Our Brain Is Full and We Have to Empty It
When TJ tells you she yells at us at 4pm every day, she’s not kidding. Today was a shriek-fest.
Johnsonville brats are not sausages. So sayeth BRK, so let it be done.
BRK’s Boy: “Daddy! Let’s play Scooby Doo! I’ll be Scooby Doo, the puppy can be Shaggy, and you can be Fred!”
BRK: “OK, Scooby Doo!”
BRK’s Boy: “Daddy! Fred doesn’t say ‘Scooby Doo’, only Scooby Doo says, ‘Scooby Doo’!”
BRK: “Well, what does Fred say?”
BRK’s Boy: “Nothing! Well, he does say, ‘Let’s split up’.”
Three words that let you know you’re in Florida: Caution, Burning Swamp.
Two words that let you know you’re in Florida: Gator Jerky.
Even if you tone down the Dueling Waterbottle-Lightsaber Battle with the girl from Systems Analysis, your boss will still get mad.
When Mrs BRK works late, ham and cheese crackers, fruit cocktail - extra cherries - and milk is a nutritious dinner for a child.
We haz them.
A good friend of ours recently took our advice and hired a BT-guild to get her a Amani War Bear mount. Cost her 5000 gold and she’s giddy. Each member of the raid earned 555 gold for 45 minutes work. Why aren’t more Tier-6 guilds doing this?
It is much more fun to kite the Mount Hyjal add-waves into the NPCs than it is to DPS them down. Our position on the damage meter may go down, but our enjoyment-factor skyrockets.
Having to do DKP-bidding during those same add-waves is a colossal PITA.
Watching your warlocks and mages break 2000 DPS on the Mount Hyjal add-waves makes our 1400 DPS look pitiful, which it really isn’t. Tuskbreaker plus a 3:2 Steady/Auto macro is pretty incredible, even we must admit. Yes that macro gulps mana like a Shuttle consumes liquid oxygen, but it’s really impressive to see those DPS numbers go up.
We are considering going dual-wield so we can use two Superior Mana Oils. We’d have to pass on the cloak we’re about to get, though. Veddy, veddy intewestink.

Johnsonville Brats are ground meat, spices and fat in a casing. Why are they not sausages?

Haha…I like your boy’s analysis on Fred…That is pretty much all he says
And good call on the extra cherry fruit cups! I always opt for the triple cherry variety
No idea what there is at your level, but I found I could get Felsteel Longblade x 2 ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23540 ) made on my server. Score! I plan on enchanting them with Agility and slapping Superior Mana Oil on ‘em when I raid as Surv. Depending on the stat difference from Legacy with Savagery, I might well vendor that poor 2h axe.
The cost of those Longblades? 50g each to get ‘em made, plus whatever is charged for Primal Might transmutes, plus the mats (usually farmed) and tips for the enchants. Which is still ten times cheaper than buying them off of AH. Some days it’s good to be Mining/Engineering over Skinning/Leatherworking.
Do some research though BRK. The mats aren’t that hard to farm up, and if you have the gold you seem to have, buying the ore/bars isn’t that bad either.
Say, weren’t you talking about doing an epic-gear review for melee weapons? Now might be the time.
I’m not sure what I am missing here, but.. what makes the Felsteel Longblade x 2 such a great combo? Terrok’s Quill gives 54 Agi and 33 Stam, if memory serves; can be obtained via normal mode Sethekk Halls; and doesn’t cost you 100+ gold..
/shrieks
You’ve been feeding him WHAT??!
So BRK uses macros now?
I never thought of that… dual-weilding and applying mana oil to both; the effect stacks?
If you are progressed enough into ZA, just beat up on Hex Lord a couple o’ times and get your paws on these:

