Sunday Night Stuff
Wanna see what a Wipe Party in Black Temple looks like? Here ya go, and we are Europa. Got the first boss down to 14% and a “Break the shield!” went out over vent while the MT was under 50%. Doop. Good learning experience, though.
Grouping was a little off due to the raid composition; we once ended up in a four-healer party. Our druid with the Improved Faerie Fire couldn’t run, so we Missed some tonight; we are not Hit Capped on-purpose.
AC Recruitment is underway, application-acceptance is mostly complete. So far we’ve invited:
Rogue
Resto Druid
Survival Hunter
Frost Mage
Prot Pally
Resto Druid No. 2
We will be interviewing:
Shadow Priest
Holy Priest & Boomkin duo
BM Hunter
Destro Warlock (and we’re going to take all our warlocks and shut them in a room until one of them emerges as Affliction)
We are still looking for a RESTO SHAMAN!! We’d take two of them, actually.
Dear Resto Shaman,
Come to Black Temple, Mount Hyjal, etc. Get phat loot. Look pretty. Be our buddy.
Love, BRK
If you’re a resto shaman and want some of what Aetherial Circle has to offer, drop us a line, D@MN!T!

Damn again would love you to see how do i love my BM hunter
too bad i’am EU ^^
Don’t be discouraged BT is a bit hard the first time
keep the fun going
The raids DPS is too low. If you follow your wws link and then click on any of the tries and then click search wws for this boss you will see a big difference.
what Araz said.
it’s a stand-and-pewpew fight, for the most part. those on the list who aren’t breaking 800 dps need to shape up!
of course, there’s a lot of dying and trying-not-to-die and spike-catching and spike-throwing to be done, so i guess it’s forgivable to a degree.
i say it to my guildies all the time, and i’ll say it again - it’s possible for all dps classes to do 800 dps (on a stand-and-deliver type fight) with nothing better than karazhan gear.
i still want to know how your arcane mage does his business… when i was specced as i suspect he is specced, i couldn’t get a dollar’s worth of dps out of AB/AM rotations.
As much as I agree with the above two posters, I dont think he was asking for a WWS critque, thank you.
Actually, we were so far under the the enrage timer we were told not to focus on DPS… I know myself and the other feral started to off heal during his shield and right after which dropped our DPS way down from the initial attempts.
Maybe upping DPS we could have less shields to bring down? Dunno… I am Fog in that report… what a crappy name.
i has ret pally, can I show you it?
As someone who’s healed on a grand total of 3 Naj’entus kills (not to mention a buttload of accompanying wipes), I may not be an expert yet, but seeing as my guild’s at a similar progression level I’d offer the following. I think on our first kill we did around 10.4k dps, so AC isn’t too low in that regard and in some cases exceeded that. It really is a fight about survivability and situational awareness. More dps’ers up and pewpewstabbing / more healers around to keep the dps’ers pewpewstabing = dead boss. That means spreading out enough to avoid the needle spine aoe as well as looting the impaling spines asap. Another thing we do that seems to help is to wear at least 9k unbuffed hp to give us a bit of a survival buffer in case of ankhing or combat rezzing. Healers might want to check out the new badge mace for that since it carries a big chunk of stamina as well as a ton of +heal.
And yes, resto shammies are good for this fight. Totems and chain heal aside, if they’re specced correctly they’ll take 10% less damage on the shield explosions (7650 vs. 8500).
Their dps was fine — dont look at the total, which incorporates so much “zomg we’re wiping” dps… which isnt reflective of what their guild is capable of. Look at the individual attempts — they typically have 6 people over 1K dps — plenty.
My guild went into BT for the first time a few weeks ago — and wiped 6 times on Naj. We went back to MH for 2 weeks and then on May 29th - we had this night:
http://wowwebstats.com/ksjyphepdrl2m
We one shotted Naj, Supremus, and 2 shot Akama on our first look at him (FYI BRK: 2 pallies for Akama make it easy)
AC — keep up the good work.
My shammy is lv 14 but give me a year or 2 and he will be ready to go =P
Naj’entus is an awesomely fun fight and I get to feel needed with my lovely Prayer of Healing. Stick me in a group with people, toss a quick Prayer of Healing before breaking the shield, and my group is good-to-go. We’ve found it to not really much of a DPS fight as much as it is survivability (8,500 health minimum and higher is preferred!) and doing the right damned thing at the right damned time.
For people having problems hitting that minimum health, try advising them to snag a couple of PvP pieces. They’re itemized poorly for raiding, but they favor survivability with the high Stamin and you can always throw more Stamina gems into slots to bolster your health. One piece can easily garner me a couple of hundred health and still keep me more than healing-viable for the fight.
Anything you can do to aleviate the healers and reduce the downtime required to make sure everyone has 8,500 health before popping the bubble helps a lot!
Man, I would so love to come heal for you guys, but I am on Thrall, live on the “Left” coast and cannot make your raids start times and most importantly, I like my guildies
Though don’t look to hard at my armory, I think I am logged out in my DPS gear.
Drat, I’m a SV hunter who applied…
Oh, well, guess I’ll be rerolling horde after all.
keep up the rebuilding …. it never ends ….
We had our first Anetheron kill last night, (Defiant of Greymane), so we are little behind you guys. I have zero experience where you guys are other than to say keep up the good work, you will get it!
Apparently that other Survival hunter won…who knew more than 1 would apply!
I promise I am fun and witty and even magically entertaining at times!
bring more healers over dps for new boss fights(most of them aren’t dps races anyway), you only had 7 as I see, and for this boss it’s pays off even more, because the quicker you’re able to top everyone off and throw the spine when he bubbles, the less he will heal in it and the further you’ll be from enrage timer, AND the less time DPSers will be idleing while watching at the bubble, it’s not a dps race at all
and for the one who threw the spine just because vent said so, get Grid and when you mouseover the throw-spine macro, do the raid a favor - check if everyone realy is topped, I can’t even imagine why would tank be so low, it’s the most important raid member to heal in any fight
DBM has a window pop up telling you who is under 8500 I suspect Bigwigs does too. In fact, there is at least one raid addon (perhaps bigwigs) that tells you that it’s okay to pop the bubble.
Yes, BigWigs also has the <8500 window… although mine did not seem to be working right IMHO.
May I suggest a rotation for the ‘locks to be fair… a couple of weeks or a week at being Affliction and then rotate to next Suc… er, volunteer. As most Warlocks going through the T5 contents would have been Affliction to begin with, they should readily have the gear to spec Affliction.
Not to sound overly harsh, but if the Warlocks are that against speccing for the good of the raid, me thinks you guys need to open up ‘lock recruitment some more.
=)
Dang. If my guild hadn’t just gotten rid of our resident annoying B@#%!, and I didn’t love most of the rest of my guildmates, I would see if I couldn’t drag hubby over to Drenden. He’s a lock, and though he respecs so often I’m amazed he still has more gold than I do.. he doesn’t have anything against affliction.
I don’t think my current guild leader would ever forgive me for leaving though..
DBM window is good for overall raid, but it won’t help with the tank, good entry level BT bear tank will have around 20k buffed hp, if you say the tank was at ~50%, that means 10k hp, that means no DBM windows saying that someone isn’t ready to receive bubblepop damage, you throw the spine, everyone (including the tank) takes 8k damage, tank is left with 2-3k hp and it will take a single blow from boss to turn it into a wipe
Err I heard your ubar guild was looking for a Protec Pally. Do i need to fill out an application too. Oh snap! You guys are Alliance and I only play for the Horde team. Ah too bad, I guess i wont qualify.
Whut, BRK, Drak isnt enough resto shammy goodness for you?
