If you couldn’t make this race, we really hope you make the next one. We’re gonna have a BRK Cinco de Mayo Event! We’re thinking of these ideas right now:

  • Gnaked Gnome Race, Spawn Circle to Booty Bay (300 gnomes, should be doable)
  • Running of the Bulls, Baby Tauren (moo!)
  • Some kind of five-person baby gnome team event, like “Find TJ in Loch Modan”.

If you’ve got an idea, let us know!

BRK, “We’re going to have a BRK Cinco de Mayo Event!”

Mrs BRK, ” Oh G@d. Just don’t offend Mexico.”

I’m down for the race’s since I couldn’t possibly get 5 people I know on at the same time. oh Korea kinda sucks that way.

  2. Tazijin on February 12th, 2008 7:53 am

I vote for the running of the bulls! Tauren spawning all the way to Ironforge!

  3. jumb on February 12th, 2008 7:53 am

All talking in game must be in Spanish?

Everyone has to go to a midway point and /lay or else they wont qualify?

  4. MelRedcap on February 12th, 2008 8:10 am

Whatever we do, please let it be a race that can be hunters. :D

  5. Deathrender on February 12th, 2008 8:45 am

It so needs to be the running of the bulls! Let the Horde have some fun this time.

  6. Thomas Jones on February 12th, 2008 8:57 am

Tauren run from Mulgore to Stormwind! 1st one to find the ally spy wins.

  7. Cynddl on February 12th, 2008 9:02 am

I mad my Tauren this morning

    Name :Bullcrap

  9. Trackhoof on February 12th, 2008 9:23 am

How about “The Kiting of the Bulls”?

Lowbie Nelf / Dwarf / Spacegoat hunters vs. Lots and Lots of lowbie Tauren, racing through a particular stretch of land, last Hunter alive wins for Allies, Tauren with most HK’s wins for the Horde. :D

  10. Trackhoof on February 12th, 2008 9:24 am

Oh, and, uh, there’s an in-game five-cerveza minimum, just to make things interesting.

    Speaking spanish encouraged.

  12. Donald Pyers on February 12th, 2008 11:16 am

Something for April 1st would be nice.
Of course, the ending would need to be a surprise!

  13. pelides on February 12th, 2008 11:22 am

We did a guild run once where we all made gnomes and had to deliver some ice cream to a guildie in Gadgetzan!

  14. doormonkey on February 12th, 2008 12:01 pm

How about a gnome race to Thunderbluff?

  15. Ess on February 12th, 2008 12:35 pm

    Thanks for the linkage!

And I love the idea of the running of the bulls. Perhaps we could also position some blood elves in the race (not level 1, not racing — just there for the photo ops) wearing white clothes with red sashes and scarves. :D

    Woot! They all sound great.

Starting circle to booty bay is awesome, lots of fun there.

  18. Croatan on February 12th, 2008 2:26 pm

    Hey

How about an epic event, like 40 (or more) lowbies for each side fighting for world domination? Last man stand win the battle, but probably would be need two person in each side to coordinate

    Regards

    Croatan

  19. Croatan on February 12th, 2008 2:34 pm

Another option… equal epic… recreate the Battle of Pueble, one side plays Mexico and another French, the side that kills the general before wins the mach (the generals could be the ppl organizing the event)

  20. Croatan on February 12th, 2008 2:34 pm

and… I am Brazilian, I took the history from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinco_de_Mayo so pardon me if i told something stupidy

  21. icedtrip on February 12th, 2008 3:00 pm

I little work and prep for this one, but…

Level 10 hunters (no higher) after completing their pet quest. All pets must be set to aggressive.

300 toons + 300 aggressive pets = fun for all!

    An example:

    Race: Dwarf
    Class: Hunter
Requirements: Level 10 with pet of choice. Cannot be higher than level 10 and must have pet. Pet must be set to aggressive at start of race until the race is over.
    Start point: Kharanos
    End point: Gadgetzan

  22. Aydyn on February 12th, 2008 7:58 pm

I like the running of the bulls idea, but why not change it up a bit?

    I. Starting points:
    A. Darnassus- port in level one players- time consuming but
    allows for different races
    B. Nightelf starting point- horde loves to watch elves get
    squished

II. End points: Straight through or a two part race with
everyone meeting outside the area, picking a
winner, healing, (flagging?) and the second part
of the race going to a set point in the area.
    A. Tuaren starting area
    B. ThunderBluff

(hopefully that makes sence, it did in my head /shrug )

  23. Noob on February 12th, 2008 8:10 pm

    /cry hysterically

I missed the race and have been kicking myself in the butt sense then. My chance at BRK glory… lost

    /continue crying

    But wait… a cinco de mayo race… /REJOICE!!!

Can’t wait to hear about the Cinco de MAyo celebration!

I’m totally for the Running of the Baby Bulls idea. It’s been way to long since anyone did a stampede. Besides, what other race has it’s own name for a group of them. A herd of Tauren. A…mob of humans? A gaggle of gnomes? A massacre of orcs? A murder of Forsaken? They just don’t have the right ring.

I’m just not sure where the best place to stampede the tauren to would be.

  25. Capn John on February 13th, 2008 2:08 pm

Definitely a running of the Tauren. And just like the GGR needed the Lemmings theme, the only song worthy of the Running of the Tauren is Rawhide! Yeehaw!

I also like Ess’s idea, about allowing Blood Elves but only those with white shirts & pants with a red belt :)

The Stampede has to begin in Red Cloud Mesa, then up and into the Barrens to Orgrimmar where you take the Zeppelin to Undercity. The Stampede then continues down to the Arathi Highlands, into the Wetlands, to Loch Modan, to Dun Murogh and on into Coldridge Valley!

Running of the bulls (and cows!) sounds hilarious.
