New SV Hunter Gets It

Mirshalak’s Lair is two posts old but his post on Survivalist Hunters and their supposed roots in melee combat is very well done. It’s this type of post that would get creamed on the forums but deserves to be read.

Nicely done.

As good a place to put this as any…

Once upon time there was a guy from Chicago.

This guy was born and raised in the capitol of the Midwest and dined on red meat and beer daily.

    Life was good.

One day this guy decides that he needs a change though; he needs to get away from everything he’s known for so long… Clear his head.. get some separation.. and find some direction.

So he moves to LA. The closest one can come to living outside the country but still be in the US. He lives in diversity that was never offered to him before. He learns new tastes and smells. He’s learned to appreciate Sushi. He’s seen the filthy rich and the largest homeless population in the US living side by side. He’s seen gas prices 20% higher and 20% lower than the rest of the country at the same time. He has spent $4.79 on a gallon of milk..

He’s spent time on the ocean, in the mountains, among the skyscrapers and out on the country side vineyards. He’s learned much about life and his place in it.

This self imposed exile, his banishment, was fruitful, but it has come to an end.

August 27th I pack up my car and make a triumphant return to the Midwest. I’ll be taking up residence in just outside of Chicago and starting a new life closer to my friends, family, and the woman I love.

I have much prep before I begin this journey and though I’ll be online a couple of days this week I’ll be spending most my time packing and shipping my possessions or hanging out and partying with the friends I’ve made here over the last year.

I can’t wait to get back to Chicago, so many things I’ve taken for granted and been deprived of this last year…

So life will be in transition for me from Today till about September 3rd. Best of luck with progression everyone and I look forward to catching up with you all once I’ve settled down.

PS: I did enjoy the SV read even if it didn’t really cover our mechanics very well.

This blog had no entries and made me feel bad, so this is what I was able to come up with.

OMG, I can’t begin to count the number of quarters I pumped into the Dragon’s Lair machine!
