What Raiding Progression Looks Like
We are through Phase 2; Aetherial Circle can get all four generators down. Now we just need to not die, kill the adds a little faster, and clean up phase 3.
We’re almost there!
We are using an elemental Shaman as the kiter, and we personally are doing dual-zone duty, keeping the population of the elemental-adds at zero and tossing cores when needed.
Tomorrow is Al’ar and Solarian, and then our first look at Mount Hyjal.
We remember when Burning Crusade was coming out and the attunement chart was… daunting. Well, heck, here it is:
BC came out January 16th, 2007. Tomorrow is April 21, 2008. That’s how long it’s taken us to get here. No we haven’t completed the original final-attunement requirements, but still, tomorrow is a Big Day.
And a final note.
For The Horde (Because It Sounds So D@mn Sexy) had a great bit about what it’s like to be a BM hunter who understands shot-rotations and aggro and mana-management:
“My DPS goes through the roof and even though I keep up the same shot rotation, the difference is totally noticeable. I’ve been soloing group quests, killing elites and just pretty much running amok on anything that crosses my path.”
Yeah, baby, that is sexy. /applaud

Congratulations, I’m sure you’ll get Vashj down soon enough
Good luck with Hyjal tomorrow!

i wonder what your plan is on bats….i specced MM with range so i could nuke them out of the sky.
you can use aff locks but MM hunters make it easy mode. it’s also super easy to burst the elementals down on a side with no melee help MM specced too.
This is the ONLY fight i have done that didn’t do BM. fortunatly we are finished with vashj because she just became no fun.

Woot! Thanks for the link BRK. And yes, our DPS is sexy!

Grats, BRK!
And yes, the “Shot Rotation Magic” would be ideal for soloing and grinding. Wouldn’t recommend it in a raid environment if you are looking to max your DPS.

i just want to say that the various discussions on this site over the past few days led me to a 2-hour respec/test/repeat session with dr boom.
and this isn’t even on my hunter…
gratz on prompting some truly useful debate.

I agree with Nick…The Dr Boom dps trick really made my day. Different spells, different specs, different pots.
Definitely passing this one on!

My guild is still in Kara (in no small part because most of us didn’t start playing the game until about a year ago) but I’m happy with where we’re at.
Good luuuuuuuck in Hyjal!

How does an Ele Shammy kite them? Totems? I thought the striders were immune to Frost?
/shrug
I don’t remember.
We downed the 1st and 2nd boss in Hyjal last night. We went after the third boss in the Horde town and got him down to 28% on the first try. We took a 2nd stab bit it was a total debocle, making it apparent that everyone was tired so we called it. I assure you his demise is in our immediate future.

I can relate to that screenshot… my raid just started attempting Kael Kael, and it is pretty painful… so we do Magtheridon first so we can at least get some gold, gems and loot and be motivated for Kael
Felandra on 21 Apr 2008 at 9:38 pm #
My guild and I took our first stab at Mount Hyjal this sunday evening. And while we failed in downing Rage, we learned the fights quickly. And on our first attempt on Rage we got him to 56% with people in blues and other people with only one Kara under their belt.
Not that we are just outside Kara, but many of our best raiders were simply not home for the try. Especially our top tank.
That has lead us to believe that Rage is totally doable and almost a rollover if you have your best people in a focused state.
Furio on 22 Apr 2008 at 12:08 am #
yes rage is a total joke compared to vashj and even kael. the first 2 bosses in bt and hyjal are a reward for taking the time to down vashj and kael.
now that the attunment is gone i can’t see how it could be as fullfilling. the loot table for rage is pretty awful too. the other 3 bosses are almost as easy and drop far better gear.
Logan on 22 Apr 2008 at 10:06 am #
I still think it’s a shame that they removed the attunements for BT and Hyjal, but I applaud BRK and AC for still putting in the time to learn and kill Vashj and Kael. IMO the bosses in t6 content don’t even begin to compare to the difficulty of SquidSnakeLady and FancyGiantBloodElfGuy until Archimonde in MH and Gurtogg Bloodboil in BT. Kudos to you all.
@Furio- Rage drops the best caster offhand in the game. That’s enough reason for my selfish behind to look forward to killing him every week (and curse his reluctance to drop said offhand).

Where’s Black Temple and Mag’s Lair?
Rob on 22 Apr 2008 at 1:43 pm #
BT is in shadowmoon valley, its a huge structure. I don’t know how to get in, never been there. Something about sewers and that annoying quest chain with the slave guys.
Mag, i have been there. its at the bottom of hellfire citadel. Where you go up to go to blood furnace, just jump down. You’ll see a summon stone and a portal on the left as you jump down.
Messyah on 22 Apr 2008 at 4:59 pm #
ROFL @ Rob, I mean where is it in the chart, sorry. Ha ha ha ha.
