The Beginning and End

How many Taurens does it to lag a server almost to oblivion? We had at least 373 baby bulls rev’d and frothy, not including those people who weren’t in Guild Moo. Like the people from European servers who couldn’t join a guild, we couldn’t count everybody.

So what do you do with 373 baby bulls when the prescribed Shatt-port fails due to lack of mages? You raid Ironforge of course.

Can 373 level 1-3 Taurens really raid IF? Well of course not, take a look.

Actually, a good majority made it to Eastvale Logging Camp, where they proceeded to reform and take out Hogger, we kid you not!

We’ll be doing our Big Honking Movie as soon as our fingers recover.

And the donations for Sharvan…

/bawl

You people are beyond the best. We are humbled to be among you. Be proud of yourselves, and Sharvan has probably not yet stopped laughing.

If you post pics, movies, or commentary about the run, let us know and we’ll link to you here!

    My census showed about 620.

Thanks, BRK–that was tons of fun!

    /mooo!

Awww, I am so glad you made the 500. It is just money, but it shows folks care.

  4. Tox on May 3rd, 2008 9:30 pm

That was so intense. I’m proud to say that I was the first to acquire and don the Purple Shirts. I got mine from Galertruby almost the instant he said anything about shirts. I was honored to take part in this madness and it was a privilege to wear the purple.

Thanks for this BRK and Ratter, you’ve made my month.

    Good Hunting,

I did the Big Red Kitty “Running of the Bulls” and when we were done a bunch of us raided Ironforge and the headed to the Tram to SW. I got hosed by a guard at the portal and bam guess what I was just outside of Eastvale Logging camp and rez’ed! Here is the shot to prove it. Hell of a run from the Tauren starting area to SW! MOO!!

This should be a yearly event… maybe charge (by honor) $1 per person to participate with the proceeds going in Sharva’s name to whatever charity she was fond of.

I somehow got the time wrong… I logged in at 7:30est and missed it. I managed to run to Tarren Mills before logging off but it was a hoot. And BRK SPOKE TO ME!

Congrats! I only wish my messed up work schedule had let me attend.

  9. Rene (Sabadogigant) on May 3rd, 2008 11:21 pm

The event was AWESOME! So much fun and people having a good time just being silly. This was by far the most fun I have had on WOW in quite some time.

I have several screenshots of the days fun if you would like them. Would you like me to send them to the address on the website or to another account? Just let me know.

Thanks to you and everyone else who had a hand in organizing the event! I hope we will get to do something like this again real soon.

    Moo! And For The Herd!

I Frapsed most of my run, as well as the raid on IF and some of the adventures of the herd in Elwynn, but I first need to find a program to edit the video in.

Until then, I’ve posted what screenshots I took here: http://aspectofthecapricious.blogspot.com/2008/05/running-of-da-bulls.html

Thanks for organising another great race, BRK and Ratshag.

  14. Tigersoul on May 4th, 2008 1:17 am

Thanks for putting this together! I enjoyed it a lot and died about 7 times – NOT counting Ironforge deaths… but I got some decent screenies!

    Way to go!

    Thanks again!

  15. rdbmoo on May 4th, 2008 1:46 am

i managed to pre-run with everyone but unfortunatly i had to eat at 7 (curses at being at home because college ended for the semester). Glad to see that they made it to hogger like we’ve been talking about all day. :)

aye i did not make it across the finish line do to real life stuff =\.
left my corpe, Runofdabullz i believe his name is, laying in silverpine along the road…. figure its a good memorial for all those who walk through silverpine forest on teh cenarion realm… huzzah it was fun tho!

  17. Evil Sheep on May 4th, 2008 3:10 am

Sorry I couldn’t be there, guys. My three-year-old decided to show her demonic side today, and that throws all plans out the window.

Glad you made the 500 BRK, it shows that WoW players are the best gaming community out there.

    /moo for Sharvan

  18. Trialacc on May 4th, 2008 4:30 am

Moo that was fun, the run started at 02am for me(Finland).
I gave up after hammerfall, raiding hogger was too far away.
I hope more Europeans will join next run. Its easy, make a trial account(just google some address) when that is done modify the realmlist.wtf and you are ready to go.
BRK, make a trial on some EU server and come run with us.

