Heroic Shadow Labs FTW!

BRK » 29 August 2007 » In Gear, PvE »

No Kara on Tuesday so the gang decided to take out Heroic Shadow Labs. Not that hard, actually. No wipes until an assassin made an unscheduled appearance during the 5-pack mob pulls before Blackheart. We wiped on Vorpil once thanks to Brigin da Uber Tank being banished and being unable to get aggro back from Tredezar da Crit-Happy Boomkin. But otherwise, heroic SL isn’t bad at all.

Four badges and phat hunter loot, too! No, not the Sonic Spear, perish the thought. But a Primal Nether and this!Ain’t it purty! We’ve had our eye on this for a loooong time. What does it do for us? Well it busts our +Hit all the way to 8.5% for starters. Jeebus, we could go Marksman now. Heehee! As for the rest:We love the fact that our tooltip DPS is over 330 and our RAP is in the mid-1700s. Hooray for epic purplez and phat hunter loots!

/get down tonight

wowwiki to the contrary, I found the heroic murmur experience unenjoyable. How do you find minimum range while staying close enough in to avoid TS?

    Gratz on your epic belt.

I guess you won’t want to make the Ebon Netherscale Belt now. I have the ENS belt and it’s probably about equal to your new one. Hard to say which one is best really.

    Both would be nice… ;)

  8. BRK on August 29th, 2007 1:21 pm

The addon that gives the stat comparisson summary is Rating Buster! /cheer

You dawg, I want that belt! (only ’cause I’m too cheap to pay for the Ebon).

I was able to get through Pandemonium in Heroic Mana Tombs with no problem. He is the void walker/1st boss right? He does something that reflects all damage done to him I think. My grouped wiped the 1st try but after we knew what was happening, everyone just stopped dps and we killed him with no problem. I had more problems with the last boss prince than the 1st one.

  12. Adrus on August 29th, 2007 2:02 pm

    @Anon

The pvp pieces are nice but the issue with using pvp gear in pve is that you generaly are dropping any hopes of a decent mana pool and regen. AOTH for the full fight is a ton of extra dps 11dps or so not counting specials, and tons more if you go ImpAotH. The extra crit on that piece is not going to make that much of an improvement. Get yourself decent regen and become a master of your pot CD.

    Chroma,

There is a safe location for hunters just on the inner top portion of the raised semi-circle ring. From there the “run out” during the sonic boom is a cinch and you are able to stay just outside the melee range and avoid the damaging aura outside of the ring.

    _____

Ebon Netherscale belt is still superior if you have the other two pieces to go with it. The nice thing is you can max out on 4 of 5 t4 pieces (minus the chest) and still keep your set bonus for Ebon Netherscale pieces. It’s probably the best 7 piece combo for hunters until T5 (not including survival as Agil gets a bit gimped). I would still suggest making the ebon’s and going for Helm, gloves, legs, and shoulders in T4. The +20 hit bonus is pretty invaluable in my opinion.

    ___________

Most Heroics have a “Resistance Gear Check” bosses. Mana tomb’s is Pandemonium (shadow). Sethekk Halls is Ikiss (Arcane). Mech - Sepethrea (fire)… well you get the drift. The recommended minimum amount for all raiders is 200+. If you can stack that minimum amount, the fights become trivial. The more you have the easier it is ofcourse. Basically, collect any green resist gear you pick up that are level 68 and up. If you are still short, just head to the auction house and buy them cheap. You can fight these guys in some green gear. If you are lucky and have guys in your guild that can make the FR and AR gears from scryer and Aldor, even better.

Oh, while I’m on the subject of collecting green gears - Mages if you guys have aspirations in going for High King Mulgar, don’t pass up X of the Stamina Gear. You’ll need a lot of stam and you’ll do your guild a nice favor by being prepared ahead.

    Oh by the way…

“Jeebus, we could go Marksman now. Heehee! As for the rest:” - BRK

I knew you always envied us. Thou doth protest too much.

In your blog perhaps you have to tout BM so much, almost like a mantra, to reaffirm that it’s a good build. All in the mean time, I know the truth to be in you that says, “Damn, I wish I can crit huge like a MM….”.

  17. Sonvar on August 29th, 2007 3:27 pm

But is Hobbes past the 170DPS mark yet? Must not forgot about the pet as you need to ask how much benefit did he get from your Girdle of Ferocity.

  18. Rhust on August 29th, 2007 4:32 pm

grats on the new belt, I got my veteran’s chain girdle yesterday… 1 week in the battlegrounds for a nice ass epic…

    +30 Agility
    +45 Stamina
    +20 Intellect
    critical strike rating= 16 (0.7%)(1.47% with agility)
    resilience rating = 21 (0.5%)
attack power = 32(62 including agility)

I’m still not keyed for lower-city instances… and hate regular Shadow labs, so I can’t imagine liking the heroic… damn 6 pulls!

  19. Grimia on August 29th, 2007 5:08 pm

Since someone mentioned Illhoof, I’ll say the last time our guild tried him we did like 4 wipes (new Lock and time on chains) and I had to call it. 5th time the guild got it and my belt dropped. At least I’ve had the PvP belt for a while now, but (and not using Ratings Buster, maybe I should) it seems the Telaari Hunting Girdle is better, for PvE at least than that.

  20. Rhust on August 29th, 2007 7:46 pm

telaari hunting girdle > the vet’s belt?

    Veteran’s Chain Girdle:
    +30 Agility
    +45 Stamina
    +20 Intellect
    critical strike rating= 16 (0.7%)(1.47% with agility)
    resilience rating = 21 (0.5%)
attack power = 32(62 including agility)

    Telaari hunting:
    +24 Agility (.60 crit)
    +17 Intellect
attack power = 50(74 with agility)
Equip: Restores 6 mana per 5 sec.

    vet’s has a loss 12 AP, but gain 450 health, 45 mana, .87% crit

maybe you mean the girdle of the prowler?
    +25 Agility (.63% crit)
    +21 Stamina
    +22 Intellect
Equip: Increases attack power by 48. (73)
Equip: Restores 6 mana per 5 sec.
Equip: Improves Hit Rating by 17. (1.08%)

the prowler has the hit rating and 11 AP, .84% LESS crit, 240 less HP, 30 more mana

I say the hit rating, makes it about = to the vets belt. but the vets is way better than the telaari

Your crit chance there is awesome, BRK. I still need to work on that more. ;-)

  22. Zemulos on August 30th, 2007 2:08 pm

W00t! My tooltip dps is now 337.9 with crit chance of 26.39% with only TSA and AotH up! 7/41/13 FTW!

  23. Rhust on August 30th, 2007 6:09 pm

@zem G-d DAMN! how much RAP are you up to?
I was up to 2100RAP when I respecc’d and wasn’t above the 300 mark. course I’m barely above the 300 mark now.

  24. Xizang on August 31st, 2007 10:34 am

Which buff is that, giving you 2% Damage? You are in IF as far as I can tell…

  25. Rhust on August 31st, 2007 6:56 pm

you get 2% for having your pet active with 2 points in kill command talent

    3% more for FI

  26. Xizang on September 1st, 2007 5:41 am

Thank you. I just figured that out as well.
