Time to Beat the Wife
BRK: “Hey Ratshag! We haz ranged-DPS opening for our 5/6 SSC clear, wanna come?”
Ratshag: …
BRK: “Phat loot, good times?”
Ratshag: …
BRK: “Hey! Over-stacked 25-mans and basically free Tier 5 squishie goodness!”
Ratshag: …
BRK to guild: “He’s AFK or something, grab the rogue and let’s go.”
Ratshag: …
And what drops off of Fathom-Lord? Triple Defender tokens, foshizzle. Whatever the “family” needed from you, it cost you Tier 5 leggings. Beatin’-time.
Also.
Note to self: When your entire ranged-DPS group is 3/5 Tier 5 and your tanks are wearing resist-gear, they cannot generate aggro as well as you can. It is possible, for we have now seen it, to grab aggro from Hydross even when lying on the ground from a Feign Death and the FD wasn’t resisted. Hydross wiped out the entire ranged DPS group; Group 3 was one-shot. Ouchie! We think the rest of the raid stabbed and thwacked Hydross down the last transition.
And.
Tried to do a movie of Leo. First whirlwind, he put the Bleed on us and Hobbes. We quit recording, knowing Hobbes was going to die and we were furious. Then from out of nowhere, someone cleansed Hobbes and healed his furry butt. We screamed some more; we missed recording it.
Finally.
Real-life has gotten very busy again. Postings may be slowed. Heck, they have been slowed, period. We’re behind on our email, our postings, our movies, our money-making activities, etc. Please be patient.
If you’d like to write a guest post, talk to us, baby.

Ouch. That must sting for the esteemed Mr. Ratshag. Do you use imovie with your Mac to create your movies or another software sweet like Fraps? I have been thinking about recording some things, but not quite sure which to go with…. I suppose I could just experiment, but the vast source of knowledge that is the BRK, just easier to ask…. /lazy.
On a lesser note… I made a little hermit on Drenden to say hey /wave, but I missed you. I passed on the good word via Ratshag. Ratshag said I could be his non-combat pet and follow him around… sooooo… I will be raid member 25 1/2 when he makes it to SSC….

T5 legs, huh? Good, ’cause I weren’t alreadies disappointed and pissed off enough about not being able ta go. (I’d just old Cay I couldn’t make it when yer IMs popped up, and I just didn’t have it in me ta repeat meself)
@Hermit - Bad news, bro. Peanut the Elekk sez he wants ta go to SSC too, so you two buggers is gonna have ta wrestle fer it or sumthin’.

Oh man that must have hurt, seeing Hobbest getting cleaned up and all that, and not getting it on film. Would have been the perfect: “and here you see how a nice raid acts.”
Alevas, Raynmaker on 15 May 2008 at 9:24 am #
How exactly was Hobbes “cleansed” of the DoT?
Unless there was a change in 2.4, his DoT is uncleansable.
The only way I know of that Hobbes could be “cleansed” is if someone threw a BoP on him… and if that’s the case, shame on your paladins for using a CD on a hunter pet.
(the other options are Divine Shield which is a self-cast only, Stoneform, or Iceblock)
I’ve never played a dwarf hunter so I’m not sure but… if you stoneform, does your pet get his bleeds dropped also? If that’s the case, and you stoneformed, then he’d be “cleansed” and it was you “cleansing” him.
Due to the mechanics of feign death, there is no partial resist. You either have a complete aggro wipe down to ZERO threat or it is resisted. You actually exit combat when you feign death if it is not resisted. The only way you could have pulled aggro is if you had a serpent sting on him and popped up while it was still on and that SOMEHOW got you aggro (there’s sarcasm in there because a serpent sting is not going to get you aggro).

Wrestle Peanut… meh… I know he can take me… How about a pet dance off… If not, could I be Peanut’s non-combat pet?

Poor Ratshag. Too many wimmens needing him and one a little more pressing then others. You’ll get your chances soon enough Ratshag.

Hydross->Lurker->Vashj should be your order until the fishlady is dead! Maximize raid time spent on progression goals, it sounds like you’re overgeared for everything else and desperately need to move on in content.

