BRK Hidden Chamber Movie
Let’s have a little fun! You may know the way to Ironforge Airport, but have you ever been in the hidden chamber in Ironforge? Have you been to the king’s old throne room? We can show you the way!

Interesting didn’t think there was a way to do that on the blizzard servers just on the private ones people made. I’ll have to go do that now.

Very cool. Did you discover this yourself or were you tipped off?

WoW BRK your blog does have nearly everything now. PvP, Raids, Battlegrounds, Exploration, Anecdotes, Website reviews…

There’s also place very similar to that entrance in the airport as well that you can use eyes of the beast to run through. It’s in one of the buildings near the runway. Nice video.
Thanks BRK!

Kelektra on 28 Feb 2008 at 11:09 am #
Actually BRK, there’s another way to get back there, and you don’t have to be a hunter
Start a duel with your favourite Priest/Warlock/Warrior/other fearing class and stand in front of that door, when the duel starts, have them fear you, and you can get feared behind the door. Same thing works with a mage and polymorph, because of the roaming nature of the sheep.

FYI: Blizzard has announced that purposefully attempting to enter these zones can result in penalties. They are sealed off for a reason, and can result in temporary bans for characters caught in the sections inside Ironforge.
The Airport they are less strict about because you can simply run to it across the terrain, while getting into Old Ironforge requires direct effort to do so.
On that note, been there, done that. =o)

I’d try this, except I think my hunter will be killed before he gets that far into Iron Forge..being a Tauren and all
Róhirrim on 28 Feb 2008 at 12:06 pm #
Très coolio!
I’ll have to try this at some point.
I to was a little disappointed to see nothing but an empty platform though… At least they could’ve placed a chest there. :o)

Indeed, not to be a party pooper but going to this area is indeed frowned upon by blizz.
I would add an “at your own risk” disclaimer to your post as those that don’t read the comments might be unaware what they are doing could lead to a suspension.

Very cool.
There are TOTALLY hot Dwarf chicks! I have several of them.

Hey BRK,
Can you make a video teaching huntards how to use their pets (and thus get out of “tard”dom)? The “aggressive” “defensive” and “passive” properties are, I think, pretty easy to use, but some just don’t get it.
And perhaps the advanced hunter can learn something too. For instance: there is a huge mob to be MD pulled, and your pet is out of range, do you know how to send your pet in to attack, MD pull on your pet when it’s in range for the mob to get aggro on your pet, and then send it back to its original “stay” position while adding a dash/dive to stay away from getting hit?
The answer:
1) set pet on “stay” and “defensive” far from the mob
2) put MD on pet
3) run toward mob so you are in range of your bow/gun
4) tell pet to attack (no auto dash/dive)
5) shoot mob
6) put pet on “passive” - pet will run back to original “stay” position
7) add a dash
Fanthis ( Kargath ) on 28 Feb 2008 at 3:48 pm #
If your pet is out of range of your misdirect, you have other problems, it’s 100 yards.

I’ve watched this video 3 times and I still can’t see the Wu-Tang. This is the worst hidden chamber ever.
Ahrtu on 28 Feb 2008 at 4:05 pm #
I’ve heard about Blizz frowning on this sort of thing, but I can’t help imaging they’d at least give you one warning before a suspension. Also, I can’t for the life of me imagine why it would even matter to them? Really, what harm could possibly come? You’re gaining no benefit, only having a little fun, and not hurting any other players in the process. What’s the big deal?

That is a fun place. Once upon a time, a mage could just blink through that door…that’s how I saw it.
I also saw the IF airport and got into the border mountains between a few zones taking advantage of superior gnomish ledge-walking skills back in those days.
One good sign you’re in an area you shouldn’t be in…the terrain is very obviously cut-and-paste-tiles repetitive.
One bad sign, it can contain things like pits you can fall in but not climb out of.
One really bad sign…Guardians of Blizzard that are not happy to see you. I don’t know if they still use those these days.
Aha on 28 Feb 2008 at 5:35 pm #
I’m not quite sure how, but some time ago (possibly pre-BC) I was involved in an IF raid (I iz horde) and that’s where i was summoned to. Maybe thats why Blizz doesn’t like it.
Fanthis ( Kargath ) on 28 Feb 2008 at 5:42 pm #
Ahrtu,
That is exactly the type of attitude which usually ends up getting people suspended for days without warning. The big deal is, you were told “No”. It’s not as simple as walking your toon through a landscape, that landscape contains information which has been cut off from the rest of the server. You interacting it changes it, and can cause bugs amongst other things.
Equate it to your bedroom with siblings. Do you want them in your bedroom usually? Not reason. Why? They have no reason to be there, and if you tell them not to be in there and they are, you’ll not be happy.
You really won’t be happy if suddenly they bring 50 friends because they think your room is cool.
I’ll also bring up the fact that shows in the past ( Game Spot, PC Wars ) who have shown information like this give very real warnings that entering this or similarly disconnected areas can alter or corrupt your characters data, even so far as to render it unplayable. I would love to see the player who contacts a GM to restore a character, and their reason is that they glitched into a banned area.

