Raid Buffs Symphony

BRK » 26 February 2008 » In Movie, Raids »

Remember the first time you heard your hunter get buffed? Whoa! What a cool sound! Those blessings and prayers and gifts sound incredible.

Well we finally captured our 25-person raid buffing all at the same time, right before we started clearing the trash to Leo the Blind. It sounds so cool! We especially love the “chewing” as the movie fades out.

  6. Vorian on February 26th, 2008 9:16 pm

I think it just happens when you try to look at the vids through his web site.

Try going to you tube and searching for Bigredkitty.

Thats how i was able to see the jump shot movie.

  10. For the Pie on February 26th, 2008 10:11 pm

Who is the goof running all over the place? Rogue or warrior cuz they are the only ones i know of that don’t have buffs or need food/water after buffs.

Not only does it sound cool, but it also looks really neat, especially when seen from a distance.

  13. BRK on February 26th, 2008 11:12 pm

Me thinks this video was just to test out your cool new intro.

This video was produced tonight totally to test out the new intro. We recorded it yesterday, but pounded it out specifically for the new intro. We do not deny it.

  14. For the Pie on February 26th, 2008 11:21 pm

Not that there is anything wrong with a new video with the new opening.

  15. Val on February 26th, 2008 11:46 pm

    Kinda cool, BRK.

but it brings up a question I’ve always had: WTH is that sound idle cats make? It’s like a yawn then a dripping noise…

    but anyways, cool intro ^_^

What I want to know is.. who’s the guy making figure eights? That’d be me, all full of pi*s & vinegar, can’t wait for the action to start and so excited to be there with my guildies. lol

  17. Anna on February 27th, 2008 12:40 am

    That’s so cool, BRK.

And, I’m sure I’m a huge nerd for admitting this, but I totally got that little surge of “ooohfunstuff!” adrenaline from the buffing like I do during real raids…

  18. Viktel on February 27th, 2008 1:51 am

LoL I always kinda wonder how the entire dungeon can’t know we are coming after their front doorstep looks like a cheap disco….

    Love the new intro

    Vik

Ha, that’s great. MY favourite is still PW:F though, with a bass boost it’s an amazing thudd of power. Lurvely.

You should have filmed a minute or so more. When 80% of the raid had to sit down and eat and drink. Comedy endings rule :)

On a side note, with my mage recently hitting 70 one of my favourite sounds is now Spellsteal, it’s an evil little sucking sound. But very rewarding.

Holy crap that intro is win!

  21. Rhust on February 27th, 2008 9:21 am

    :D

heh, prelude to ’symphony of destruction’

  22. Fathgar on February 27th, 2008 10:10 am

    @Val

The yawn is a yawn that the cat makes when he opens his mouth and stretches his back. Now that dripping noise is the noise of his jowls when he shakes his head back and forth. I have never really heard a cat make that noise but then again I have never been around huge cats like a Tiger or Lion to see if they make that noise. Now I know dogs make that noise, I have a boxer and I have heard him make that noise once or twice. Especially after a bath when he is trying to dry off.

Why oh why is Youtube blocked at work :(

Oh yeah, for reasons like this.

  24. eustacius on February 27th, 2008 10:42 am

YouTube firewalled. Could you please post a link to download?
    thanks!

  25. Rhoelyn on February 27th, 2008 11:26 am

You know… It -is- a beautiful set of sounds, isn’t it? Taken all together, and interspersed as it is with experience and a long history of raids, that whole ’symphony of the buff’ brings back a feeling of … potential. Optimism. Like, “here we are, sewing our parts into a big, strong whole that’s about to lay the smack down on someone much larger than we are.”

… now, look what you did. You got me feeling all poetically nostalgic. :P

Those of us who grew up with self-buffs from day one don’t often think to stop and savor the buffs. Thanks for sharing that perspective. :) I’m going to enjoy the ‘music’ next time we gather up to buff for raid.

    Best wishes,
    ~Rhoe

I like Hobbes yawn in the middle of it that was great.

  27. Adrus on February 27th, 2008 11:56 am

    Very cool intro!!!!

Buffs do sound cool but they can be a pain when everyone wants something other than what you put on them and if they get down to 5 minutes they start bugging you for a rebuff thats one of the main reasons I quit playing my pally(That and the burnout after running ZG 100 times to get epic gear that was trash a week after BC came out =P)…..

  28. Cynddl on February 27th, 2008 3:53 pm

    BRK,

Where were you standing during all that to capture that perspective?

  29. BRK on February 27th, 2008 5:15 pm

That was after Lurker, at the control panel that marks the entrance to the Tidewalker/Leo trash pulls.

  30. Bacaba on February 27th, 2008 6:32 pm

    @Fathgar

My Boxer makes that same sound some times. She even does the stretch thing.

  31. Cheetara on February 28th, 2008 1:31 am

    u win. that was awesome.

  32. Thomas Jones on February 28th, 2008 9:31 am

Still love the new intro. LOL Going to take some time to get used to it though. Keep the vids coming. Dont even need your voice, just keep the vids coming. lol

  33. Deemuhn on March 11th, 2008 4:10 pm

I chuckled when the Druids got their pally buffs.
