Things We Want
We want our pets to ride beside us on our ground mount and auto-dismissed when we use our flying mount. If we have a flying pet, we want him to fly beside us on our flying mount. Ditto flying non-combat pets. We want to fly into Shattrath with our Dragonhawk and 27 non-combat flying pets in a V-formation.
We want our flying mount to bank through turns. Obey the Laws of Physics!
We want to be able to put our flying mount on auto-straight, jump up off the saddle, shoot stuff, land back on the saddle and keep on truckin’. Ignore the Laws of Physics!
We want our gun with a scope to look like a gun with a scope. We want scopes to look more and more wicked as they get more powerful.
We want bows to have something besides a scope; that’s just dumb. Let engineers make synthetic string or graphite shafts, whatever. Bow-scopes are a cop-out.
We want an epic craftable ammo pouch and quiver, dagnabit! A 28-slotter, no skimping!
We want craftable ammo to cost less. We want rocket-propelled ammo. We want armor-piercing ammo. We want explode-on-contact ammo. We want some variety!
We want the Hawk Eye talent moved out of the Survival Tree.
We want Combat Experience buffed. We’re probably never going to go Marksman, but CE is abysmal and needs some love.
We want Trueshot Aura to be a real Aura, like Paladins have.
We want Steve Jobs to retire, Apple’s board of directors to hire us as the new CEO, and for us to green-light the iMac Gamer project.
We want the 95% of our pets which have no Reason To Be to be given a Reason To Be. Make a Sporebat special or just get rid of it, ya know what we’re saying?
We want Gnome hunters. BRK would reroll a gnome hunter tomorrow and get a bear pet and PvP until we died laughing.
We want more Fel Mana potions. Alchemists, please advertise these to the hunter community and put more on the Auction House.
We want more stable slots. Make them expensive, we don’t care. We can have 165 different epic mounts but only three pets? Yes this “want” has been beaten to death, but OMG just how stupid is it that this hasn’t changed yet?
We want greater pet-deltas. Make a tank-pet a real tank-pet and not just give him +5% armor. Enough half-@ssed efforts, already.
We want pet-stats! What is Hobbes’s dodge percentage? What is his crit? Hel-lo?!
We want more pet snacks. Sporeling Snacks FTW but where are the Serpent Snaugages, the Felboar Bacon Bits and the Clefthoof Cookies?
We want less quest-reward Shammy-gear. Lots less.
We want spec-geared gear, like the Shammy’s get. The Beastmaster Leggings are a good start, now make an entire set and call it Beastlord. Make Desolation just for Marksman and a new set with agility out the ying-yang for Survivalists.
We want kids today to know the joy of Bugs Bunny/Road Runner and that all their new-fangled crap can’t compete.
We want to be able to scale our Mend Pet spell. Let us use +Healing enchants and gear again. It wasn’t that popular before, but we’d sure chuck some on now.
We want Cower to be free, like Growl.
We want a better animation for Kill Command. We have recommended that Hobbes grab the enemy by the throat and toss him around like a toy for three seconds.
We want to Misdirect onto anybody. Especially that undead Warlock who kept trying to ninja our Cobra Scales last night. We went so far as to flag PvP and get him to flag too so we could nuke him into the next dimension, no luck. Stupid PvE server, let us Misdirect all the Naga at Coilfang Point onto his @ss.
We want Serpent Sting redone; it both sucks and blows now.
We want Viper Sting redone. Ditto.
We want our pet to die when we Feign Death. Hobbes can tank Murmur but he cannot “play dead”? Pfft.
We want the old Raspberry back, Starbucks! You sick, communist, tree-hugging, muffin-headed, bed-wetters!
We want a new Hunter Quest of Epic Proportions. The big problem with the Rok quest was that you needed a 40-man raid to get you to the Leaf to start the whole shebang. Make Nessingwary’s grandpa show up in Nagrand with the HQoEP. Any hunter can start it, only the very best can finish it. Make it cool, make it really, really hard, make it take a long time. Make our pets important to completion. Make us use every skill we have, not just kiting. No tricks, no buffs, nothing but gear, experience, and skill. Make the reward something really small, though, like a tabbard or a shirt. Make hunters do the quest for pride.

Ralowae here, Zangermarsh server, with two words:
Hell Yes
Amen, testify brother Hunter!
Amen Brother BRK, preach on!

make it so we can carry an extra full quiver/pouch in our backpack even.
sporebats r special, they give me sporeling snaks.
pretty much could agree on all the rest …. btw … my 11 yr old loves bugs bunny, not so much the roadrunner tho.

That right there is what makes the Hunter class so damn good. It doesn’t matter about gear it matters about skills. I absolutly loved the Rhok quest. I jumped up and down literally the night I got the leaf. It took me a bit to learn the demons but eventually they went down. I really want that again.
I too would be happy if it would be just a tabard or a shirt. I would do it and wear that thing all the time.

