Nightbane Down

No hunter loot, [Shield of Impenetrable Darkness] that we almost had to open GM Ticket to loot, and our guild is now 12/13 in Karazhan.

And then we one-shot Illhoof. Again, no hunter-love. Kara is empty except for Netherspite. Very good week indeed.

Gratz BRK! My guild only recently dropped Nightbane and alas no hunter loot either. Actually I think all that dropped was items that got sharded >_<

    Gratz BRK!
It reminds me of the first time I was in Karazhan and we downed Nightbane and we forgot to loot him for the quest item (Blazing Signet) lol! We hope you did remember hehe! Im still a noob at heart.. what can I say^^.. Anyway it took us at least three kills before I got my Scaled Breastplate of Carnage…and oh yeah we did Maulgar again last night with 24 people in the Raid but failed to get Gruul down again Aargh!…btw we got the shoulder token, doesnt it stink? I think we still prefer the Beastlord shoulder to that demonstalker…

12/13? Are you counting Opera as three different bosses?

    brk,

what exactly is your raid schedule? How many hours per night do you spend in raid?

  7. Zemulos on August 28th, 2007 1:41 pm

Congratz man. Nightbane is the hardest boss in Karazhan, really. And it’s a tribute to your tank to be able to kill him. That fight is HIGHLY dependant on a good tank, but of course any fight is doomed to fail without good dps to match it :) I’ve tanked him 6 times and not gotten that shield
:( But at least I got the plate breastplate.

We raid 3-4 nights per week and try to have two groups going at the same time. We will spend 2-3.5 hours per night in Kara.

We had a very late start last night and didn’t engage Nightbane until after 9pm. It took us four tries, improving each time, before we got him down. Then we one-shot Illhoof quickly, finishing up around 10:30pm

We had two paladins and two mages for the skeletons and d@mn did those guys kick @ss.

The tank did do a good job, and was rewarded with his pretty shield. But even more so The Hunter was perfect with his Misdirections to keep Nightbane from one-shotting anybody when he landed. /flex

Christ, you guys are moving a lot faster than we did. You’ve now pretty much caught up with us, and i think we got the Prince once before you got past the Curator. Well done, indeed. I nearly expect to see you taking out bosses in SSC before us, now.

Yeah, AC’s gone very fast, which probably says something about the quality of players in there (not an ass-kiss), because we unfortunately lost a bunch of weeks due to poor group makeup, poor players, and poor organization. We finally gave up on being carebears and started scheduling guaranteed runs around about a dozen players who are willing to show up every time, and limiting the “impromptu” runs to people who know their head from their ass. We’re only Prince and Nightbane behind you guys, so hopefully, we should be able to clear Kara soon (though what the hell we’re going to do then is not exactly clear, as we don’t have 25 raiders ATM).

merge with another guild or co-run them with another guild … tough to do dkp with the latter but doable.

Yeah, my guildies finished up nightbane last night. Hunter loot dropped.

Unfortunately (or fortunately!) I was doing things in the real world at the time.

How DO you manage loot splits if you co op with another guild for Gruul’s lair or some such? How do you justify watching other PUGged members get loot that your guild has worked so hard to get? What about the tier four token? I am considering this option, so would appreciate a rather detailed explanation. This is my first MMORPG and I run the guild, so I look for advice when I can find it. I’m the MT for the guild, and if for instance I brought in an outside healer, and he rolled against me for the tier four shoulders… I don’t know that I would be willing to lose that piece, you know? And someone who spent weeks wiping and learning kara with me… if someone else wins an item over him because he happened to be available to pug it up… wouldn’t that piss off my guildmates?

Yeah, we did the guild merger route once before and it was an absolute disaster; the merger was dissolved after three or four months of cliquiness, acrimony, and a broken-ass guild management structure. Not to say that it wouldn’t work a second time, but man, I’m leery about chancing it.
