61 Badges of Justice minus 60 Badges of Justice leaves 1 Badge of Justice and a new belt, the War-Feathered Loop. We forgot to take the delta-screenshot, but this was a nice upgrade from our Ebon Netherscale Belt.
And since we broke the Netherscale Set, we might as well upgrade from the Ebon Netherscale Bracers to our banked Stalker’s War Bands.
Shoulders, gloves, leggings, bracers, and belt in two days. That’s a lot of change! And there might be more.
Our Saberclaw Talisman might get swapped for our Worgen Claw Necklace if we see our misses become too great in the WWS report after tonight’s Magtheridon run. We’d like to keep our current set up, but we have a sneaking suspicion that our +Hit is just too low.

Dear BRK,
Long time troller, first time poster. Two BM related questions I hope you can answer. I got High King’s helm last night along with the DST from Gruul. Do you recommend using the helm over my Demonstalker helm, and will the DST be a bad idea do too the haste proc when using a 1:1.5 rotation?
Thanks again for all your info on your blog and i look forward too hearing from you soon. Good luck and best loots. Dalton.

grats BRK on the war-feather loop!
I’m curious how good the “ignore armor” stat REALLY is. please post numbers!
Thomas on 28 Nov 2007 at 2:50 pm #
What Rhust said.
I’m interested in learning how much more damage you obtain due to ignoring armor amount.
Anonymous on 28 Nov 2007 at 3:11 pm #
From the way I understand it, the ignore armor will greatly depend on what your fighting against.
I mean, against a cloth wearer, the increase in damage would be greater than against a mail or plate wearer.
I was recently speaking to a guildy (Shaman), as he was reading up on it. According to his discoveries, once you achieve a set amount of ignore armor, you should see a noticable change in damage, however your tool tip won’t show it on your white damage dps.
Unfortunatly I’m at work atm, so have a very limeted net access. Once I know more I’ll try to get it posted up here.
Just a side note, should you guys start doing SSC soon, Hydross drops an amazing chest piece, which I recently took over the T4 one. Its called the Ranger General’s I believe, you should go take a look, its worth a gander.
Gratz on your new gear, shame we don’t do Gruul anymore, so I guess I’ll have to try to get the legs from the badges.

Be careful when parsing mag data - you won’t see misses on trash or the Hellfire Channelers - base miss rate is MUCH lower for lvl 72 and 71 mobs, so Mag’s adds don’t require as much hit rating - it may even be worthwhile for you to keep around some ‘minimum hit’ gear for fights where you’ll be on add duty the whole time - or just for trash.
Dave on 28 Nov 2007 at 3:58 pm #
Just tell Fio to respec and pick up improved Faerie Fire. That should counteract your low hit rating.

As to armor ignore:
The more you have the better it gets since Armor ignore works in reverse of the way armor does for tanks, where there are diminishing returns on stacking it. Bossmobs typically have 6600-7700 armor, and a standard set of raid debuffs - Sunder, Faerie Fire, Recklessness - will leave that bossmob at about 3500-4000 armor - basically, raid bosses wear mail, and debuffed, they wear leather.

Woot! Gratz man!
Rotseh on 28 Nov 2007 at 4:50 pm #
Uh oh, another -13 MP5, BRK. That’s a total of 26 MP5 lost with all your new gear. Had a change of heart, seeing as you advocated having a good amount only recently because of IAotH?
Rakhman on 28 Nov 2007 at 5:07 pm #
What rhust said. I’d love to see some BRK analysis of what this ignore armor stat gives, and whether it is worth loosing AP or crit for, and if so how much. Comparing items just got a bit more hard, thanks a lot Blizz *sigh*.
BRK on 28 Nov 2007 at 5:17 pm #
We’ll do an indepth post of “Ignore Armor” as soon as we can.
Our Intellect went from 245 to 291, which is almost a 20% increase. That should easily make up for the loss in MP5, don’t you think?
Ghead on 28 Nov 2007 at 7:27 pm #
I think the new recipe Spicy Hot Talbuk is a good option for +Hit when you need it most. I’d suggest keeping some on hand for those pesky level 73 mobs.
RabidPoultry on 28 Nov 2007 at 7:34 pm #
Nice lewts! I love the gloves look!
On a unreleated note:
I have a hunter in my guild that routinely gets 1200 crits @ level 58. I think he is BM spec as I am, now what I am wondering is how he gets it that high, I haven’t checked his armory as of this post but I will. Is a slower bow better for my crit? I never see anything above 750.
Here is my armory link

Any advice? Critique? Flames?
Thanks all
RabidPoultry on 28 Nov 2007 at 7:39 pm #
Ack I checked his armory he has alot of +crit rating from a few trinkets etc, I guess that helps the overall damage a crit does? Or is it just a higher chance to crit that does not affect the damage.
Sorry to be bugging you all here, I guess it is time to surf wowwiki?

BRK, you must find and utilize Cheeky’s Spreadsheet.
I don’t have a link off the top of my head, but if you search the WoW forums for Cheeky she has a link in her signiture.
Anywhen, I found that for me Ebon Netherscale actually ‘outperformed’ that belt. The badge purchased bracers did outperform both Stalker’s and Ebon though.
Finally, the elitistjerks are hard at work codifying armor penetration for us pleabs. What I know for certain is that it scales off itself. The more you have the better.
I also know it’s better for making squishies squishier than making a bear damagable.

Rabid,
I am not the exalted BRK but I think I can answer your question.
Slower weapons are better for seeing big numbers. Big numbers are gratifying, but BM hunters should leave them MM who rely on them for damage.
BM hunters need a tight rotation. Your numbers won’t be as big, but in the end you’ll do more damage. The closer your weapon speed is to (1.5s + your lag) the more dps you can do.

Grats BRK, but… /JEALOUS!
I would have had the WFL too, if only our Kara run hadn’t been cancelled last night! Only eight badges to go so hopefully tonight
Rotseh on 29 Nov 2007 at 6:48 am #
Well, with that intelligence increase (+46 int) you have initially 690 mana more. But when they’re spent you only gain 11.5 mp5 on average when turning on AotV. Compared to the lost 26 static mp5 you gain even with AotH up, I don’t know. You may run oom on long boss fights and/or not profit from IAotH much. I guess you’ll have to see, BRK. Curious about your findings, been wondering what a good MP5 value would be for hunters.