yum yum yum yum yum delicioso!
Sorry BRK. Culinary school wins this battle. Johnsonville Brats are indeed sausages.
And we guess your wife might have a word with you about the missing vegetable component in the boy’s supper…;)
amen dude ….
hahahaha I couldn’t agree more about the adds in hyjal! Who even cares about the meters! Kiting into the NPC’s is waaaaaay more fun!
@Kruger
Why on earth does it matter? All BRK has EVER said on the issue is “this is what we like to do, but you should do Whatever Works For You.” BRK has just found found something other than hand timing steady shots that Works For Him, albeit in a pretty mana-inefficient way.
@Sade
I know it doesnt matter, it’s just that BRK was one of the few hunters who out there havent sold their soul to the macro god. I liked the fact that I could direct some hunters in my guild who do nothing but brag about how much dps they can do with such and such macro to this website and say this guy does it manually and can still kick your a$$ on the dps charts.
So no it doesnt matter, it’s just nice to know that I’m not the only hunter out there doing my shot rotations manually.
I’d be happy to do shot rotations manually. However, on an Oceanic server living in Australia I have a 500ms ping on a good day. The only difference between the Oceanic servers and the other US realms is the server clock. They are still all physically located in the US.
Macros enables me to overcome the massive lag. There’s no way I can manually weave shots as efficiently with my ping. I’ve wasted far too much ammo on Dr Boom testing these rotations. Even pre-casting my shots with Quartz, I can’t even come close. If I was located in the US with a ping of less than 200, I would happily eschew the macro but it’s too much of a DPS increase for me not to use it.
I’d be doing my raid and my guild a disservice if I wasn’t using every tool at my disposal to maximise my DPS. Being able to epeen about how good you are because you don’t need a macro doesn’t make my DPS any less significant than yours.
Quick question about duel wielding and hit rating. Does duel wielding effect our ranged miss percentage?
No, it does not. It only affects melee hit chance.
Never forget: As a hunter, your melee weapons are stats sticks.
As for better dual wielding choices than 2x Felsteel Longblade:
2x Umbral Shiv from second ZA timed chest:
socket 2x +10 Agi into each and enchant both with +20 Agi and get a total of 104 Agi (and 26 Hit)
2x Breeching Comet from Heroic MrT (Kael’thas):
socket 1x +10 Agi into each and enchant both with +20 Agi and get a total of 96 Agi (and 80 AP)
“it’s just nice to know that I’m not the only hunter out there doing my shot rotations manually”
Hell yes, us manual types have lost a valued brother but we’re stil out there. Macros? We don’t need no steenking macros!
Regarding dkp and thrash epics.
One of the reasons for us to leave the old bid type of dkp systems was to simplify the whole thing.
We now use a fixed dkp systems with diminishing returns. With a fixed item price the item in question goes to the one highest on the dkp standings list.
So basically the item is announced and peoplejust say need in raidchat. Then the one with the highest dkp gets the item.
Check out gsdkp.com.
Then to make the things even fairer to those helping to clear new instances we have separate dkp for t4/t5/t6 as we progress.
Now days we only run t6 dkp. t4 t5 loot is rolled for whenever we do alts-run back there.
So a tip for you guys would be to do separate t6 dkp using a fixed system. It really is a big time saver.
And if noone wants the item and feral tank can have it for 50% dkp (if its dps leather (kitty meow meow)). Else ppl can /roll for offspec (has to be offspec, no onspec offspec rolls) and have it for 0 dkp. We cant be bothered to gather more voids in the gbank.

A Horde guild on my server does it for 10k a bear, but my guild has decided not to sell them. Fiorst of all several of our own members still want one, especially after the revelation that they won’t be opbtainable once Lich King hits. Secondly, we want it to be something you have to prove yourself good at PvE to get. Not something you can simply go out and buy (there’s the Cenarion mount and the Spectral Tiger for that). When the expansion comes, we don’t want the server to be full of bears (alliance side anyway), we want them to be a symbol of the owners ability to play their char.
That’s what the officers in my guild have said in gchat anyway. You could argue that there’s probably players in other guilds who are just as skilled as those of us who do timed-ZA are, that they just never had the opportunity that we do. Fair enough, but how on earth would we separate them from the people who simply farm all day and have big wallets?
I don’t know why the hell anyone would waste 5000 gold or more on an Amani Bear, even if they did have their epic flyer. Maybe it’s just me, but I see many people on the bear mounts daily on my server, and they aren’t were awe-inspiring anymore. It saddens me that people have to buy them to get it, instead of working for it with their own guild.
I never thought of that… dual-weilding and applying mana oil to both; the effect stacks?
Mandragerin, they sure do! In fact, a lot of hunters in T5/T6/Sunwell have switched to dual-wielding after getting the badge crossbow and trying out the mana-intensive 3:2 shot rotation. They do it for two reasons: one, two Intellect enchants; two, two mana oils.
The current preferred dual-wielded weapon pre-T6 seems to be Netherbane from Al’ar. Most Survival hunters are snagging those; in fact, my priest’s 25-man just helped get our Survival hunter his second one about two weeks ago! I definitely plan on snagging two myself.
Well…things just happens, guys. BRK uses a macro, and I abandoned BM to support the raid with a survival hunter. It hurts. But no other hunter wanted to accept the sacrefice to leave they precious BM or MM talents.
/sigh
Totally raid spec, no goodness for PVP

