Can She Be On Our Team?

BRK » 29 March 2008 » In PvP »

wsg.jpeg“Dear BRK, I got home from work the other night and my daughter was running her hunter in WSG. Went to the kitchen to unload some groceries and I hear form the living room, ‘Hey Dad, I captured the flag’.

“‘That’s great honey, good job,’ I go about my business. My daughters both are strictly for-fun kinda players. This particular level 28 hunter wears an Azure Blue Hood, cloth and about 20 armor, but “it looks pretty”.

“Five minutes later, ‘Hey Dad, I captured the flag again.’ At this point I go to watch and to check the log to make sure she’s not making stuff up or that she just grabbed the flag and called that capping. Nope, she did it…twice. The team goes on win the BG. I’m the proud papa of a natural born killer.

“Oh, by the way….in real life this hunter turned 7 on Easter Sunday. Eltiburon”

This has nothing to do with PvP, but here’s our list of our Big Time Coffee Place Ratings:

5. Starbucks - Basically nothing from them tastes good at all.

4. Seattle’s Best - Expensive but not wretched.

3. Dunkin Donuts - Cheap and filling, doesn’t make us wish we’d just bought an A&W Cream Soda

2. Cuppys - A good selection of Monin syrup and they are very friendly at our local franchise.

1. Barnies - Best mass-produced coffee we’ve found, period. The barista makes a big difference, though. There’s one guy there who couldn’t spell ‘coffee’ if we spotted him two Fs, two E’s, three Ms and a silent Q.

Ugghh… not the candy coffee again….

Tell ya what. Figure out a way I can send you a package, and I’ll send you a pack of Trader Joe’s best italian roast, and their Volcano mix. You’ll need to actually brew it (and grind it) yourself, but, you’ll get to smell and taste real coffee.

I’ve lurked here a while, but you just commented on coffee, and while you may have schooled me on hunters, you need to be schooled on coffee.

Don’t ever, ever, ever go to any of those places.

    Pick up beans from either;
    http://www.intelligentsiacoffee.com/retail
    or
    http://ritualroasters.com/

Yes, it’s more money and you have to do it at home. But the difference between artisan roasted coffee, and mass produced sludge, is worth it.

    If you’re stuck on going out;

I think that covers it in as short a paragraph as possible..

    Pepsodent & Floss.

    PS.

(Hell I’ll go along with the first comment, I’ll home-roast you some of my beans if you really wanna try something crazy :p)

Any list that doesn’t include Peet’s Coffee isn’t a coffee list at all! I will excuse you though, because I believe you don’t live near where one is.

Hell,I buy a can of Folgers Mountain Roast and call it a day.Cheap, tastes okay and plentiful. One can still lasts me awhile even on my “three pots a day” habit.

You didn’t include “Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf”, which me and the dearest love, or “Cutter’s Point”. Cutter’s Point might be more local to the Seattle-ish area though, so I’ll forgive ya. :) (And CB&TL is CA and NY apparently.. :( )

@Cotytto… I’ve never been able to go back to canned coffee. It’s just nasty bitter gross once you’ve had beans.

Level 28? That’s the second most twinked bracket… good going and congratulations to the teeny hunter! And happy birthday. ^_^

On coffee - bleh! Try some nice vanilla chai, guys, your tastebuds will thank you for it.

Next time you’re on the West Coast, BRK, check out Peete’s. Best coffee in America.

#2: Tim Horton’s — but not many markets in the US. Yet.

Now that’s some girl power, good job! :o)

Love that Timmy’s was mentioned in here. To Canadians it’s their ambrosia and their crack. Also much kudos to the Monty Python Book Shop sketch reference. It’s one of my favourites.

Maybe you should try W.H. Smith’s.

“Friends don’t let friends drink Starbucks”
    - bumper sticker.

If you ever make it to Anchorage, AK, be sure to check out Cafe Fonte, Kaladdi Bros, and Cafe del Mundo. You’ll never want to drink anyone else’s swill after that.

Let me know how I can get some kona to you. You more than deserve it.

Sure, starting with good coffee is important but the barista is critical. I drink at mainly one coffee shop and each barista’s americano’s taste different.

btw ever try a strip of orange peel in your americano? (but no pithy white! icky. just the zest) It’s an interesting variation that I’ve become rather attached to.

pollys.com - Best coffee period (Roasted daily)

These guys have 2 Starbucks within a block of them and are having no problem competing with their swill. On the other hand, Starbucks does make some of the best Chai Lattes.

7 yrs? And they’re only at L28? Slackers.

Friend of a Friend’s kid (for reals, I’ve met him) has a L68 (last I heard several months ago), and he raids with his parents. He’s only 4. He plays on Proudmoore, but I don’t happen to know his toon’s name.