Next time moderate the rodb channel so you dont have to shout orders, and ppl who dont want to see the /y /s /1 spam can just ignore those channels.

  19. Gnorly on May 4th, 2008 5:30 am

I wanted you to know, you managed to inspire my guild into a 100% attendance! Granted, even though my guild only has 13 unique accounts, that’s difficult to do.

I was Forresst! I ran! Until I didn’t want to run no more. And I had to go pick up my little brother from work.

That was insane amounts of fun, and I’m really glad we could all go.

    <3 :D

  20. Softi on May 4th, 2008 7:05 am

I’m glad the run went well – I bet Sharvan would have loved it! I wish I could have been there but it was just too late for me to stay up for it here in the UK (3yr old plus baby to play with at 6am >_<).

    Gratz on the donations!!

  21. Peloquin on May 4th, 2008 7:33 am

European players?! How did they manage that? I’d have come if I’d have known of a way in to your silly servers.

  22. Autumnn on May 4th, 2008 8:47 am

Thank you BRK and others for all the fun. It honestly was the best cross server event I have been to. I have some pics up at my blog.

    /moo

  23. Kleshta on May 4th, 2008 8:47 am

Sounded like a really fun event ! what a shame i was working and could’nt be here :( GG BRK !! and GG for the donations too !

Peloquin > i presume you could take an US trial account and download the US client (or maybe tweaking the realms.wtf of the EU version & take the trial) never tried :) i’ll do some research for the next event i WANT to be here !

PS : trial is the solution i think by the fact that EU players cannot join Moo Guild (trial cannot join guild if i remember correctly)

  24. Persa on May 4th, 2008 10:59 am

Some of us logged in this morning, and have decided we’ll come back to these characters to level, at least from time to time.

We’re rather hoping those of you who got shirts, but plan to delete your racer, will pass them along to someone who’s staying.

I had fun, and I’d be looking at more of the pictures, but Persa’s only 4, and she wants to tame her pet before the day is out.

  25. WarcraftMom on May 4th, 2008 12:39 pm

Here ya go, our movie of the big event. http://warcraftfamily.blogspot.com/2008/05/we-ran-with-da-bulls.html

Lots of shots of the beginning which was amazing. The commentary from my son once we got to Sliverpine is delightful, at least to his mom. We actually made it all the way to the Hogger raid and helped take him out. But our movie ends with a massive corpse run up to the gates of IF.

Thanks a million to BRK and Ratshag. This was much more fun than going with Dad to his awards dinner last night.

  26. Kraghoof on May 4th, 2008 12:46 pm

I posted an update on the LiveJournal WoW community, which is where I first heard of the event:

    http://community.livejournal.com/worldofwarcraft/6874061.html

Includes just a couple of screenies from the Alliance side…

  27. corwyn on May 4th, 2008 1:16 pm

Thanks for the fun BRK. I hope it eased the pain of those who knew Sharvan.

I have to cry… With my computer at the shop I was unable to even attempt to get a US trial to join up.

It’s almost unfair, I missed the Gnaked Gnome race too.

  32. Frettchen on May 5th, 2008 12:18 am

made it, had fun, and was on the raids for Hogger. Glad that the donation amount was reached. Logged in today and saw the guild was still up, with Persa and Kunukia and others greeting me. That’s nice.

I also had a great time on the run :) (Vacamarron) I LOL’ed at how lag affected my computer when the run actually started.. herds of cows running in place, only to speed up in super fast-forward about 100 yards when my 4FPS caught up for a second. I got called away before I even made it to the barrens for dinner, but I came back and got onto the zeppelin at about the time someone actually won :) Congrats to the winner, and it was a blast doing this. What a blast that was! I think your numbers are under-stated, as a lot of people asked for a guild invite and it was announced that the guild had reached its allowed limit.

Wish I could have stuck around for what came after, but real life intervened. I would much rather have stuck around after the races, but that would have risked husband aggro.