Hmmm or make the quest reward the hunter with? An Epic quiver+Additional Stable Slot? And TSHIRT@@@21!@!
great list
while they are at it, let us train our own mounts too… I wanna clefthoof mount! put you gnome hunter on THAT!
I wanna shoot while sitting on my frost wolf howler too… like a western… I’d go get a skeletal horse and look like a big green indian..
I wanna teach my cat stupid pet tricks… not used in combat, just random stuff.. I’ll hold a hoop and make him jump through… something… tell me that wouldn’t be cool
How about bows with realistic range. I can hit a man size target at 100 yards. My sweetie marched 6 crossbow quarrels up a man sized target at 150 yards. My high-level hunter can’t hit a target, which quite literally blocks her vision, at 42 yards? at 36 yards? Weak.
And how exactly does a scope help at such short range? Are Azerothians all hopelessly near sighted? Probably.
Thank You Kindly,
Corwyn
for Kafsha and Shaelee
We want Sure Footed moved to the Marksman tree. Because if they are supposed to be the superior shooters, they should have the best chance to hit. We want Resourcefullness moved to where Imp. Arcane Shot is, and in it’s old place, a buffed Combat Experience, Hawk eye where Imp. Concussive Shot is, and for Imp. Wing Clip to get a better than 20% chance to immobilize it’s recipient. We want pet-specific quests, an epic 4 second weapon, so we can use rapid fire and abacus of violent odds at the same time and not lose dps bc we can’t do that AND weave kill command, multishot, arcane shot, and steady shot, (lol). We want Marksman hunters to stop thinking they can out dps a BM with identical gear in any fight lasting longer than 10 seconds, did i mention pet-specific quests, lol. Oh, and we want an arena or two with less line of sight issues.
We want less quest-reward Shammy-gear. Lots less.
Um, the shaman are the ones relegated to using all that hunter crap given as quest rewards, not the other way around…
I know you hate using all those shaman mail pieces loaded with STR. Oh, wait, those don’t exist.
As soon as there is INT, Mp5, or AGL on it, it’s no longer properly designed for Shaman. INT and Mp5 are both almost completely useless to us, and AGL (while somewhat useful), is far better itemized as STR/AP or +crit.
I’m going to second the requests for skills for the unloved pets and for taming your own mount. (Now THAT would be a great hunter quest! One for a reg. mount and one for an epic mount!)
Brilliant.
Regolith and Rufus
You forgot:
We want our guns to sound more impressive. My Consortium Blaster sounds exactly like a Dwarven Hand Cannon which sounds exactly like a level 5 Rough Boomstick.
.22’s do not sound like Magnums and they don’t sound like Shotguns. Sigh.
We want deadzone damage to be 50%. It is undeasonable to think that I can’t stab a mob that is arms length away.
We want an item that generates ammo (like that underspore thingie that makes a stack of food every 12 hours). Make it a replicator that can make whatever type of ammo I put in it.
We want a way to level pets that does not take a year.
We want the cooldown on viper sting to be shorter, at least the duration of the spell.
We want the cooldown on traps to be eiminated if the trap is immune, reisisted, or broken.
We want cheap PVP ammo, like the cheap PVP mana potions.
We want a caster pet. Warlocks get one, I want one. I want a dragonling from Redridge.
We want the 95% of our pets which have no Reason To Be to be given a Reason To Be.
We want greater pet-deltas. Make a tank-pet a real tank-pet and not just give him +5% armor. Enough half-@ssed efforts, already.
We want pet-stats! What is Hobbes’s dodge percentage? What is his crit? Hel-lo?!

