We have no idea why, but we love farming Clefthoofs. Nagrand is easily our favorite zone, both Azeroth and Outlands, and those big, lumbering bulls make us happy.
The Dead Scar mobs cannot be kited. We can do the work, but they’re tied to their little scar-zone. Phooey. This evading-cr@ppola is pissing us off.
We’ve sharded all our pre-Kara gear, but our historical collection of stuff is still overwhelming. And it’s all soulbound. We really don’t want to blow 400 gold each on three 20-slot bags and just gain 6 slots. A non “Tier-4 Sharding Spree” solution eludes us.
Tonight is our first look at Black Temple. We expect no loot and no bosses down. We do expect lots of Ooohs and Ahhhs, though, so that’s cool.
We have 60 Badges of Justice and nothing on which to spend them, unless we consider getting that crossbow. We don’t want the crossbow, but can we turn our nose up at it once we hit 150 BoJs? Do we have a Gun Issue?
We know we have a Gun Issue. Should we worry?
Our next BRK Hunter-Guide Movie is going to be Void Reaver. We’ve got the material, just need to put it together. Solarian is easy, Al’ar will be quite difficult, but then all we’ll have left is Vashj, as we’ve not even seen Kael. It never occurred to us what to do when we ran out of bosses. Any ideas?
Our new 24″iMac with the 8800GT is crazy-fun. We so glad we waited to get exactly what we wanted.
How much gold does it take to make one quit doing dailies? We’re up to 10,200 and still try to knock out 12-15, four days per week. Why are we doing it? How much is enough?
For the first time ever, we saw the Hourglass of the Unraveler drop! Of course we lost the roll for it; enhancement shaman got it. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, our trinket-karma stinks.
What’s the most you’d spend on Spectral Tiger card? We’ve seen them on eBay, we’re drooling. We’re not gonna blow a car payment on one, though. This may turn into a poll.

I’ve got the nostalgia, retro gear problem for my bank spaces too. Especially my Lock (Tier 1 and Tier 2 still in) and my Druid and Paladin, who have basically at least Kara equiv. gear sets for all of their 3 respective specs. Throw ontop Arena gear for each.. and it’s no wonder why I’m probably the only Lock who chose Mooncloth over Shadowweave spec for tailoring.

I was all eager for that crossbow myself, carefully savin’ up my badges and counting down the minutes ’til I’d have enough, and then one day Big Bad Wolf whispered “Hey, I’ve got this gun for ya”. “No thanks, I’m gonna get the Crossbow,” I said. “No really, you’ll love this,” he said, and handed me Wolfslayer.
…he was right.
I love my gun. I had like 200 BoJs and I bought the Chestpiece because I wanted to hold on to my gun a little longer. It’s just that sexy.
The Gun’s days are numbered because I’m getting close to enough badges for the crossbow, and, well… it’s just better all-around. But The Gun will then be retired to a spot of honor in my bank alongside Sonic Spear and other gear that has served me long and well.

I envy your guild’s approaching “been there…done that” dilemma. Teamwork is beautiful to behold.
But what do you do when there are no more bosses to conquer.
For us horde it’d be no problem. We have an endless appetite for gnome genocide…and our undead brethren even get to munch lunch on em ( just kiddin ).
How bout attempting to 5 hunter heroics? Sounds like fun…..theoretically anyway….lol
I’m probably one of the few people that really, really loves the way the badge crossbow looks. But then I’m a troll huntress, and it fits our look pretty perfectly. And we get a free 1% crit from it that you get from guns, so you could probably rationalize sticking with the gun. And there’s definitely more cachet with an item from a ZA timed chest.
Re: hourglasses, I got the 3rd I saw drop. I lost the first to a rogue that struggled for 500 dps and the second to a druid that struggled for 300. And I swap it out on bosses because I use my assassin’s stone for mana regen and the badge trinket to make sure my trinket and TBW happen at the same time.
After you make vids for the SSC and TK bosses, start making them for BT and MH bosses? Seems the logical way to go.
First three bosses of BT are easier than Vashj and Kael. I suspect you’ll see bosses down. Of course, Naj hates us and won’t drop hunter loot.
I want the rocket card more than that tiger. I just think it looks cooler.

I have several bank slots taken up by the gear I received during the old PvP system, when I ranked High Warlord. I could never bring myself to get rid of them, given the amount of time it took to get them, and especially not now that I can’t sell them to a vendor.
Lame.

I’ve been farming for the Hourglass for AGES now. I’ve never seen it drop and heard coutless of “Oh, I thought you were with us in BM last night.. Btw the Hourglass dropped, it got disenchanted though” “Nope, I was washing my cat”
I have the hour glass i use the badge trinket, I have the x-bow I use the za bow (and my guild prefers when I use the kara bow i’m surv) the x-bow may be better for a BM hunter cause of the improved rate of fire from talents but imo I’m rather depressed that they couldn’t wip out a gun and a bow instead of lame x-bow that doesnt do anything for our racial talents.
Now when it comes to the hour glass here’s the reason why I find it inferior. In many fights to gain the most potential dps you have to time your CDs. I use a ton of speed up CDs and i can time these with the blood lust brooch which has a long effective rate (20 secs i believe). If it’s crits your after i’d suggest the trinket from the cards the one that ups your crit rate each time you dont crit.
I’ve seen those Spectral Tiger mount cards too. One of those cards above $50 is not worth it in my opinion. However, on a Shadow Priest, I don’t know how much different it would look than a regular tiger in Shadowform.
Though the turtle mount looks awesome, no matter how slow it is!
I wish I had as much patience as you do for dailies when I was still playing my 70.

