We are Iron Man
We claim it, we said it first, it’s ours. You may register your complaint with the BRK Is Totally Right office.
And where’s our Audi R8? Hello?
We would claim Gwyneth as well, but… um, we might get in trouble.
In other news.
The next BRK Event is in pre-planning! You want a hint?
Well, you can’t have one.
See? Iron Man. /tough
“C’mon BRK!! Pleeeease?”
Well… if you promise to keep it quiet.
The next event is…
A secret. /Ironman
As we were saying, in other news.
Tonight, AC goes after Lady Vashj. We punched through the Phase 2 Barrier two weeks ago, took a break last week as Fiopalooza took the GM on a quick tour of the eastern seaboard, and are now prepared to get some Tier 5 head-armor goodness. Wish us luck.
Mania has basically been making the Hunter Pet Developers her personal beyotch.
Blizz Dev: “Hunter pets’ Growl does not scale with their AP on the PTR.”
Mania: “Um, yes it does.”
BD: “Go check the PTR, it doesn’t.”
Mania: “I’m on the PTR, it does. The math checks out.”
BD: “Um, I’m not the programmer, but they tell me it doesn’t.”
Mania: “I’m not a Blizz programmer, but I AM a programmer, and yes, it does.”
BD: “…”
Mania: “It. Does.”
BD: “Why don’t you go play a Warlock?”
Mania: “Loser. Paint my house.”
This is like a direct quote from her, no lie. This and other such technical discussions are available on her blog.
We’re going to play a small, practical joke on OutOfMana. You are going to help. /shhh
“You don’t even have another event in mind, do you!”
Sure we do.
“Tell us!”
You want a hint?
“YES!”
OK fine. Be that way.
Hint #1: It shall be Alliance-based.
Hint #2: You will be level one to start, you won’t be at the end.
Hint #3: Any class, any gender, any Alliance race.
Hint #4: It shall not be a race in an A-to-B sense, but there will be a time-limit. We think an hour should suffice.
Hint #5: There will be very few restrictions, other than you must be level 1 to start.
Hint #6: The server will be a secret until very close to race day, but it will be a US server. Twenty-four hours notice of the specific server might be the limit. It might even be a PvP server. This Hint is the one most likely to change, however.
Hint #7: The time will be 7pm EDT, 11pm GMT. This seems to work best, don’t count on this Hint changing.
Hint #8: We think we’re going to try for Saturday, July 5th.
Hint #9: It will not be a leveling competition.
Hint #10: You might want to bring a buddy, or four.
Is your interest piqued yet?

I’ll be there! Thanks for yesterday, that was awesome! The shirts were a great touch (thanks everyone who put up mats and crafted them)
1. I totally saw you in the IF lava gutters seconds before a guard killed me for the nth time
2. Thanks to the horde 70’s clearing the roadside trash in arathi for the end of the race
3. The screenshot I got of crossing the bridge from Arathi Highlands to the wetlands is itemlevel 149
Edit: sorry if this post is out of place, with my interests peaked so much I clicked to comment before reading below. What a beautiful message from Sharvan’s family…thank you BRK for being such a positive force in WoW
Balrok on 04 May 2008 at 7:11 pm #
Hmmm, Ironman you say. Could it be a swim / bike / run? Well, not so sure on the bike part.
Bowfinger on 04 May 2008 at 7:39 pm #
Just wanted to point out that if you do this on a PvP server, it will eliminate those who already have Horde toons on the server.
That said, looking forward to whatever it is.
Zball on 04 May 2008 at 7:45 pm #
Sorry, BRK, but you’re not the first.
Ozzy is Iron Man.
Unless BRK = Ozzy?

