We’re Not Homer, But Who Is?

TJ » 19 June 2008 » In Raids »

As we sit here weak and weary
Another night of SSC clearing
Is under our belt and we are leary
That we will go insane.

We took out bosses one through five
And left no silly trash mobs alive
There is no place left for Vashj to hide
But we fear we’ll drink no champagne.

There is no challenge to be found any more
In putting Leo down on the floor
FLK is not but a bore
But Vashj, she makes us drool.

We have new raiders, we have new pride
In stomping SSC until the bosses cried
So to finish the job, we wish to stride
Back to Vashj and back to school.

It may take time, we may have to Wipe
There may be folks who whine and gripe
That their Tier 5 set is not quite ripe
But luck doth favor the bold!

We’ve killed her once, we shall return
That d@mn ugly naga we wish to burn
For Tier 5 helms we ache and yearn
With nothing else shall we be consoled.

Make the schedule, a new campaign
We’ll be there to bring the pain
BM Hunter DPS shall reign
The squishies are challenged again!

So to our GM and our raid boss
Don’t hold us back or give us noob-sauce
A flurry of bullets we wish to toss
At Vashj. For Glory. Amen.

(Note from TJ: I just post the stuff. I’m… sorry. I’m just really sorry.)

    @Sephran
All of your questions can be answered here:

Of course having BRK write the article would be better. But that might happen today.

This seems more like Poe than Homer. The rhythm and the first stanza especially are reminiscent of The Raven

  10. tego on June 19th, 2008 2:08 pm

    1, funny
2 you have too much time on your hands
    3 MORE air force stories

4 what is this hunter thing you are talking about?

    tego
protection, and sometimes holy paladin feathermoon

Nice job, BRK! I enjoyed your poem. I think TJ is just caught up in God’s sitcom too much to appreciate you, sometimes.

  12. kunukia on June 19th, 2008 3:19 pm

Yah, rhythm was like Poe, I kept expecting a “Quoth the Kitty, Nevermore!”
    You’re no Poe either however…

  13. Kinzlayer on June 19th, 2008 3:43 pm

    @stormy
I also felt that the rhythm is Poe-like as well.

    @everyone
    I like it.

  14. Mage1st on June 19th, 2008 3:46 pm

That was very, very ……. painful

  15. Fikkle on June 19th, 2008 5:06 pm

@ kunukia - While I was reading it I was thinking “Quoth the Dire Rave, Nevermore!”

Great stuff, keep it coming BRK!

  16. Fikkle on June 19th, 2008 5:07 pm

Oops, that should Raven, not Rave

  17. Rokisha on June 19th, 2008 5:38 pm

Don’t listen to the criticism, TJ. Your poetry was great. Keep up the good work!

If you think you can do better than BRK I’ve created a thread on his forum for just that purpose.

Get thee over to: http://www.bigredkitty.net/forums/index.php?topic=1638.0 and let the poetry begin!
