This Is What Happens When We Have No Time
People get impatient and do our analysis for us. Thanks, Someone. You nailed exactly what we were thinking and the data seems to bear it out.
Go read his post. Absorb, comprehend, get angry, calm down, then come back. We’ll wait for you, don’t worry.

You’re back? OK. In Gruul’s Lair, where movement is pretty important, the ability to stand in one place and let Auto Shots proc IAotH is neither predictable nor guaranteed. As such, the more damage you can do while running around becomes more important. Making our pet as survivable as possible and making him do as much damage as possible would seem to be part of that equation. This may not be the best spec for Gruul’s, but we want to try it again without Hobbes getting nuked three times.
(We are trying really hard not to summarize Someone’s summary here. If this seems a little light on content, go read his post again. It is basically everything we were going to write, but with commas as decimal points.)
So tonight is Kara and we’re going to take our 3/5 IAotH and 0/2 Bestial Discipline through Prince. We’ll post WWS reports and comparisons to previous runs to see the differences.
Unless someone beats us to it.

For the new survey where is the waiting for ZA to come out and pvping category?
@BRK: you’re welcome!
That’s what one ends up doing when work is not going right (inspiration can make or break your programming work day: when I start acting “dumber” than normal, I give it a break and do something else!)
BRK, you aren’t in a Kara group until Friday.. today is Wednesday.
No offense to Someone, but the analysis is a little too “mathy” for me. I’d still like to hear the BRK perspective
@anonymous: you probably never saw a “mathy” analysis from me, have you?
This one is VERY light on math!
And no offense taken, btw! If you want a shorter analysis:
- IAotH depends on procs which last for a few seconds: if you spend too much time moving around, you’re wasting it!
- claw depends on focus; if the pet does not have much (say you used the TPs for IAotH instead of BD), then it won’t do as much damage
Couple those two and you have two cenarios:
1) Hunter can stand still most of the time -> IAotH wins over more Claw focus;
2) Hunter has to keep moving and pet can stay attacking -> more claw focus wins over IAotH!
BTW: I’m not doing this so BRK won’t answer! I too like his style, but he will be answering after the next kara run, so let’s just wait and read!
