The End of the Story… So Far

BRK » 04 December 2007 » In Blog, Stats »

Here’s an example of why this Internetty thing rox our sox.

Some nice person asks us a question about Ignore Armor. We answer it.

Someone else says, “Yeah, but how does this apply to raid-boses? Karthis answers it. He went to the Elitist Jerks, grabbed their theories about bosses and their armor values, and put up a nice list. Sweet.

Then Someone says, “That’s cool, but static info sucks. How about a web app?” and Someone builds it. He made a downloadable spreadsheet into which you can plug your personal Ignore Armor stat and see how much their physical damage mitigations will be reduced.

And since nobody emailed BRK to say, “OO! OO! OO! Lookie what we did!” we whip out our fun Technorati tools to find out who’s is saying what about da blog, find both their posts, and then link to them here.

Snazzy? You bet it is.

Yup, the internet is golden, but it takes a good filter to seperate the cinnamon from the shit (as we say in Denmark). This site is, among other things, just such a filter.

A big cheers from Mads (who’s just had his WoW-addiction rekindled)

Whoops - I left a comment on the ignore armor post figuring it would be a more effective way to get thru than email. =P

    what an awesome spreadsheet!

I put in the 600 armor decreasing value for the proc from the Beast Lord 4 piece armor set bonus…whoa!

    3.00% on Aran!

that is pretty amazing, and i think worth stacking crit gems for if you can keep that up for 90% of the fight.

    thoughts?

    /sigh

I still can’t get a hold of this whole Internet-2.0 thing. And the sad part? I work for a dot-com!

Internet 2.0 is a buzzword. Ignore it and it’ll go away…. it’s just meaningless drivel. =P

Don’t forget a warrior tank will give a pleasent 2600 armour reduction from a full stack of sunders, so that would give you 14.99% more damage on aran. Add your 600 armour reducing proc and Aran’s taking 19.33 more damage, so your procs giving you 4.34 there. But Aran’s a big clothy, most fights the sunders give 9-11% and the 600 armour proc giving 2.5-3% on top of that, or only 2% if theres no warrior around to sunder for you.

Awesome spreadsheet…all it needs is the ability to compare armor reduction to crit and I’ll be a happy camper ;)

Seriously, though, that would be pretty awesome because it seems like most of the gear to get this armor reduction stat has a serious lack of crit.