That’s piqued, not peaked. Peaked is when you have reached the apex, or the pointy top of something. Just saying…
And, yes, I am piqued…

My guess is that the next event will be to see who can down something the fastest, my reasons are as follows: bring a buddy or 5, a time limit, and server to be determined.
Erthshade on 04 May 2008 at 9:02 pm #
Either that or a scavenger hunt type thing for gray/white items, which would be a good reason to not reveal the server.
Personally I’m waiting for October, when I fully expect someone to do a Level 1 dwarf ‘longest keg run’.
Varu on 04 May 2008 at 9:05 pm #
omg it’s a level 1 arena tournament!!!!1 no? /pout
FWIW on 04 May 2008 at 9:18 pm #
I think it’s some sort of collect x of y type contest.
But I’m confused on the whole “buddy” hint. Unless BRK happens to chose someone’s home server, many of us will not know anyone to ever buddy up with.
Softi on 04 May 2008 at 9:31 pm #
::scratches head:: what could it be…? Very intrigued now! I might even make a trial account for this one, since it won’t be starting *too* late for me!

I am highly intrigued, but I so wish you would have some of these events during the week. I can never make them since I work 16 hours every saturday and 16 more every sunday, so sadly, I cannot be there for this event that sounds amazingly fantastic.
/cry but looking at it, I have a feeling it’s going to be a “who can finish deadmines the fastest” kinda thing…damn..that was the first instance I ever did too
Nick S. on 05 May 2008 at 2:58 am #
i think a leveling race sounds like fun, but i’m intrigued to see what your plans are… wouldn’t it be fun to sign up teams of 5 people who’ve never met each other, let them loose on level-1 characters (all quests must be done in party!) and see who can finish deadmines or RFC first?
Lukast on 05 May 2008 at 4:00 am #
An hour is too short to get a level 1 group into Deadmines, let alone through it. My bet is hogger:P A full group of level 4 or 5’s could take him. Although that would be unfair on everyone who didn’t roll human. Hmm.
Peloquin on 05 May 2008 at 7:58 am #
Hogger Raid!
Kordwar on 05 May 2008 at 8:05 am #
it’s not alliance but i always liked the idea of “dawn of the dead”, a lvl 1 undead raid on a town. a few hundred shouting “brains!” would be pretty awesome.

To make “sign-up” teams would be a massive undertaking with 500 people loggng in mostly 5-15 mins prior to the start of the race in all the different zones. Not to mention the chaos…and it’s only an hour long event, would take about that long just to find a group.
BRK, we demand clarification!
Guess on 05 May 2008 at 11:19 am #
It’ll be an iron-man relay race which is why you need buddies!
Okki on 05 May 2008 at 1:18 pm #
I’ve got a bit of a tangencial “noob” question for the frequenters of BRK. I’ve heard in many places that Sunfury is better than Glad Xbow for BM dps but I cant see why. I’m using the 3.1 speed Glad Xbow and can do between 950-1k dps raid buffed depending on fight and buffs. I use a steady-steady-auto rotation fitting in arcane and multi whenever mana allows. On my second steady shot, it will always clip my auto shot by a small ammount. If I were to take Sunfury, assuming I maintain the same shot rotation, it seems as though because of the decrease in damage range my shots will hit for less and I’ll have more clip time on my second steady shot. Is this accurate? Why is Sunfury better than Glad Xbow. Please, I need a conclusive opinion!

Alright… need to put a little wrench in the gears here. Iron Man, under no circumstances, is going to drink something as frilly and fru fru as a raspberry mocha or latte or whatever. Iron Man drinks coffee. Black. No cream. No sugar. Caffeine. Straight up please. Probably has an intravenous black coffee injector built into the suit.
Tony Stark may drink cappuccinos or espressos or some fancy European style espresso drink, but I guarantee you no ridiculous flavored syrups are involved.
No wonder the Europeans think our coffee habits are gauche. What people put into a latte or mocha these days is ridiculous. More milk and sugar than actual coffee or espresso! Might as well be drinking a cake or a candy bar through a straw!

Took my son to see Ironman this weekend… they did that movie pretty good. I was nervous as I’m an old-time comic book Ironman fan, but they did him right.
Although Ms. Pots was… unimpressive. A couple nice quips: “Sometimes I even take out the trash.” was classic.
But horribly acted I thought, which was surprising from Gwyneth.
