Denmark, We’re Coming
Why Denmark? Because, as the saying goes, there’s something rotten there. We present BRK’s and Fio’s combat logs, just the first few lines, from our Gruul’s Lair run. These are parsed from the complete data file from the first Misdirection to the death of Maulgar:
We recorded four events before Jerkhead gained 12 Mana from his totem. Fio recorded six. Houston, we have a problem; our data cannot be trusted yet.
We probably screwed something up.
So into the config files and FAQs we delve. More on WWS later as we try to figure out just how dumb we’ve been.

I asked this because at 57 I have two rings that both give like +6 agi and I went to Hellfire and one of the first mobs that I killed dropped a lvl 57 ring that has +21 STA on it. Would not the +sta [outweigh] the little agi bonus that I get by giving my pet and myself more [health]? Mshirley.”
It depends.
If you’ve got loads and loads of stamina but very low agility, keep your DPS-rings. If you’re running around Hellfire Peninsula with 1000 health, slap on the +Stamina ring.
An item can be “better” than another, but that does not necessarily require you to use it.
Let’s say that, for right now, the agility rings are what you need. Don’t run off and vendor that stamina ring! Keep it hidden, keep it safe. You may need it in the future. The immediate future. Tomorrow. Your next quest. The next mob.

Regarding the stats…
is there a good ratio balance of agi, sta, and int?..
Perhaps 1-1-1 or 2-2-1 or ?..
I think an answer here might help answer a lot of the stats questions. Since we do need all three, what is the proper balance?..
Is there a reason you noticed that BRK could not see Jaemora, but Fio could? All that toon’s entries are missing from BRK’s log. Mayhaps its an LoS issue.

Don’t know why we didn’t see Jace. We need to look at our config files and the combat logs more closely. But first, we have to answer the smoke alarm question.
Priorities, you know.
Are you looking at your raw logs or the ones you can browse with WWS?
If you’ve previously uploaded logs and Jace wasn’t there you need to make sure you update WWS with your “actors” or Jace won’t show up at all in the WWS logs I think.
Or did you maybe put Jace on /ignore?

I wouldn’t be too concerned about those wws logs, thats why you merge them. WWS takes in everything and figures out what are duplicate events and what are caught by only certain members, and includes it. Thats WHY you do more than 1 log because some people will catch what others wont. WWS will throw it all together and figure out the big picture.
BRK, just to be sure, for your WWS parses, are you all maxing out the range for your combat logs to 200 yards before the fight ?
On a Maulgar pull you can get rather spread out, so that could be part of it.
If you’ve already checked it, then nevermind, if not, maybe that helps. I’ll try to dig up the post where we’ve talking about it over on the Ars Forums.

there is no cookie cutter formula altho i did see a general graph of optimal stat combos …which is totally useless unless u can enter all the factors(gear/rotations/gems etc etc) …. no easy answers karl, sorry to say u have to see what works for u … u could always go on to armory and analyze all the top guilds hunters and post data on what ratios u find …..

But, isn’t there a rough ideal ratio for agi vs sta vs int?..
The idea would be have a goal to shoot for when itemizing.
For example, for a BM, should agi be twice your int?.. sta and agi be about equal?..
I realize that it will be customized, but it could certainly help the newer players get on the right track.

Yes. Or maybe not, that’s the question. We made the appropriate changes to our config file to make this automatic, but when we looked at the file this morning it looked wrong.
But our Internet was out and we had to get ready for work and the boy’s Fruit Loops were stale so those had to go and Mrs BRK’s birthday is FRIDAY and even though we bought her an iPhone we gotta get something and we haven’t done it yet and we’re on tap for Kara on Friday and we have to get the WI column to the BRK EA for review still..
So anyway, you can totally see why we haven’t figured out our WWS problem yet.
BRK - just install a mod called LoggerHead from WowAce. It sets the range for you, and turns logging on and off automagically for each zone.
Thanks to your encouragement I levelled a hunter to 29 - my record!

and yes, the WWS range should be 200, and yes, multiple logs are the way to go.
Only way to test it is to get the furry-butt and BRK on the same spot and do stuff, then compare notes.
The Maulgar fight is very spread out, so it is probably a range issue.
and - could it be that when you update WWS it resets to default ranges (say, if there’s a major version upgrade, the author could tell wow to skip the old settings) ?
