Is There Anything Left?

BRK » 22 July 2007 » In Gear »

So we got our nice Heroic Bot boots and are trying to figure out what’s next on the list of BRK Goodies We Want. This required some WoWHead research and some pencil scratching. What did we find? Bad News, that’s what.

Outside of Karazhan, there’s very little left that we want. Just how little? Let’s run through the list of heroics alphabetically and the epic gear we’d like to get:

Heroic Auchindoun: Auchenai Crypts - zilch

Heroic Auchindoun: Mana-Tombs - nada

Heroic Auchindoun: Sethekk Halls - bubkis

Heroic Auchindoun: Shadow Labyrinth - OK, besides the [Sonic Spear], Murmur drops the [Girdle of Ferocity] which would be an pretty thing to fondle and caress. The thought of trying the 6-pack pulls before Blackheart gives us pause, though. We’d have to have crowd-control out the ying-yang, we think.

Heroic Caverns of Time: Old Hillsbrad - zippo

Heroic Caverns of Time: The Black Morass - a[Glinting Fire Opal] is not reason enough to do this heroic.

Heroic Coilfang Reservoir: The Slave Pens - whole lotta nada

Heroic Coilfang Reservoir: The Steamvault - super-bubkis

Heroic Coilfang Reservoir: The Underbog - more nothing

Heroic Hellfire Citadel: Hellfire Ramparts - total lack of anything

Heroic Hellfire Citadel: The Blood Furnace - black hole of emptiness

Heroic Hellfire Citadel: The Shattered Halls - seriously, zipereno

Heroic Tempest Keep: The Arcatraz - omg, still zilch

Heroic Tempest Keep: The Botanica - we just cleaned that out for our new boots

Heroic Tempest Keep: The Mechanar - [Handguards of the Steady] are pretty, but not an upgrade.

Well, that’s pretty sad, isn’t it. What else is there besides Kara? Badges of Justice. What can we buy with these that peaks our interest?

[Bloodlust Brooch] is a definite Yes.

[Warpstalker's Helm] is ugly and not that big an upgrade.

Well, it looks like Karazhan is our future. Our guild ran it last night and took down Big Bad Wolf - no [Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle] - but our newest raiding warlock got some epic pants-o-flame or something. (His pants! His pants! His pants are on fire!)

But Curator smacked us down, which was really depressing as we’ve beaten him handily before. Doom was running with us so the raid’s DPS was nicely increased, but people just kept dying. The raid leader thought it was a mana-conservation problem, and perhaps he’s right; we know nothing about healz.

But seeing as how our path to uberness will be found from Curator onward, we’re going to need our fellow raiders to be better geared. Therefore, BRK is becoming:

The Aetherial Circle Xbow For Hire!

Our own greed is being redirected and we’re going to start helping our brethren and sisteren grab phat loot. Our success in the coming weeks is going to be reflected in the upgrades we help our buddies and buddiettes accumulate. You’re gonna see some bizarre gear posted here in the future: plate, cloth, wands, sledgehammers, lawn darts, bigwheels… whatever it is the lesser classes need, we’re gonna help them get.

Let the phat-loot pharming begin.

Edit: We finally got all the mouse-overs correct. It’s hard to do this when: A) we have no alakazam access, and B) all the mouse-overs are blocked by our firewall. We thank you for your patience.

Heroic Steam Vaults drops the Wrathtide Longbow. That’s a nice, albeit ugly, piece of loot.

Ah, but it’s not an upgrade for us. That’s the key here - not the good stuff these places drop, but what’s worth going after for us.

I think Wrathtide Longbow is better than the steelhawk, in terms of more dps. When I equip it, I get more AP, crit and white damage. Also, the Bloodknight cloak U get from 25 badges is damn nice if you dont wanna wait for the cloak to drop from shade.

Not that it will help you out much at the moment, but I came across a new instance in the Ghostlands. I looked it up and it is a new instance that was made to come after Karazhan, but there is no attunement for it. It has yet to open but you might want to keep your little dwarf ears on the door at WI to see if you might get a jump on it. It’s a ten man raiding instance that I can’t seem to think of the name for at the moment. If you look on the map of Ghostlands it is to the extreme East of the map, past the troll towns, up in the mountains a bit and surrounded by waterfalls. Looks a lot like ZG and is beautiful.
    *bounces with anticipation*
I can’t wait to see it!

Hey BRK - looks like you copied your Girdle code for all the in-line links that follow. Everything is displaying Girdle of Ferocity for me.

    IS THAT MY BIG WHEEL?

Help others get loot instead of only caring about your own personal progress? HERESY, I say, HERESY!

Sindala: That’s Zul’Aman. GameSpot had a preview of some of the new stuff that’s coming soon at E3, and that was on the list (along with Patch 2.2 stuff like guild banks and innate VOIP). Since this is still in development, I have a feeling we’re looking at Patch 2.3 or 2.4 for it.

Also, is it just me, or do [Glinting Fire Opal], [Handguards of the Steady], and [Bloodlust Brooch] all show [Girdle of Ferocity] on mouseover?

The Ebon Netherscale set is looking better and better by the minute, ain’t it?

    :P

We think we’ve fixed the mouse-overs, but can’t test it.

TJ, that’s not your bigwheel; yours won’t have the handlebar streamers.

    Thanks. That’s the one.