Alevas has it right: there isn’t a way to remove the bleed effect from people unless a paladin throws Blessing of Protection on them. Mages are able to Ice Block while paladins can cast Divine Shield on themselves if needed.
And, sadly, Stoneform no longer removes the debuff.
Now, healers that are able and have the mana/time to do so should heal pets. This is especially important if the hunter is a Beast Mastery pet, since a significant chunk of the damage she does is from her animal companion. This sometimes isn’t possible when other raiders have priority — though I have healed pets over players when I honestly felt that they contributed less to a fight than the pets. With a main who is a Beast Mastery hunter, I know the joy of having a healer help keep the pet alive.
Leotheras is a ridiculously easy fight to heal, assuming that the vast majority of your raiders avoid the Whirlwind and so don’t get that nasty bleed effect. Your tanks don’t take a lot of damage and the demon tank (typically a warlock) usually has two or three dedicated healers who sit there and spam heals on him nonstop. This typically leaves four or so healers twiddling their fingers until Inner Demons pop up. I find myself healing pets frequently during this fight, since as a priest usually assigned the role of tank healing (irregardless of who is tanking at the time) I have more mana than I could ever possibly use throughout that fight. Even if I chose to Flash Heal the warlock tank every demon phase!

thats what happens when it works the way it is supposed to.
I was in kara last week, killing prince. He was at 50%, and I had FD 5-6 times so far, which is overkill, but to prevent an issue i had the week prior. 10 seconds after another FD, I pulled aggro, he came over to one shot me, and went straight back to the tank. I cannot think of ANY valid explanation for this, other than FD is badly bugged.
Omen showed me waaaaaaaaaaaaaay below the main tank on threat. Even if 3-4 of those FD’s resisted, theres no way imaginable that I could regain aggro off the main tank that quickly, considering how far into the fight we were.

They invited him, he couldn’t make it, so they sailed without him.
Because things he would’ve liked dropped in large amounts, they’re now teasing him after the fact.
No /gkick, no reprimands.
Sounds pretty casual to me.

I guess it makes me sick to think of gear being portrayed as more important than family, regardless of how far the tongue is pushed into the cheek.

god, I’ve been there.. it sucks… wife wanted to do dinner so I had to bail on a ZA run the night my shoulders dropped.

Hmm - ZA run > dinner with wife?
I’m with Dax on this one I think…

Defender tokens!?!?!
Your raid must have gotten ours. We got 3 hero tokens this week. And 2 last week. In fact we’ve been so unbalanced on Leo’s tokens that our hunters/mages/warlocks are rolling on the tokens for offset and for pvp, while half people that need Defender tokens just continue to /headdesk. Bah!
As for Hydross, remember back when your DPS couldn’t kill it fast enough? Loot drops, MOAR DPS and the tanking gear doesn’t change at all. We’ve just started skipping him. He doesn’t drop anything worth having now, and he’s just a pain in the butt.
For the Pie on 15 May 2008 at 2:59 pm #
I just want to know how Leo got a bleed effect on BRK and HOBBES? Hobbes I can see due to lag and not getting him out in time, but BRK?
/facepalm

/blogkick commenter, but with love
Dear Paladins, please ignore that guy, as nice and sweet-smelling as we’re sure he is. Heal BM Pets!
And we’re going to see Ratshag in Maggy tonight, and next Wednesday’s SSC. Don’t feel too bad for him; the wommen shall be thrusting themselves at his bad@ss self all night long. A tired and wornout Orc he will most likely be.
Alevas, Raynmaker (Uther) on 15 May 2008 at 6:02 pm #
HAHA BRK -
Paladins had better damn well be healing hunter pets (mine included!)… but the use of a BoP?! Even BigRedKitty can’t justify that…. can he?
hehehe.
I just realized I’m hybrid spec right now, but usually I’m BM with 4/5 Frenzy. Rock on!

I’d love to guest post if you looking for something to fill a spot. It would be magley though, which I think might be unpressidented on your blog.

BRK, there’s been talk on the forums about feign death not wiping aggro even if no resist message shows up. There was an official blue response saying they’re aware of it, but so far haven’t been able to duplicate the problem.
Guys, I think its safe to say BRK knows his guildies well enough to dish out some cruel jokes every now and then. He wasn’t advocating anyone ditch their family for loot. He’s just playing on the fact that Rat missed out. I think we’ve all been in that situation before where we WISHED we had gone, but opted for something better.

Would that be heresy?
You should just let Guy have it!
