours game time he becomes a rogue

it kinda breaks your heart when you are running with a hunter you ask were is your pet and they say “pets are more trouble than they are worth” all you can do is shake your head and try to get them to go visit BRK….

Spiders? I think Serpents get that… I wish Spiders had a poison ability… but Blizzard is too damn lazy with their pets.

HAHA… my confirmation word was ‘tinyt’

Funny that they are fixing the mend pet thing now even though I reported it back on the test realm over a month ago.

after seeing those new spider models in the bloodmyst? areas I really wish they were more useful/utilitarian as pets.

I’ve been leveling my Priest lately and am hitting instances like Mana-Tombs and Crypts. Every group I have done I have had a Hunter that doesnt understand basic trapping techniques. I end up whispering them a couple tips and viola they start trapping like they should be. After they thank me I always tell them to check out BRK’s blog for more info on the Hunter class.

On another note…I saw that one of the comments on the last BRK WI article said to ignore BRK and to get Hunter info from a “real” source like the WoW Hunter forums. I literally spilt coffee on myself from laughing so hard.

Just making the rounds this morning!

I have been using MD successfully for the last week, without ANY problems like I had when the patch first came out. Other hunters in our guild are reporting the same thing, as quickly as MD was broken it seems fixed again.

I open with aimed, multi, arcane on the pull.

In combat I use steady? Multi? Arcane but have to admit sometimes I get lazy and an auto shot slips in.

I had no problems using it last night, or for the past week and a half. I’m not saying it’s not broke, I just think it’s weird and not happening nearly as much as you guys are reporting. STILL if it is happening it needs to be fixed, no matter how much it’s effecting even a small amount of hunters.

I MD in combat a lot more these days…

On another note.. Misfit, I think you will find if you can read through the trash in the official forums there are plenty of posters there more educated in hunter mechanics than there are at this website.

I agree Guy, but sifting through the trash and trolls on the WoW forums is unbearable making the process of finding accurate and meaningful information not worth my time.

HAHA, just noticed it…welcome to the club man.

You stay on your side, I stay on mine…we should be fine. If it gets warm around you just blame it on the SV Hunter who didnt spec in EW.

  13. Guy on June 7th, 2007 6:41 pm

Please.. Only a hybrid would do that.. Not a SV…

PLEASE GAWD TELL ME A SV WOULDN’T DO THAT!!!

You’ll never catch me without Expose Weakness, that’s for sure.

I figure it could use a buff, though… the +attack power is nice, but Ferocious Inspiration often beats it out because it affects magic damage too.

And spider pets should seriously be given a ranged single-target root, like many of them have before they’re tamed.

Bears… maybe go like the opposite of the Wolf’s +damage howl… make it a short duration AoE armor buff or something, or an AoE Growl. Give these two long-ignored pets new abilities!

Improved Mend Pet is still bugged.
