Well, the lack of BRK Updates is due to real-life issues, such as Mrs BRK telling The Man to TTJASI, and TJ, the BRK EA, being too swamped with work to do anything but work and take pictures of stuffed ninjas. Life’s tough, folks, you’ll have to bear with us for a while.

The n52te review is coming, we promise.

Tonight we’re hoping to do a Hydross video. Maybe Leo the Blind. Maybe.

Someone transcribed our Lurker Below movie. We’ll be putting that file on the BRK Server and making it available for download ASAP. /appreciation

We have two Hearts of Darkness and no leatherworking shoulder-pattern to use them. We lost the bid on the pattern, and we haven’t seen the pattern since. /grumble

AC almost downed Al’ar on our first night of trying him. We even had a brand new holy pally with us and we still almost beat it. Are the night elf hunters in our guild going to bid on the Arcanite Steam Pistol if it drops? They’re all still using the Sunfury bow, so it wouldn’t surprise us if they did. We hope they don’t, and not just because we want it for ourselves. We time our shots on sound, and having another hunter with a gun in our raid messes up our shot-rotation.

Lady Vash is no fun. We’ve said that, but it bears repeating.

We had Kung Pao Chicken, extra hot, for lunch. Yeehaa! Our face is numb.

The newest client out at work is SpaceX. Want to launch your own satellite, they’re pretty inexpensive, and they finance!

    I had to laugh at other hunters with guns messing up your timing. I have a NE Hunter with a gun and I time by sound occasionally too. There were some add ons that allowed you to modify the gun sounds and I played with it a while to find a unique sound I could have my gun make, but last I saw they were no longer being updated. :-(
    Oh well. Hope to see the n53te review soon.

    There are ways to make your gun sound like something else. I don’t know how ‘game-legal’ doing that is, but the add-ons that do it work just fine in 2.4. At least the one I use, if I used one, which I don’t cause that might break an EULA or something.

    As someone who times her shots by sound as well (albeit with a bow) I understand your pain in that regard! Good luck on that bow, and on serving up a barbecued turkey-god!

    Also - Yes. Vashj sucks. She really needs to find a new hairdresser as well…

    Good luck on the roll if the Steam Pistol drops. I don’t think you’re alone in timing your shots based on sound, which is one reason I prefer Guns to Bows. Besides, we definately wouldn’t want anything messing with MQoSRDPS now would we?!?

    I know your pain with the auditory timing. A while back i picked up Zanzer’s Hunter Mod (more commonly called ZHunter) and fell in love with it. In addition to the skillfully managed aspects, tracking, traps, and pet abilities… It has a great autoshot cast bar. I use this bar constantly. I move it right under my own player frame and watch my steadyshot cast time in relation to my auto cast time. The mod hasn’t been updated in forever but has never broken for me. I would highly recomend it.

    Also… yall should poke your heads into Mount Hyjal sometime soon. Two nights ago my guild poked their heads into MH and managed to down 7 of the 8 waves before the first boss (who is a big push over). And we were no where near prepared for the encounter when we entered. It was just a fly by the seat of your pants fun kinda deal. Your guilds progress has paralleled my guilds progress over the year or so I’ve been reading your posts so im fairly sure you guys will do quite well in there.

    Oh and I forgot to mention… its fun. Lots of fun. Hunter kiting is an integral part of the encounter. Gotta love that.

    I leave the sound off most of the time when I play WoW. It annoys my wife when she is reading. I’ve gotten used to using Quartz timer to time my shots. It’s big and visible while I’m shooting and it disappears when I don’t need it. It also keeps track of latency fairly well.

    Do you get to supervise the spaceX launches? I suppose you would if they use the Cape for some of the launches, right?

    Yay for shot-timing fun.

    If you wanna be sure that you don’t fugger up your timing when one of those sneaky, thieving Night Elves ninjas your gun, I would suggest sticking Kharthus somewhere nice and visible (mine’s right next to the pet bar) and just watch it while listening to your shots. Eventually you’ll be able to work off of either.

    I’ve always been a visual timer, I also tend to watch my arrows fly from the bow and hit the steady as I see the arms drop.

    I’m sure you’ll have a better way of doing it than that, but Kharthus might give you a hand while you figure something out.

    I like Karthus Hunter Timers as well, for more than the shot bar. It’ll allow you to display (or not) quite a few hunterish things. I find that showing duration of Feed Pet quite convienent, and cooldown/duration of Freezing Trap very useful.

    Someone? Sheesh… all that hard work and I don’t get my name in lights? Do you know how hard it is to listen to BRK over-and-over again trying to get the words *mostly* right? :)

    Kidding… glad to do it, and I’m hopeful that the person that requested it long ago finds it and finds it useful. There are plenty of written guides out there, but having a movie to go along with a guide that also *focuses* on what a hunter needs to do is pretty much the best thing ever.

    my Hunter is only 65, so i’m a bit of a Hunter nubbin, but in my experience the audio can be misleading - lag spikes of even 500ms for a few moments cause me to step on my Auto Shot.

    Quartz is my addon of choice for the mage, and now it’s my addon of choice for the Hunter.

    i’m a tactile person by nature; my ideal setup would be to have my Steady Shot key vibrate slightly whenever Auto Shot fires…

    but that’s wishful thinking.

    I turn off my sound and use Quartz (see WoWAce) to time my shots. Originally got the mod for timing Slam on my Warrior, but the basic idea’s close enough.

    I got the pattern last night for 100g hehe.

    Quartz is the best for Auto Shot cast bar because it takes into account your latency. It also has enemy cast bar too.
