We Tried, We’re Guildless, But Richer
Sufficient to say that we tried to convince the guild leadership that the guild name wasn’t showing us all in good light, but they disagreed. Short story, we left the guild quietly.
And then, our Phat Loot Karma kicked in!
So that’s a piece we’ve been really hoping for. It give us that wonderful four-second reduction in our traps cooldown. And it’s spiffy! So where does that put us now?
RAP above 1700, DPS approaching 315, and our crit above 19%. We’d smoke a cigar if we had one; we’re thrilled. And how is Hobbes doing with this new gear?
Over 166 DPS white damage, unbuffed, is nothing to sneeze at.
All that’s left now is to decide if we want to join a new guild or not. We’re gonna sit on it and see how things play out.

Well sucks to be sans guild, I suppose. I think you’ll be happier knowing your guild name isn’t so controversial. Nice drop though.

Good for you! The guild name was in poor taste I’m glad you said something. I suggest joining another guild cause eventually I’m sure you will find a home with a great guild name,fair loot system for raids and a big backyard for Hobbes to run around and play in.
IMO not joining a guild because you have been burned before is robbing yourself of an oppurtunity to meet some interesting folks and make new friends on that new server your on.

Well done for leaving the guild. I’m sure the name would be much funnier if you were about 15 years old, but to most other people it’s just plain offensive.

A ridiculous guild name brings everyone associated with it down. It has nothing to do with having a sense of humor vs. PC, as some think… really, it just has to do with what is actually funny and what is not. BRK, you continually demonstrate enough intelligence and dry wit that you don’t need to be saddled with a stupid, potentially offensive guild name. You made a good choice.

At least they capitalized it correctly, though. I saw a guild tag the other night that read “pwnzer kinghts”; all lowercase and misspelled to boot. *shakes head ruefully* Kids today…

So how do you go about picking a guild to join anyway? Just find some friends and join up with them? Lurk in the realm forums until something catches your eye? Randomly pick a lowbie sitting at the SW AH?
BRK seems to switch guilds every other week, so surely you’ve picked up some super-secret-guild-joining techniques.

Hehe actually his guild jumps would actually prove that he has Not found the secret guild joining technique.
In my opinion your realm forum gives you some insight as to many of the guild out there, as can guild websites.
Best way to find a guild though is to talk to your friends in other guilds and ask them about theirs. That will help you find out what guilds are really like…and you’ll already know someone in the guild who can vouch for you etc.
/cheer to BRK. You did the right thing and I’m glad the Karma kicked in! Good luck finding a new home, but you’re wise not to rush it.

Just stay guildless until you find a really good home for BRK. Seems like you have had 5 or 6 guilds and none have been the right fit.
Better yet, make your own guild called “Eat More Tauren” and all your readers can make lowbies to chat with you! Glorified chat FTW!

We were in our Khaz Modan guild for eleven months, following it to another server, becoming GM and eventually leaving to join a raiding guild.
The raiding guild refused to take us on raids, so we left.
The next guild we were in until we switched servers again to be with friends in their guild.
That guild changed the loot rules so that lower-geared people got dibs on loot, regardless of effort. We left that guild, with a bunch of others, to form SGCSN.
And we just left them.
So we’re guildless until we figure out what we want to do. We may make a resume, we may join our friends in a new guild, we may become a Hunter Wanderer, pugging until the expansion in 2008 arrives.
We’ll wander Outland like Cain. Someone would do a tv pilot and we’d get picked up by Fox. We’d have to dye our beard white, though.

talking about leaving guilds the one I’m in is small but had a good kara raid group. I’m still looking for an arc run to get last key frag but for some reason the whole raid group /gquit wile doing kara and i haven’t herd a word out of the guild leader
so i don’t know if i want to find another guild and run out on the guild leader or stick it out and see if he gets new people
i haven’t been in the guild long but the guild leader seems like a good guy him and another guy loaned me 150g to get flying mount so i could could run through arc with them(to bad i didn’t have my second frag then)

Adrus, sounds like one of two things happened: the raid leader or guild leader blew a gasket on a bad attempt, or there was a massive loot dispute. Neither are signs of a guild you want to raid in very long.
But I wouldn’t consider leaving until I’ve paid back that loan.

BTW if you start your own guild (hint, hint) I just made a level one lady Dwarf hunter on your server, and would be proud to sign your charter, and would even leave then if you wish, because I am not an uber player, just a pretty good, mostly solo player.

Massive congratulations on your new gloves. I have personally run SH 64 times now for those gloves with no success, but I’m always happy to at least know that they exist.

i had the loan payed back in 2 days and i was just kinda thinking along the same lines the guild leader had to do something bad to get 14 people to /gquit in the middle of kara so if any one reading this from shadowsong server that knows of a good raid guild let me know =P

you know talking about your ranged dps being almost at 315 while uder an area pvp buff is what most people woud call cheating.
