The sole job of a tank is to get beaten on mercilessly, and anything we as dps-ers can do to make that easier (ala misdirection, manna from heaven as far as tanks are concerned) we are obligated to do so. That being said, knowing when to back off the dps or drop a FD to wipe the aggro slate clean is definitely a core-ability of any GOOD dpser. Anybody with a class that is designed to do damage should be able to accomplish that, but a large part of your responsibility is not to make life harder for the rest of the group (or ending up dead!) by pulling the mob. Having addons to help you accomplish this is optional, although I don’t know any other more efficient way. But “threat management”? You better believe that’s a dps-ers job. ^_^
