Exalted
Not much else to say. Attumen, Moroes, Maiden, Opera…
Well, we had Dorothy and The Crone for the first time as a guild. [Legacy] did not drop, of course.
And Curator. No muss, no fuss, we dinged exalted with the Violet Eye and got our ring. Oh, and we love our Curator Macro!
/target astral flare
/petattack
/cast Auto Shot
Just spam this macro when an astral flare drops and everything happens automatically.

my opinion …
the pet stays on curator and i throw instant shots(arcane and multi) at the flares … i seem to contribute more that way …. i know,i know … eats a ton of mana but between a SPriest and oil on my weapon plus Mpots when i need, i seem to keep mana up pretty well.

Pre-Avoidance, we put Hobbes on Curator. But with Avoidance and Arcane Resist 2, Hobbes is invaluable against the astral flares.
Our guild takes them down in 5-7 seconds which gives our healers a few seconds between fights to recover or do some extra healing. We don’t lose anybody on Curator anymore.
Grats on Exalted. =/ Sadly, most of my guild hit Exalted while working on pre nerf Aran when he was stupid hard (enough so that crappy guilds would skip him, do Chess, then exploit Prince in the doorway to avoid Infernals). Needless to say, getting the final ring due to wipe after wipe was bittersweet for me.
Putting Hobbes on Curator would ensure more FI procs for your group though right? and 4-5 DPS shouldnt have too hard of a time without Hobbes on astral flares?
Gratz on exalted - and for downing The Crone.
The Wizard of Oz fight is a good test of a group’s ability to execute a plan and work together. We had to try three times before we finally got it right.
My reward was Legacy, but I don’t want to rub it in too much; I know how touchy you are on the subject of very nice two-handed weapons that refuse to drop.
;P
Traz, you’re fired.
Damn! we are on a farming status in Kara at the moment and still no sign of Legacy so BRK I’m with you on this one, I want that damn axe so bad, although Nightbane rewarded us with a nice chest piece the other day which made me and my best mate Wobbly(ravager) very happy, but this piece annoys me for not having any agi. We are just starting Gruul’s Lair and last week we managed to down Maulgar (on our first attempt of the day), me and my other best mate Pinchy (scorpid) had to back down for our Raid Leader to get the shoulder token (A mage btw) as she realy deserved it. We hope for it to drop again soon as we don’t see any competition coming DKP wise to outbid us.
Wiped a few times on Gruul until we decided to call it, this Monday He is going down.
I must admit that I was forced to spec Survival for this fight as I was required to tank kiggler (Me,Pinchy and a Boomkin drood) so I tossed in a 5/15/41 spec to help improve my HP, I do want so bad to go as a BM on Monday but I’m still not confident can BRK or anybody let me know maybe what will be the minimum requirement HP wise set aside nature res. for this fight?
Apologies if this sounds off topic here but I do read this blog everyday so this will be my trusted source of info. from more experienced hunters.

Respeccing for Kiggler? We tank him with 2 huners, any spec. I doesnt matter for this guy.
Re leaving Pet on Kurator: wont the slow speed on sprint cooldown waste attacks of the pet on the adds of the Curator? Until he reaches the adds they are usually down aren’t they?
Our record is downing the curator in his 2nd mana phase
Btw once you did the Nightbane Quest (kill Nightbane and Gruul) you get a nice trinket with 45 arcane resistance. Its enough to lower the damage and only one item so your damage doesn’t get too hurt. No one wears arcance resistance in our raid btw.
The trinket also comes in handy for Voidreaver btw, very nice to resist 30% of the arcane bombs there.
i’m with teut … if u have min 225 NR resist on kiggler ur fine …we even had a hunter who tried it with no resist gear and we had him down to 25% before the rest came to help ….stressed our healer unnecessarily i thought but it was a fun experiment. I also wear about 125 arcane resist and our dedicated healer is very happy with me, as that gives him time to watch the health of the raid …
as for VR, no resists, all dps buffs and we down him with just under 2 min to spare. hint, when u get the ur the orb target warning, do not strafe like some of the video’s tell u to … the orb does not always come out right away and if u strafe, u could get ur raid buddies killed. wait till u see it and then run straight back. gives u time to bandage or heal ur pet if u need to call him back. tough fight on pets btw, lots of healing needed but that’s the price we pay for a fun fight.

Totally off-topic, and shameless self-promotion, but if there is any hunter around that has not yet reached 70 and is still leveling, I’m writing a series of posts on Soloing Instances *for your level*, that is, instances where you still get XP from the mobs. You may not be able to do ALL quests there, particularly any end-boss or such type of quest, but it’s a fun thing that probably only hunters can pull off!
You can find my blog here.
Thanks for your input guys (teut and secndworst) It has given me enough understanding, I believe the nature res glyph from CE, my ravager bands (Wrist) with aspect will help a lot.
Cheers.
Senzagakhona.
Got the Legacy on my first time meeting the crone… Pwned his face… Got phat purplage!!!
I have seen a lot of people talking about the ENS chest, and also season 2 chest piece. Seen way too much talk about them and no talk about the Thick Netherscale Breastplate (Maybe I need my eyes checked?)… It has no MP5 but the stats seem to make it a great piece to have all the way up till you get 25 man drops!! Also the mats aren’t too damn hard to get!!!
