Excellent video! I need to read some more of your not-so-raiding entries, as I’m sure there’s a lot I’m not doing with my 70 Hunter as I PUG my way to Heroics gear.

Too bad my Dad is on 56k, next time I go home I’ll show him this, but I think I’ll be doing a lot of coaching to teach him how to strafe and move the camera around without moving himself. It took him a while to learn how to turn around, nevermind

I guess this is where console and FPS gamers have a big advantage over Car racing games / Runescape players

My one main comment is the video is a little biased towards boars. Granted, they are the easiest starter pet, but pretty much every other starter pet doesn’t have a handy Charge to quickly build pet aggro as well as close in quickly. I think it’d be more fair showing these techniques with a more average pet because even though the pets aren’t well balanced, I wouldn’t want everyone to feel they *have* to start with a boar.
Also, strafing doesn’t work so well with enemies which can outrun you. I’d like to see some more advanced techniques like jump-shot and PvP techniques touched on at least.
In addition, sometimes people *are* going to pull aggro of their pet. I think you should have shown how to let your pet re-establish it or deal with it rather than just die, as that can be difficult before you have traps.

I thought most of this should be common sense and I picked it up on my own, but glad to have it out there so people who really don’t get how to play Hunters or are coming off a melee mindset can learn. Especially since the game fails to explain how to do things very well, in particular with pet training and only a fraction of players check forums

Gee, I wish I’d had this a month ago when I signed up for WoW; it would’ve saved me far more levels of huntarding than I’d like to admit. I did learn on my own (eventually) to let my pet tank, but oh, the pain in the meantime.

Oh, well. Now to see what other forms of huntardism (huntardness, huntardity?) I can be cured of…

Wonderful stuff. Plus you got a great voice for narrating this.

I’m happy to see that apart from “swinging my axe” too much in the first ten levels I’m not doing too badly. Almost, almost…makes me want to start a lowbie hunter.

Thanks for your awesome videos. I have been mulling over making a hunter (BE or course, Hyoushi) for a while but this sealed the deal. I made him last night, go to 10 and then went to Durator and got my Corrupted Mottled Boar (Sighboar). My first toon was a huntard. I say that because no one was willing to help me with all the tips and tricks. You have taken made it so even the people that swore they would never make another Hunter are at it again.

I was a bit confused when you were talking about kiting. I figured it out once I got concussive shot. I just felt there should have been little things(i.e. When you hit level 4 …; At level 8 you get … and this is how to properly use it..)

Keep up the good work, feel better and take off that dress you look ridiculous. lol…
