Shade of Aran in 3:43

Post-Patch Kara. Everybody’s addons were screwy, of course. The server is hiccuping. We’re still missing the sound from many shots and that screws up our concentration. Some people were getting ridiculous latencies on WoW, 2000ms or worse, while their regular Internet latency was in the 200ms-range. Several people got kicked from WoW while their Vent connections were perfect. Our goal was Prince but the DCs slowed us down and we only finished Chess.

Drenden is lowgie. And if you have a better spelling for ‘lowgie’ we’d love to see it.

But we went to Kara anyway with our regular trio of druid-specs but with a new feral kitty, Kel. We poached her from another server, she joined the guild two days ago, and POW she’s in our Kara group 2 yesterday. She has experience tanking the place, not DPSing. She did great swiping and stealthing and whatnot and the guild was impressed. Unfortunately, on our BigBadWolf fight she got nuked within the first three seconds, so her DPS on that fight was zilch. but otherwise she was very impressive.

AC appreciates druids like no other guild we’ve ever been in. Those loot-wh0ring ‘I can do anything so gimme da purplez!’ freakishly tall people are bloody-well everywhere.

As you can see from the Aran destruction, we are doing pretty well in the pure-DPS department. Once again he was brought down before 40% mana.

See that 120DPS from The Squeekie Priestie? We bet she brought out that rogue-dagger she snagged from Moroes and gave Aran taps on the ankle, just to say she did it.

Stay tuned for more WWS goodness as we investigate addons that automate the combatlog for us.

    lowgie = logy

Meaning sluggish. If I’ve interpreted the BRK-ese right :-)

I led one of the Kara groups on an alt on Tuesday. This groups goal is to clear it in two short nights…

Yeah, between lag, mods, server crashes which kept everyones main trapped in limbo for long periods we didn’t do so hot.

I’m thinking of starting a guild policy that we do not raid on patch day. It’s just not worth it.

I wanted to point out a difference on the shade fight for brk

54 auto’s 40 specials with a very movement intensive fight. This is a good breakup for this fight. Notice the 800+ dps as a result!

The majority of our guild were reporting extremely poor performance, logging out and then back in to find they were in a completely different location.

I, however, had no problems what so ever.

/childish na na na na na :p

I don’t use ANY addons… maybe thats causing the issue? No idea….

What the heck is up with your Lock? ~400 DPS? Make sure he’s using DOTimers of some sort (esp. important for Affliction). And he shouldn’t use Soulfire, that’s terrible!

At this moment on High King and Gruul, our Locks fall within the top 5 slots—amusingly, our Felguard Lock (aka BigRedDemon spec) usually kills it with 1000+ DPS.

Addons may have something to do with it, my gladiator mod was fine as was Omen/SwS/Recap and my quartz shot timer. But my venantes (circular thingie with tracking and aspects) has been giving me ungodly amounts of crap. I’ll probably have to swap back to zhunter which is still updated just not nearly as cool looking :(

  7. Shifttusk on September 27th, 2007 2:27 pm

@Megan - Yea i tried a lock on the PTR as affliction in ssc and it was a nightmare without a timer. Without it I swear I was missing COA’s for as long as the period of SL. I swapped to Sacrifice/Destruction on the PTR cause I was going crazy!

Demo can do tons of dps but they need to hook warlocks with an instant HOT spell for pets if they want it to be truely raid viable. The build just gets housed on Void Reaver, Lurker and any pet gets hit hard fights. You cant really stop and health funnel him.

Damn, BRK! That’s some impressive DPS’in there… on that fight in particular!

I assume with that kind of pain being caused, there was no embarrassing sheeping during the fight?

    Addendum to last comment:
Ah! Dead at 40% mana! No sheep! Well done!

    “Automating the CombatLog”
I _highly_ recommend autoCL. It is an Ace2 addon and you can set it to:
    a) expand your combatlog range out to past max, without all of those pesky commandline commands
    b) automatically start logging combat when you zone in to a particular place or instance (as we just killed Prince for the first time this week, my only starts up when I enter Karazhan)

Our group has found WWS really helpful as a DPS wakeup call, without the occasional problems that damagemeters have caused. I’m really looking forward to when we move on to bigger content, so I have more warriors to compare to. (I love my druid and pally offtanks, but it is so lonely on my WWS page) ;)

Keep up the good work BRK - because of you I’ve created a hunter alt just to see what all the fuss is about. :D

Not to single out your warlock but like Megan’s comment, what the heck there???

    @Shifttusk
FG-Demo in 25-man raids still gets so much hates and I think it’s just the fact that most guilds still see healing a pet as “wasting” a healer… which just hurts my head. However now that T5 2 pc bonus gives health to pet base on dmg done, I wonder how much that changes things??? Seriously most ‘locks rarely expect to get healed and the old 2 pc bonus was health to pet based on the ‘lock getting healed (if you say SL heals too, be serious it’s nice but % of SL healing is barely noticable).

Erm, 120 DPS, but 842 damage total. So the fight was less than 8 seconds long? Hmm, I think it needs a bit more time before folk trust wws figures.

2pc T5 bonus is awesome now. I did 57k healing on Void Reaver (Yes I’m a hunter lol) WITHOUT using mend pet/healthstone/healing potion once. All was from pure damage done.

There is a range limit on it though, it doesn’t work at 41yds iirc. You need to be ~35 or so yds from your pet for it to be affected by the healing.

It’s also pretty funny to watch SCT spam when you do explosive trap/volley on AoE groups, it doesn’t heal for much but theres a hell of a lot of numbers flying around!

  16. HELL on September 28th, 2007 10:33 am

Just to note, before the changes to T5 bonus in the patch, the pet healed itself for 8.5k on void reaver.

So the change is a massive one!

from 8.5k effective healing up to 57k.

You’re missing shot noises as well? I thought that was just me.