Great stuff. I’ve been in there before by being feared through a wall, lol. Was kind of sad to realize there wasn’t anything at all, except big shiny rocks on the walls…ooooo….shineyz.
Indiswe on 28 Feb 2008 at 6:31 pm #
@ Fanthis ( Kargath )
It isn’t that casting the MD is out of range, but the distance from the mob to the pet is too far for the mob to aggro on the pet.
Here’s an example, minus the great BRK commentary:

I don’t know if there’s an easier way to do it, but one of the little valleys directly to the left of the Loch Modan side of the northern-most tunnel from LM to Dun Morogh can be jumped up with enough patience. From there it’s just a matter of exploring. Lay some flowers at the grave on top of the mountain for me.

I also have been inside of Old IF with some guildies. We used a different spot to get in, but either got feared or sheeped through the wall. I was on my mage alt, so I got to put a couple of them through. I was told at the time that Blizz doesn’t really want people in there, but I also think they would give some kind of warning. If it was that big of a problem, I think they would say something about it.
Right after we were done in Old IF, we headed up to the airport. I had been there once before a long time ago. Since I was on my mage, I used slow fall to jump off of the “Mt. Everest of WoW” and floated all the way down to the Wetlands outside of Menethil. That was fun.

what I liked about the IF Airport is getting on top of IF where the flag is, supposedly being the highest point in Azeroth. Well from there we would use Noggen Fogger before they nerfed it from the 2 min duration to 30sec we would see who could make it to Menthil Harbor from that flag. We made it a little race. I missed the Blacksmith roof by like a foot one time and I was so mad. but also from the IF Airport you can drop down the Menthil side of the mountain and check out the farms that were to be the old way from Menthil to IF.
Also a nice exploring place when noggen fogger was not nerfed was the dancing troll village. It is by Felwood going to Winterspring. All the NPCs are Horde flagged and if you attack them the Horde global defense would go off and they would have no idea what was going on. It was fun until a GM would be called in and catch you there. Getting there was fun, you would just have to terrain explore a bit, then pop a noggen fogger for the slow fall buff then jump and coast down until you were over the lake around the village then take off the slow fall buff and drop into the water. From there though the only way out was hearth or someone summon you.
It was some fun times.

Here is a minimap route to the IF Airport I made when I was practicing for the Gnaked Gnome Race (I wish I hadn’t, it was no fun ’cause I was just about the only one who took this route … so I became Croc bait big time).
http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/wow/IFairportRoute.bmp
The starting point is found if you go into Loch Modem through the tunnels … turn left immediately that you leave the second tunnel, jump-jump-jump till you can go up the first little valley, hang a left at the top, and then try to duplicate what you see on this map. If you want a guide on Uther pst Mudge, on Drenden pst Mudgette.

there is a spot along the outer corner of king’s room, that if you climb up to the right spot, you can /duel. /duel with a mage, then run down to that wall, and have the mage sheep you. Sheeped you can wander through the wall. If the sheep breaks on the other side, you can go walking through the other side. only way out is via death/hearth.

For those of you who are curious, there is another spot like this in Timbermaw Hold. In the room with the main Timbermaw folks, one side is blocked off by a ‘plug’. Going down here is… even more boring than the other area: a set of stairs leading into a lot of purple placeholder nothing. It looks as if it was intended to be linked to somewhere (a Felwood Instance, maybe?) and never actually got linked.
… or it was planned to link somewhere later and they haven’t got to it yet.