I almost forget the feeling what is it like to be feared by a lock

Re buying bears… some of us, while we do have the skill, don’t have the time. I work nights, and weekends. There’s no way I can get into a raid that can clear ZA, because the only possible way is for me to pug it, and how likely is that? (if you want to look me up, I am the only 70 Azaram. Don’t bother ragging on me for my arena stats; I don’t care. I’m only in it at all to help a couple of friends. I hate PVP, and people who think that being able to jump constantly and exploit bugs makes them better than me.)
I’d much prefer to have the ZG tiger, but it’s nearly impossible to get five people to go with me, especially after one clown got a bunch of people to do it and when it dropped, apparently booted them all and took it himself. (Last time I saw him, he was in a guild named ‘Yes, I ninjaed it’.)
So, it’s not the way I’d prefer to do it, but it’s the only way I’m going to get it. I’d MUCH rather there was a druid quest of some sort to get my travel form up to mount speed. I’d put a hell of a lot of effort and time into that, and beg all my druid friends to help me. But this is what I got.
Azaram the Druid (Whose hunter is Kemonojin)
Shouldn’t it be that TJ wakes up at 4AM?
Agreeing with Rotseh
2x breeching comet is a great combination.
You have to be a bit lucky to get them quickly, but once you have them: Double 20Agi, Double Socket, Double Manaoil, go for it!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bratwurst
bratwurst IS sausage…
paying someone to get warbear is wrong, end of story
Doesn’t Shaggy say “zoinks!” a lot too?
I’ve never seen a Warbear OR a ZG tiger, but I don’t hang out in cities looking for them either.
I’d gladly pay any amount of gold for any of the rare mounts, if I had the money. Why not? It’s imaginary money for crying out loud. And having a mount that not everyone else has does NOT make you better or “separate” you in any way shape or form from those of us who aren’t in hard-core raiding guilds. It just means you have another graphic for a mount. It doesn’t mean you play your toon better, or your daddy can whoop my daddy or any other silly thing.
It just means your mount looks different than mine. *shrugs*
I still like the Winterspring tiger when it comes to rare-ish mounts. Its a helluva grind to get one, a long tedious grind, and i think that stands out.
One day, when i’m wandering around in full epics and I’ve got my epic flyer, i’ll go back to winterspring and grind out the rest. Until then, I’ll stick with the drunkards ram of choice, Swift Brewfest Ram!
And on another note, have recently started grinding in a dual wield combo again since Emerald Ripper dropped and no rogues were there to take it, double mana oil is great.
Mayniakfyve, Hunter on Aerie Peak
I just went dual wield because I got tired of the graphic of my 2 hander. I have http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/item-info.xml?i=30881 and http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/item-info.xml?i=32945 now.
Aboo, this makes rare mount available to anyone who knows how to kill a mob and skin it, or herb a flower, or mine a node, or play on AH, or (list continues) and thus makes a mount, that would otherwise show that you and 9 others are good enough (read grinding T5/6 for months) to make it to that timed chest, now will make ppl think - oh, just another slacker-goldbuyer
if we follow your logic, then new arena gear items shouldn’t have personal rating requirements too, why would they, they are just pixels on screen
and all character titles should be available to anyone as soon as they create a new toon
(list continues)
I have a bunch of mana oils and (from quests) Poisons- does mana oil help when you’re not Melee-ing? does a poison? A girl needs answers here!
@cor, a lot of things are ‘wrong’ but really, it’s not a big deal… it’s a victim-less crime… the person grinded up 5k gold, and got a bear mount, everyone in the raid maid 500g for under an hour.. everyone wins… kinda like prostitution I guess. I’d love a ZG tiger. it’s not like getting 1 mount over another makes your DPS better, or your heals bigger… it’s not the same as a piece of gear.
@Vixenytli & Chuck - mana oil works, works great… poisons do not… why? the poisons are “a chance on hit” meaning the weapon has to hit something to have a chance to proc. mana oil is just an effect… otherwise you’d see mages swinging a staff trying to get some mana back
oh, and I’d pay to see that melee mage
sans-clothes of course.
Rhust, actually Blizzard failed by implementing that mount in that way, they should have made it a random drop as all the others
I love running two daggers. Double chants, double mana oil, and the stats have generally been better than whatever 2h wpn came my way. Some of the fist wpns out there look pretty cool too. Also darn fun to win that dagger drop cause the rogue who wanted it decided to party offline that night, hehe.
As for running loot auctions during Mt hyjal waves, we dont. Instead we talk thru the possible trash drops ahead of time and ask who wants what if it drops and the loot officer then just uses that list to deliver the goods, no discussion needed. Yeah, it takes a few minutes, but its worth it.
You want a hot looking rare mount? My shaman’s still rockin the old school Ivory Raptor.
Pretty much any time I’m in a major city someone will ask me how to get it. And I’ve had people compliment me in BGs as well. Quite amusing.
I agree - there are better things out there to DW beyond Felsteel Longblades. However, with dual Agi enchants it is the best DW I’ve found for people in Kara/pre Kara. The obvious bonus is the fact you can have two oils at once, but properly enchanted it’s great for Survival.
Not to mention, you can only get the Quill once via a quest. Should you get it, then replace it later and vendor the thing, you can’t get it back. Also, you aren’t waiting on a drop you may or may not win. The Felsteels are just an option that I found, being stuck in a position where ZA is out of the question for me.
