Pitbull = Awesome (I use Pitbull.)

BUT

It has a huge learning curve and to really get exactly what you want out of it takes longer. AG is more ready out of the box, so to speak. It depends how OCD and how nitpicky you are.

I tried AG for awhile and not only does it have no pet happiness icon, it has no enemy cast bar! Why would the creators of AG think that excluding those two features would be a good idea?

I dislike Xperl too, because whenever a mob would so much as look at me I would get a huge red message across the middle of my screen that says -AGGRO-. Horribly annoying considering my alt is a tank. I haven't tried Pitbull. Does it a) have pet happiness icons and enemy cast bars and b) not paste huge messages over the middle of my screen when I'm trying to kill things?

Like so many others have said: Pitbull all the way. AG is Pitbull light, why settle for a watered down version when one can have the real deal? That's like ordering club soda in a Russian drinking bout where everyone else is slamming vodka!

@Ryan: The grid is only temporary, to give you some reference lines for aligning (hence the name) UI elements. For instance, I have my own unit frame down by my feet so I can see it easily at all times. My target is just to the right of my own frame. Using Align, I can position both frames so they're on exactly the same plane.

It's helpful for us Virgos. ;)

Another useful add-on to use in conjunction with Align (in fact, when used, it puts an Align grid on screen) is nShake (WoWAce): It allows you to grab almost any screen element and move it around. Most of the exceptions (e.g., Scrolling Combat Text) give you the ability to reposition elements anyway.

We've used AG since vix was a baby belf. they're awesome. The party mechanics and just the way they look make them better than some of the others. Perl, xperl, and pitbull all have more options, but for someone who mostly wants to just see the information, not have it spoon-fed and forced down with a bunch of extras, this is perfect.

I just have to comment about the the AV poll. I actually did do that last option once, I went to bed sometime around 1am Saturday morning after playing the AV match I started sometime around 5pm on Friday. When I woke up around 11am, I got up and logged back in, signed up for AV, and got right back into that same game that was still going on. Never imagined such a thing was possible til it happened.

I do miss the things that used to happen. Nobody ever summons Ivus or the Horde guy any more. I did the quest even for Korrak the Bloodrager, remember when he was still there? Good times.

I'm using xPerl myself right now, and it's ok. I'd rather they estimate remaining life, but oh well. Now I've heard a lot about ACE before, but I never really understood why it's so much better. I will have to do some research into the addon, as my current addons are... hrm, crowding the screen a bit much. (And my square map hasn't told all it's buttons that it is, indeed, a square now. /rolleyes)
