Guns and Gorillas
Thank you, Zul’Aman timed event! The Stat Summary is comparing this beaut against our Barrel-Blade Longrifle.
It’s at this point where we point out the Rating Buster has problems with the scope. And then we seem to think that a bunch of people will write in and say, “You noob, it works like this…” But we don’t remember “this” and it really does look like RB is not taking the crit-scope into account in its equations…
But both guns have the scope, so it’s irrelevant.
Are we going to get into the, “This gun’s too slow!” argument? Perhaps, but we wish to do some research and testing ourselves. What it does do is make us drool for the Tier 5 leggings we know are just a quick four-SSC boss clear away. Then, we can put our haste-shoulders back on.
Now here’s a pretty gorilla! She’s done a great job getting this guy to 70, now if we can only convince her to stop meleeing.
Yes, Lolliy, we totally went there.

Dohhhh…..but but but…..
Hehe
I had that gun for a long time and it was great. I needed about 45 more haste to make it better than an unhasted WSR and I got it with the ZA chest cape and the normal MgT chest. Now that 2.4 is out, you can get even better with the badge chest and your haste shoulders.
hi,
yea last nite after i slapped on crit scope to the za bow from last boss, my sunfury bow (without the crit scope) still shows it had more crit! so i tink you are right that RB is not picking up the scope properly.
that being said, how would the za bow compare to the tusk gun?
I have also noticed that RB also dosent pick up the Aldor/scyer shoulder enchant
That gun is nice - just picked it up two days ago myself. Personally, as much as people gush over the WSR, I don’t find the speed to be as much of an advantage in practice as it is on paper, due to lag, reaction time, and the general ‘human factor’. I shoot for roughly a 2 second shot time. With haste rating factored in, Serpent’s Swiftness, and a 15% ammo pouch bonus, I have this at 2.08.
Anyway - comparing the Ancient Amani Longbow to this, this gun works out a lot better, especially for a BM hunter. The two are almost identical, save for two things - the speed factor, and haste rating vs armor penetration. Given the nature of armor penetration’s increasing usefulness as you stack more of it, I could see taking the bow over this if you already have a ton of AP… but otherwise, go with the gun.
I think rating buster dosent show any kind of enchants by default, personally i prefer this so you can compare the items themselves most of the time you´d put the same enchant or scope on in the end anyway.
However you will probably be able to configure it in there if you wish too.
// Manekk
By default, RatingBuster comes with the ‘Ignore Enchants’ option activated. Maybe you need to activated to show the effect of the scope.
Hmm how would you compare tuskbraker to the new badge bow? I already have 2.0 haste with the xbow but it’s sooo darn ugly hehe
Gratz on the gun, but I would suggest getting the new xbow, even if it is a little ugly.
BRK,
I have and tested both guns on Dr. Boom. No matter what macro/manually timed rotation I used I could not get the Tuskbreaker to outdamage the WSR doing a 1:1 rotation with (I)AotH up.
If you find a way more power to you, but I had no luck. I even tried wearing all (two) pieces of my haste gear (cape and chest from ZA) while wearing other gear with WSR and no luck. The closest I came is within 50dps of the WSR. I was honestly shocked that the divide was so wide.
So, I used it for PvP because it does do more damage per hit and you get fewer shots off in PvP.
Also, the new badge x-bow is Fugly but it is currently the 2nd best BM weapon in the game, behind the legendary. Use it for raids and put it away?
Second also, I don’t know about you but I’ve never had much luck with macros. I tried using and improving one for about a month and all that happened was I did less dps.
