Our First Honor Kill
Just like Alliance love ganking at Crossroads, Horde love tearing up Thelsmar. No big deal, it’s part of the game. Sneak in, kill some NPCs and especially the Flight Master, and of course you get to destroy any lowbies dumb enough to try to fight back. Eventually the call will go out to Ironforge for reinforcements, but until those fellas arrive, you’re Captain Hurricane, cutting a great swath through the enemies ranks.
And if you’re a level 30 Blood Elf Paladin, it’s all a great time until a hunter shows up who knows how to kite.
Very true, Mr. Paladin, that if we get in your melee range you’ll bust a move and squash us in two shots. But we’ve got Concussive Shot and Serpent Sting and a pet who’ll chew you up, albeit slowly. But as long as we kite you up and down the road, nothing is going to randomly aggro us and slow us down.
Too bad we didn’t get any help from our Alliance-buddies back there. See how none of them are flagged; they’re not green, they’re blue? Folks, dying is part of the game. Get in there and defend your territory!
But your death gave us great satisfaction, Mr. Paladin. Thank you for the good time.
Note: It took us three tries to spell “Dance” properly. We’ll work on that, we promise.

The only thing more fun than kiting someone to death is to kite and chaintrap them. There is nothing more embarassing to an attacker than to be treated like a mob.
And while still in the dress! That must have been pretty humbling (humiliating). Would love to have some photage of that player’s face contorting through the Kuber-Ross model.
hehe, had almost exact same fun with my alt 24 hunter in Forest Song, some lv30 horde warr shows up, chops some nps up, I /mock and /shoo him, he waves back and starts moving to next npc, so I get to a little distance, hunter’s mark, send ghostsaber to chew on some rotten flesh, serpent sting, he starts runing to me, concussive, arcane, strife to distance while arcaneshooting, he starts beating on kitty, mend pet, he starts to run, concussive again and in couple more sec dead he is
while I was hanging around and waiting for pvp to wear off he rezzes, runs away, eats to full and comes back to beat me up, hunters’s mark, send pet, concussive etc. … dead warr again
then he rezzed and left, of course it’s not like lv13 against 30, but still fun
WTG, BRK! And the pally didn’t think to heal? L2P, IMO. But really, what are those, 6-slot bags? 8? BRK, L2Twink :winks:
Damn right, that’s how you kill Ho…
Hey, wait a sec, I’m Horde!
After so many levels of neglecting it, I think I might have to give Serpent Sting some love again, just for pure kiting goodness and fun in BG’s… seeing as how I’m actually getting fairly good at PVP, and it’ll give me a new toy to play with against all those shiny Warriors.
Not to diminish (much!) your own feats, but a level 13 player killind a 30 pally can only be because the paly is a (what’s the huntard equivalent for palies?).
I mean: no heals, you were fighting a player 17 levels higher which equals PLENTY resists/misses which would simply make CS not land that much and even if it did, why didn’t he use Blessing of Freedom? It’s more than available at that level!
So, even though it was nice for you, it really shows more the “lack” of quality of the other player… It’s not to say that he wasn’t good, because with that level difference, he didn’t HAVE to be GOOD! He could be BAD and still beat you up! In order to loose against you, he HAS to be *THE* worst player on earth!
Heck, even if he went on for your pet first, he’d still win against a hunter 17 levels lower!
It’s not like you can prevent him from bubling up and healing!
/clap =) You rock dud^^ but I’m a horde hunter^^and horde rocks^^ but you rock much more ! nice^^
Hah, that’s hilarious! Although if he was smart he wouldn’t have let you kite him.
juste a question, didn’t he resist to arcane shot, serpent sting and didn’t you miss him?
To answer all the questions in one shot:
We have no clue if he sucked. He might, but we’re not worthy of being a Paladin-judge.
We don’t know why he did ABC or didn’t do XYZ. The fact remains that he died at our hands and a level 13 anything should never beat a level 30 anything. He has to live with that shame.
When he rez’d, he hunted us down and smooshed us quickly.
When we then logged out and brought BRK to Thelsmar, he was nowhere to be found.
You’d be surprised at just how helpful CS (or as I call it to myself, Conk Shot) is when you’re low lvl and PvPing. I did a lot of BGs at lvl 10-11, and my strategy was to CS their flag carrier and dance around ours as to say “hey, we’re eight levels below you silly twinks! free HK right here!” and sacrifice myself in order for our flag carrier to take less damage. It tipped the scales in a few games.
to answer this…
“(what’s the huntard equivalent for palies?)”
That would be Palidumb
and to BRK…I bow to your kiting, as well as your fashion sense:)
Somebody else helped kill him and you didn’t realize it. No way that a solo kill of a player 17 levels higher would have awarded only 2 honor points.
On Blackrock my hunter is named Guilder and he’s got 33 kills for 79 points and all but 4 or 5 of those kills were for players within 3-4 levels of my own level. The players that you kill more than 3-4 levels above you solo give much more points than 2.
Heck I kited a druid 4 levels above myself back and forth across the shimmering flats 4 times and got more than 2 points.
BRK, I totally respect this HK, basically because trying something like this is already great, and DOING it is even greater.
But I have to agree with Someone: last night I was questing in Hellfire with my gf’s squeeshie priest, me being level 63 and she is 61.
While killing a Hellboar, a Tauren Druid comes out of stealth, quickly kills her then comes for me and we engage in a short battle. I did not notice he was 70, so I rez, rebuff, call pet and go straight for him.
We then engage an epic battle, where I use Viper sting to drain his mana when in caster form, scare beast/conc/arcane and kite to death. Still he used Frenzied Regeneration and Innervate, and by the time I was OOM he had full health AGAIN.
I swear I have done everything I could, used all my cooldowns, then he stopped and started to kill my poor boar, while taking MQOSRDPS in his face. When my boar fell he switched to caster again, Viper sting while he Roots me, I know I’m dead but he has 0 mana (same as me).
I’m proud to say that he had to burn down a mana potion, because I would have Wing-clipped and kited him forever.
When I rez’d he slowly walked to me, he KNEELED put up a campfire and we emoted for a while. Somehow he recognized I had a nice fight even if I could never win.
With this tale I just want to point out that your victory was indeed a great moment, but at the same time I think it’s some kind of irrepeatable event, and something to remember proudly.
Retardins?
(answering the one above)
“Retardins?”
LOL! That should do it!
I rarely PvP, so I can’t answer the question about only 2 Honor points for a 17 level higher kill, but I can only imagine it to be similar to map discovery: if you do that WAY outside of the map level range you get WAY less XP. That is, you get the “proper” discovery XP from discovering places in Silithus if you’re in your 50ies, but if you go there at a very low level, say 10, you get MUCH less XP because at that level you’re either dumb and dyeing because you aggroed the whole map at once due to level difference, or you’re having higher level help.
I know you don’t get honor from a gray kill, so maybe you get just the “basic” honor from a SKULL kill as you normally wouldn’t be able to! Maybe you did it because the guy was AFK or something or maybe, as in BRK’s case, because he was dealing with a Retardin… Just my 0.02…
i’ve had the same fun with higher lvl horde on my server. i was lvl 30 in stv and a lvl 39 BElf pally looked at me and started running in. concussive, serpent sting, arcane, pet chomping away, intimidation his heal = 1 dead BElf pally. He tried 3 more times and failed miserably each time. worst thing is it was a lvl 1 loyalty kitty from nessingways camp. i didnt even have my main pet.
