Our First Wordpress 2.6 Post

BRK » 16 July 2008 » In Raids, WWS » 13 Comments

We’ve upgraded and all that jazz, and need to make sure this place is still functional. So we’re gonna do a pic and a few links, etc.

Here’s a WWS snapshot of last night’s Nalorakk kill, our guild’s fastest ever. (Except for a really dumb wipe on our way to him, we would’ve had our first bear-mount drop. /whine)

Oh, and we’re trying out a blur-technique instead of our standard “black block-out” of the people’s names. Do y’all have a preference? Can you still tell what classes are in this raid with us?

Its still not that hard to see but if u wanna do it diffrent:

I like it better, I can finally compare your guilds classes to my guild’s classes when I look at similar WWS reports.

Great job and did you get the 3 chest at least? or did the wipe throw all that out of wack?

I like the blur effect better, so I can see most of your class composition for your raids. =D

The problem with blurring is that whilst it’s almost impossible to work out what the names are, you can work out both the approximate length of the name and the types of letters used (by looking for the stems.)

For instance, I’m fairly certain I’ve worked out who the priest is from this and the Armory. If you really do want to anonymise the logs, best bet is to use a solid block of colour, with the same length for each entry. That said, why not use the anonymous WWS logs?

No problem, i could tell fine.

BRK was you in the shaman group and if yes, was your shaman twisting? agi/WF?

How about a ZA timeloot post. Best tips, for bearhungry people like:

    -no birds on first bossevent
    -shortcuts
    -jump thru hats
    -waterwalking

So BRK gets his hairy friend.

with that group make up, unless everyone is t6 geared, dont expect to get a bear any time soon.

Bear mounts are easy if you know how.

    1. 2 healers MAX
    2. MC the scout for the birds so they dont fly up
    3. MD to Tank and bloodlust early in each fight
    4. Try not to wipe
    5. If you wipe, you can still do it
    6. Watch out for scouts… they slow you down
    7. Jump through huts to the 4th boss
    8. 4th boss takes us less then 3 minutes to complete
    9. Bring pots but your mana batterty should keep your healers pretty high (unless they die.)

    10. AND MOST IMPORTANT – Watch a bear run on youtube… It might sound lame but little things can make the run soooo much easier / quicker.

    and 11. I haz a Bear cuz I’m 1337sauce.

Did I, by any chance, miss the explanation as to why you obscure the names of your guildies? All it would take is a cursory armory search to find out the real names (well, real WoW character names) of the people you raid with, BRK.

If you wished to put flowers all over the names go for it. Just as long as we can see the information. To me whatever is easiest for you to do to keep the posts coming.

My group for bear runs is only two healers, usually priest, druid, shaman, choose two. Definitely doable for the first 4 bosses, and we do hex lord/zul’jin with the same group (pally puts on healy gear for zj).

We’ll have a bear as soon as we can get the same group in there two times in a row. Definitely worth going 2 healers if they can hack it.

Hello, I’ve been told by Tuna that you used to experience database issues with Wordpress, is that so? How did you fix it? Because I’m experiencing issues ever since I updated to 2.6 (a couple of months ago) and it’s really frustrating :(
