Frost Nova is a great defensive maneuver, but it doesn't last long. In a few seconds, the mob will be back on the move. I explained… “the owl does aoe… you have problems… run to the owl…”

What happens? Melvin’s shammy walks in front of one of those doors in back, aggros all the mobs inside while I’m clearing crap… then runs OUT of the chapel, 4 elites in pursuit…

I had to send owl at one of em, and (this being before the mend pet fix) got to watch Fluffy die before I could get in range to save him…

The worthless shammy lived tho.

I went all /rant on him after his excuse…

They tend to have a bit of a patrol range. Once you remember where they tend to show up, you can use Flares to flush them out of hiding more accurately.
