It’s a Bet
TJ wants a [Captured Firefly] and is farming Bogflare Needlers for it. We have issued a BRK Challenge! She shall do nothing save farm for the Firefly, except to empty her bags and purchase consumables, until she surrenders.
Should she capture a Firefly, we shall send her a shiny, perfectly legal, dollar bill. Should she say No Mas and retire from grinding this non-combat pet, she shall send BRK a similar piece of currency.
We think we’ll put the dollar we win in a frame, next to the BRK iMac of Destiny, so we can gaze at it frequently.
Note: We know the firefly is classified as Common, not Uncommon. But the white “Captured Firefly” text was illegible, so we made it green.

I never really understood the fascination with non-combat pets… I don’t know, could be the fact that I think they’re a waste of time/money.
I don’t know who TJ is, but I say go for it. I collect non-combat pets (also called small pets) and so far I’m up to 17. Why do I collect them? For a few reasons, but the main one is because it gives me something else to do in the game. It feels nice sometimes to have a pet that is rare, hard to find, or limited in number.
P.S. I haven’t seen it posted yet, but did someone get picked for the hit counter screenshot yet?
I plan on farming for this pet whenever I get that high in level myself. I just want it because of the show it references too…loved that show.
I’ve been grinding for this pet with my hunter alt for a few days on and off. Still no luck. Since my guild name is Serenity I figure this would be a fun pet to have.
There’s only 1 small pet I really like. Mr. Wiggles from the orphan quest. He’s not really my pet, he’s my pet boar, Snuffles, pet pig.
I’ve had a race between two drops running for some time now - Beast Lord shoulders, and this pet. I’m now 19500/21000 to exalted with Cenarion, and no Beast Lord. I do, however, have this pet!
I only ever farmed in small chunks of time, and couldn’t have been happier than when it dropped. Off to make an attempt at a Heroic SV group. Now the shoulders and the Wrathtide must race one another. I couldn’t care less who wins.
See? SEE? People have it! The low drop rate means EVENTUALLY, not NEVER, just like I said.
Your dollar is mine, BRK!
The low drop rate means Possible, not Eventually.
Should we frame the TJ Dollar or use it to tip our barista? Coffee Karma is important too.
I’m working on this too. Not exclusively, but yeah. I’ve chewed up most of Hellfire and Zang content, so this might be the time where I stop and grind it out.
As the webmaster for fireflywiki.org, I clearly have a motivation for the fan-swag.
where does this drop?
What people will do for a dollar these days…
If you doubt TJ’s tenacity you are sure to lose $1. I’d bet $1 she will get one.
Yeah, her determination shall be our undoing, we’re sure of it.
But until the thing drops, we’re really going to enjoy the TJ-wrath.
hmm…I should transfer so I can spawn camp. I’ll split that dollar with you when she gives up.
Even better, we could hire 15-20 people to run around Zanger and kill the mobs that drop the Firefly. Offer 1000g to the first person who gets one, or something.

How could any self-respecting Firefly fan not go after this awesome NCP? My three last pets (aside from my current two) have been Mal, Jayne and River XD