Hey BRK, i just understand your feelings ALOT mate, it was really a pain to spend these 150 BoJ’s on that crossbow, since i’am a gun lover, i would have expected blizzard to make a gun version of that crossbow, but well they didn’t, and with a massive item like this one i couldn’t pass on the buy. The skin doesn’t bug me that much the main reason i just love gun is the sound of it
i wonder if sound modification is still possible in wow, i want to replace arc sound with gun sound ^^
On an other note this crossbow is very sexy DPS wise, nice stats / speed / damage, a very very good BM hunter weapon i would recommend it warmly, just hoping blizzard make a BoJ gun someday and maybe why not exchange the crossbow for free :p

I love the Xbow … that phhht! phhht! is much better than the bang! bang! IMHO. I have the Hourglass … lucked out on a BM run done just to help a guildmate get Kara attuned. Virtue is its own reward but a great drop is better. I wonder how many Hunters are decked out in all epics but still use the Hourglass?

It’s the best Beast Mastery weapon in the game until the Legendary Bow off of Kil’jaden. The speed is perfect and the base DPS on the weapon (talking tool-tip DPS here) compares to the bows that drop from Archimonde and Illidan.

hi there Brk, first of all good luck mate in BT, youl soon see that the first 3 bosses are easier than you think with some focus. As for you dilemma on the ranged wepon i suggest if you are not in a hurry to take a look at Supremus X-bow if you arent inclined for the badge one. I am using it atm ( as a surv i found it have a nice agy boost) but 1 of our best BM hunter uses it as well ( together with haste armor from bt/mh boses as well plus a few crafed) hes always the top dpser. Or yo could look at the arena 3 gun once the arena 4 set comes in.
Now about that spectral tiger mount , really, would you spend money on that? i admit it its cool, but there are other options if you have patience, like the death charger from baron run as a bm youl wipe the place in 30 minutes with no sweat ( ok the drop rate is very low , basically its the lowest of all epics) but hey if youre 1 lucky guy youl get it with a little patience ( im farming the place as we speak lol ) than theres the fun runs to Zul gurub , the tiger mount and raptor mount are cool too and pretty rare.

There are some things I can’t get rid of clogging up my bank, like my robe from the Emporer at the end of BRD, just to prove I made it through that damn dwarf spawn of death room before him!

We entered BT not too long ago so here are a few useful things I learned that may help you:
Bags: Don’t get rid of your T4 just yet…You will use it again (I’m not kidding) When you get to Mother, your entire guild will be searching for shadow resist gear. Take the T4 helm and just swap out the enchant/glyph to the one from Lower City for +20 shadow resist and Volia! you have a shadow helm with decent stats! You could also use other items like shoulders with void spheres and a shadow armor kit….etc. I’m sure you will be buying up green gear off the AH with shadow resist. Start now. And start farming Shadow Primals.
Trinkets: I was always having trinket issues. I purchased the Deathsworn Trinket after a few weeks in BT to replace my hourglass. And it did quite well for a time.
Bow: I feel some of your pain with that crossbow. I myself hate using gear that is “easy” to get. I did buy it and scope it because I couldn’t deny the DPS of it…however…i used it for only a few hours…..Archie’s bow dropped for me that evening…

Tres, ok the wife technically, got the spectral tiger mount for $90. We got a bonus from work and the wife ordered us a box of boosters from Amazon, Tres got the tiger and the goblin gumbo.

About gold - I thought I was bad sitting on 5000+ gold and still doing dailies. Nice to know the addiction doesn’t stop.
I got the badge crossbow. It’s ugly as sin, but worth the DPS.

Do Leo again, but one where you get Inner Demon at least twice. I want to see you get pushed a little!
Just started BT last night. We got the naga boss down, he dropped the stat stick (Halbard of Desolation) http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32248, a dps warrior bid and won it. It was a sad day for hunters everywhere (no, its not a dps warrior’s weapon).
One piece of advice regarding the naga boss. In addition to being on the ball 100%, you need to get two stacks of bandages (hvy netherweave), and use them immediately when he starts to bubble. If you aren’t below 8500 then don’t bother, but at least half the time, i was 500 hp below and bandage was on CD, and so was pot, so I died.
(Now i know there are the depleted crystal focus from Blades edge you can use, plus the super rejuv pot, plus…the things from felwood i believe).
BRK I went through the same problem with bag space. Then in one week I got the following:

I am with sparty. In fact thats exactly what happened to me, I got t6 helm, Right their on the spot de’ed my year old t4 level helm. 1 short week later I am playing games with well if I enchant x and put resist gem in this I am at 355 Shadow resist and I wear green ring in this slot i am 372 etc.
Bag space? I have none. Pretty sure I even gifted some random while shifting gems around in mail this week with a package of 4 blue gems.
Pve healing set, Pvp healing set,Haste set, 8 librams, 7 trinkets, 16 slots of ret gear, 14 slots of tanking gear, 12 slots of epic resist gear, t2 full, partial t3 in the dream that 1 day I will finish, toys, pets,consumables,bop gems. Bleh.
Have fun in BT, once you get a start, you wil find yourself making steady progress.

BRK– omg, I changed my mind. Guns are beautiful yes but this crossbow is ridiculous. I just got it last night and it whacked me upside the head with its awesome and then tossed me out to dry.

Ditto on the zone - I am hearthed to Garadar - and another ditto on the Clefthoofs.
But on general chat the other day, a brother horde was cheering about a Clefthoof drop. He had picked up the plans for the gyro balanced khorium destroyer.
Now I just knew those bulls had hidden facets; and this one was apparently an engineer when he wasn’t grazing. Good thing the guy got him because the bull was no doubt getting ready to arm ALL the clefthoofs with powerful rifles. I can just see myself heading there to do some relaxing skinning - then all of a sudden coming under rifle fire from half a dozen big critters.
