Suckers!] and I know you really don’t have much time for crap such as this, [Ed: what does everybody think this blog is, a National Endowment for the Arts project? It's all crap all the time!] but could you please do me a HUGE favor?
“The guy that turned me the WoW addict that I have become is a good friend that I work with by the name of Ling, aka “Stalk” hunter extraordinaire. In fact because of his persuasion he as managed to infect about a dozen of us with the WoW virus.
“Well Ling has been having a fit for the Sonic Spear, his schedule does not allow him to raid so this is probably going to be just about his best weapon in the game. To that end he has been running SL a couple times a week for about three months now. It even got so bad that he made me promise that if we were running SL together, I would have to greed or pass on it.
“Last night Murmur finally dropped the sacred spear much to Ling’s joy. He screamed like my five year old daughter on Christmas day. So in his honor and to annoy the h3ll out of him, I have been getting everyone in the office to congratulate him on the Spear, so far about 30 people, the day is young!! It’s pretty hilarious at this point, he just glares at me and mutters something in Mandarin.
“By now you know what I’m going to ask, would you please send him an email congratulating him? He knows of you and your expertise in hunter theory crafting and it would be greatness if you could just send him a short word. Here is his email: ________@________._____ Thank you for your time in reading this email. Regards, Storin.”
The very idea that we’d help celebrate someone getting a Sonic Spear while we don’t have it or Legacy is an outrage. It’s an affront to all that’s good and decent. We’re not going to email him, call him, or do sky-writing or anything. In fact, we’re going to totally bury any knowledge anybody has of this incident.

You know my Druid did SL this last Saturday to get his first key frag. Sure enough, the spear did drop.
My GF was happy to see it, she needed the shard to get an extra point in enchanting for her mage.

Oh my, Guy…that’s just mean! Bad enough to mention The Spear dropped, but then you add insult to injury by casually mentioning the shardworthiness (I think I should trademark that word) of it?

But then, lucky in loot, unlucky in love.

Not that it makes you feel any better after the comments you have already recieved, but I currently have both the Thrallmar rep spear, and the sonic spear. They are both enchanted with agility, and gathering dust in my bag/bank. Mainly as I have been fortunate enough to get my dirty Troll mits on Legacy.
However, with regards to raiding Kara, it seems I have used all my luck up on the few drops I have. We have now cleared all but Netherspite (including Nighbane) and I’m still as yet to see any ranged weps drop.
All of the other hunters in the guild, now have at least 1 decent Kara ranged wep, some even have 2. So, as you can see, you have the ranged wep luck, I seem to have resonable melee wep luck, just a shame that I’m no melee huntard!!
Nergal - EU Kul Tiras.
Ran Shadow Labs last night. It was a “fun” run just for rep since none of us needed any of the drops. Tank dual wielding, pulling 8 mobs at a time without CC, purposely letting the tank get MCed (which resulted in him fearing everyone into a second pack and getting us wiped, yay!). Random stuff like that.
I felt *really* bad when I sharded the Sonic Spear.
Man I did my share of unsuccesfull runs in SL (way over 20) untill it dropped then a Palladin rolled need and won for it (i dont have to explain what i said to him GOD forgive me..but it was nasty!), but hell I didn’t give up and finally it did drop for me and now it drops on every heroic run i have been to so far. btw i want to take this opportunity to thank BRK for enlighting me and inspiring me so much to become a better hunter. Much love to ya man and do what u do best

As I continue to get ambushed with random “CONGRATS ON THE SPEAR!1!!11!” by co-workers (that BTW, DON’T EVEN PLAY WoW!!!), and by everyone from Vision that has seen me on the past 2 days… I just have to say, the happiness was short-lived.
I have since vendored that cursed weapon, and gone with a Fishing Pole with a self-enchanted +9 spirit. To share some of my new found fame, I have affectionately named it Storinator: Bunny Slayer.

If that happened to me for a weap of this “desire” I’d be on a mission to harrass that guy until I was banned or forced to transfer servers. That’s why, even with pugs, I announce at the start what drop I’m after, and maybe announce again before that final fight starts.
On the flip side, was questing the scarlet guys in WPL the other day with a guilde, and we added another random guy who was killing the same mobs, and sure enough, Crusader enchant drops, and the guy needs on it after I greeded. I give him a word or two, and he actually gave it to me. Too bad too many of these drops are BoP.
I guess I won’t mention the fact that we did back to back runs last night and Murmur dropped the spear both times, and since I already have it, we sharded it both times…

I couldn’t let this go without saying Congratulations on the spear Ling, I for one am glad that it finally dropped for you. I can finally start running other instances, I started to feel like SL was my second home.