QFT
We want arrows that aren’t consumed in arenas and bgs.
We want traps that are not visible to blind people. Here’s a Chinese proverb for ya:
If a trap can be seen plainly by all, is it still a trap?
Give Bears a “Ravage” Talent. Like they do in the wild. Make them raise up on their back legs ..again like they do in the wild.
Give Raptors a Rend Talent. Although giving them dash is a start.
Make a lower level pet snack. Something starting at 40.
Give us the ability to have two pets out and the ability to dismiss one and call the other and vice versa. Hell, make us carry a whistle we need to quest to get and make it take up a slot.
These are in addition to the aforementioned wants.
I actually had this other idea when I helped some guildies kill Tusker in Nagrand. What if you could have a Elekk pet and its special ability was something like Trample where it dazes the target for 4 sec and slows movement speed for an additional 10.
Now on that same token imagine being on the receiving end of that, especially with a BM spec Hunter commanding that thing and popping BW?
This deserved a separate post:
We want NO DEADZONE. Shoot’em up style action movies would be infinitely more boring if everyone had to back up to 10 yards to fking shoot someone >_<
When you say “Viper Sting sucks and blows”, is it because it lacks usefulness in PvE? It seems pretty amazing in PvP. I am lucky to have Abolish Poison (which is difficult to employ against Hunter + Scorpid Pet), but I can’t imagine what Priests do against Hunter/X. Someone mentioned lowering the cooldown but it seems to me that draining a caster’s mana more than 50% of the time should be considered quite powerful. How would you see it changed?
The problem with Viper Sting is that it didn’t scale with the mana-reserve capabilites of classes when we leveled from 60 to 70. Hunters can drain 1368 mana over 8 seconds.
Back in the pre-BC days, that was pretty spiffy. For level 70 mana classes, even hunters, that’s /yawn worthy.
There is a Viper Sting Rank 1 trick we have taught to use against, and pardon the expression, Cleanse Whor3s, in PvP. But aside from that, there are very few situations where Viper Sting is a difference-maker.
Yeah, I think our stings would be better if you took a big hit first then DOT for the rest of it. Like explosion trap.
We want a new Hunter Quest of Epic Proportions. The big problem with the Rok quest was that you needed a 40-man raid to get you to the Leaf to start ….
Hmm.. a 40-man raid to start a hunter quest.. yet another example of how Blizz shortchanges the casual player, giving them access to 50% of the content.
Will ANYONE ever do that quest again?.. probably not.
Ditto on Bugs and Road Runner. I fear for our country’s future.
I’ll add one more. I want Trident cinnamon gum back. It’s nowhere to be found! My guess is either aliens have secretly stolen the recipe or John Edwards has a class action suit against Trident because some idiot kid chewed a whole pack at once and burned a hole in his tongue.
We want gorillas to have a knock back ability and a thunderstomp at 60.
Nice post - you forgot to add “Sonic Spear”!!
Which… dropped for me this weekend(yay)! I also managed to get my second piece of Beast Lord armor (shoulders) as well.
So, all-in-all, a good weekend for the ‘brat!
For the love of all that’s good and true, don’t ask for less enhancement gear, we have next to none as it is (for the record, all that ap/agi/hit stacked crap is not ours don’t blame us if you can’t use it either. Anything mail with strength on it, that you can blame us for.)
Wierdly, Desolation is one of the sets I might have actually called shaman gear.

I hope it’s a good change and not something really stupid that takes 3 nethers, etc…
lmao.. i agree. was bm from 10-70 and respected to mm for better traps and now back to bm, where i belong.
i would love to see armor for my cat.. instance or buy it.. dont matter to me. that would be cool.
maddog
we want a lvl 69 70 boar to tame
we want to carry cages with us to keep our pets in and do away with the stables all together
we want mounts that we can ride when we die and have to spend 10 minutes running back to our body
we want to put fiery/icy on our range weapon and have flaming/freezing arrows/bullets
we want to kill the word verification =P
**We want a better animation for Kill Command. We have recommended that Hobbes grab the enemy by the throat and toss him around like a toy for three seconds.**
Or grab the enemy by the throat and drag him off stage.
I want mages to learn a new spell; summon ice/fire arrows/bullets… or just to make some food my cat likes.
Sometimes I’d like my pet to not play dead when I do tho, so a nice extra “both feign death” ability would be good.
I figure I should make this comment for any priests that stumble across this post:
No +healing gear for hunters, so priests don’t have to roll against hunters for healing cloth. Because it will happen.
you hunters are so overpowered right now its sick and you keep wanting more. Okay its human nature to want more. Ill give you the epic ammo pouch/quiver if its a bop epic recipe and the pouch/quiver is bop too. But you can make either with the recipe.
oh I also second what mingo said
as long as you use your powers for good(as in saving you squishies from dieing)there is no such thing as too much power or overpowered
one more thing….
we want a 20% chance when we loot a corpse we get our bullets/arrows back
It doesn’t look like our pets will be riding beside us, so sayeth the Blue Name

Always wished that sending your pet to kill a critter would count as feeding.
Would be cool too if hunters could tame/capture critters and sell them as cosmetic pets. Would offset the costs of ammo and pet food nicely.

I am so f’ing tired of people saying hunters are overpowered. We have been nerfed with practically every patch. And Shaman, YES, most of the quest rewards are for you, albeit a lot are better for resto or elemental, but still. WTH am I gonna do with bonuses to healing and spell damage?
Speaking of Gnome Hunters…I ran through Gnomer the other night and someone in the group had a left over gnome costume wand.
I run with a black panther these days (not the bear you wanted), but I did find it hilarious watching the gnome fire away on his gun all night…and in gnomer to boot!
Try it sometime:)
Fuck…yes..
make it happen..all of it.. especially the epic hunter quest.. make it so hard that the goldfarmers cant do it, but make it pet-friendly, because I’m not a half hunter..
