Thundering Skyfire Diamond

So we chucked a TSD into our Beastlord Helm and have been watching to see its effects. When it procs, it sounds like our pet’s Dash spell. It was quite disconcerting at first; we thought we were bugged.

Whent the TSD procs, we get a buff. Here’s a pic of it:It’s about to fade-out, but you can see that its the same icon as the Serpent’s Swiftness talent. Very appropriate.

So when the TSD procs, what happens to our stats? Here’s a shot of that:Please ignore the fact that we’re an orc and concentrate of the attack speed. Our Telescopic Sharprifle has a normal attack speed of 3.00 and with nothing but the Beastmaster spec and a TSD proc, we’re pushing 1.77 - without Rapid Fire or trinkets.

The duration of the proc is small. It doesn’t proc all the time. We’re seriously considering the meta gem that give +12 agility and +3% to crit damage, but a good chunk of our cash is tied up in an auction for a pair of Leggings of Beast Mastery.

gratz on the helm.. bout time you got a beastlord piece.

i got my helm on my first run in mech… i got BOTH my legs and shoulders on my third run at wherever it drops.

my chestpiece? for that awesome kill command proc? ya i wanted that bad… i ran botanica 70+ times.. have not seen it yet.

anyhoo… i personally went for the attack power and increased speed meta gem… increased speedis quite noticible especially when chasing down unsuspecting foes in pvp.

Doesn’t the increased attack speed mess up your auto-/steady shot rotation?

That’s a pretty sweet gem but I’m already having a hard enough time to keep my normal shot rotation up when IAotH procs.

I have the 24ap/minor run speed gem, mostly because I’m not willing to use two blue gems required for the 12agi/3% increased crit dmg meta gem.

I cannot ignore the fact that you are an orc. The rest of the article is just a blur. Fading blur.

    Sorry.

Elitistjerks seem to think this thing procs about once a minute. How often are you finding it crits?

  9. Joe on June 24th, 2007 7:52 pm

Thats me above, should read how often are you finding it procs.

After about 90 minutes work, I reckon that if the 1 proc a minute is correct, then this gem is ~2.2% better than the other one.
This is assuming you were sitting there only doing auto, and Hobbes was napping.

    So current gem ftw.

Me surprised, me thought you dwarf, but me find out you Orc. We long lost brothers?

Ah the speed gem only procs off autoshot? I remember comparing the gems and choosing the 12agi/3% crit one for a reason (not based on solid mathematical evedince mind you) but couldn’t remember what that reason was. Maybe this was it.

no, it should proc of any melee / range attack - for simplicity i only used auto-shot in my workings
