Don’t laugh, they did this in one of the newbie zones of FFXI. The zone is filled with bunnies that are like level 2, but there’s a rare bunny that spawns with the exact same model that’s like level 40 or 50. It won’t aggro, but god help you if you’re a lowbie and attack it…
Originally, in Asheron’s Call, if a mob killed a player it would gain XP … just like a player. And rabbits were normal level 1 mobs. So some players would let rabbits slowly and tediously kill them over and over in order to level up the bunny …
@Mania: Hahaha, that is awesome!
Actually, so is your comment, Kuroshiro. Hehe
/roflmao
Sooo glad I don’t work in an office, or I’d be finding that on Monday and making everyone wonder wtf I’d smoked before getting there.
And yes, both Mania and Kuro’s comments are win. They definitely need to do an April Fool’s patch one year where either the Druid thing or the ‘rabid critters’ thing happens. Regular L1 mob, but with a large-for-L1 HP pool and normal L1 damage. But if it’s the Druid one, he should shift out, kill you, then apologize, rez and heal you.
No more free skinning level-ups for YOU!
ROFL!!! My pally is leveling in Nagrand now, I’d better be more careful where I Consecrate!
No, no
You are thinning their numbers so they don’t starve themselves to death.
ROFL…BRK, you sir are my hero….I’ve driven the Mrs nuts Aimshotting bunnies and squirrels randomly….and I always have a valid excuse, just like you did,
cheers
So why didn’t you use the Holy Hand Grenade?
Also . . . when is the BRK hunter approved post about pet talents going up. And saying that it is currently in testing and liable to change doesn’t let you get out of offering up and opinion to your loyal readers on this one because it is confirmed. And while the details may change the core concept is on its way with Wrath. So sayeth Nar.
Laughed so hard I had to stop drinking coffee in feal of dribbling it down my shirt.
Monty Python with the killer rabbit- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_of_Caerbannog
Too funny envisioning BRK (or any player) with a rabbit gnawing on his/her neck as in the Holy Grail.
It’s all hysterical hunter goodness BRK!!

Ditto what Narian said, about your opinion post on pet talents. Oh, I see a poll! Not quite a post, but at least you are paying attention…
Also…if anyone ever has killed and skinned real bunnies (I have), after skinning, they look very like newborn infants (I have had them also), so…rabbit is good food, but by God, it is hard to cut them up for the pan…
There’s a tiny guild on my server (Feathermoon) named “The Bunnies Drop Epix.” The first time I saw that guild tag, I laughed almost as hard as I did reading this. Awesome.
Yeah I noticed the poll after I posted. =) The main philosophy I have behind wow is that we kill small furry critters for our own personal game. As a standard practice I lvl up skinning by running through Goldshire killing cows and bunnies.
The only time I played Asheron’s Call, way back in the beta, I tried killing a cow while I was running from where ever the heck I started to the next town.
That cow kicked my ass, and then that crazy naked player adorned in a foppish hat kicked my ass, and I stopped playing.
Waaaay back I started playing UO. The first thing I tried to kill was a rabbit. It killed me. Ever since then, I’ve had a “kill first” attitude towards rabbits in any mmo. I’ll go out of my way to kill rabbits in wow =P
