Not Dork. DORC

We need to raid! So we made a post on the Drenden forums about it.

Well, the summer vacation bug has hit Aetherial Circle pretty hard. We’re not raiding again until the end of August. I would certainly like to continue MH and BT progression three nights per week, but my guild cannot support it.

How are you all doing in this area? Is your MH/BT guild not able to get a raid going nowadays?

I’d like to see if we can get some Drendeneers who are in the midst of MH/BT content into a 3x week raiding schedule, without dropping our current guilds.

Just thinking off the top of my head, Aetherial Circle can provide:

two holy pallies
two resto druids
one prot pally
two bm hunters
one shadow priest
one holy priest
one fury warrior
one arcane/frost mage
one resto shaman
one feral druid tank
and possibly more.

Would you be interested in making an Drenden Outcast Raiding Consortium to run Mount Hyjal and Black Temple 3x per week? You’ve got to have 3x Tier 5 to be geared for this stuff, too. I’m not looking for a crew to “explore” these instances, I want to beat them. AC is 4/5 MH and 1/9 BT, (6/6 SSC, 3/4 TK). This is the experience level for which I’m hoping.

If we can get 30-40 people who want to do this, it could be fun.

im on a whole ‘nother server, but we’ve maintained 1-3 raids a week but have cancelled close to 10 since summer started… kind of sucks, we’re takin our first walk into BT on friday, 2/5 in hyjal etc etc. and our progression has halted, one of our main tanks and 2 top BM hunters left for a sunwell raiding guild w/o this issue, which didn’t help 1 bit.

Hi, I’m a demonology warlock, I’d love to raid with you, Kitty doesn’t list me because he doesn’t like it when he doesn’t top meters. I come with a guarantee to make the other raiding warlocks feel like noobs that they just got beat by a FG spec.

    Also still LFW, BFHI…

I’m sorry to hear about the summer slump. I’ve been through it before (pre-BC), but luckily, the guild I’m an officer in has been lucky enough to not have canned too many raids (4/9 in BT.) Here’s to hoping back-to-school time is as good…

This issues is one that seems to plague Wow in the summer months and although I can understand and hope to get what you wish. Warning, there maybe consequences. Sometimes people have done this, and theres a fair few number of you wanting to do it, some might see the extra raiding and downing. Not “exploring” of these raids as something they would rather have than “AC is 4/5 MH and 1/9 BT.” You AC guys seems like a fairly tight knit bunch though just thought I’d add my two cents.

Same problem for Order of the Rose Croix on Runetotem EU. We won’t start raiding again until the 29th.

Until then, Kara grinds (and alt gearing) and Zul’Aman for kicks. The silence is staggering.

At least the server has the Nightcrew channel where all kinds of raiders meet up and PUG places. I think the best so far has been up to Lurker in SSC and Solarian in TK. Maggy and Gruul are farmed every week.

Yeah, BRK, Welcome the summer to end all summers.

Good luck though, all guilds will need it.

Yeah, summer and the looming expansion, I’m guessing, have done a pretty hard number on Bleeding Hollow alliance guilds from what I’ve seen. We were struggling in May and June, but a recent recruiting drive got us back on track.

We’re 5/6 SSC, 3/4 TK, 4/5 MH, and 3/9 BT – not really the highest ranking guild on our server, but getting there. A lot of our top tier guilds have dissolved, as well as many of the top ten. It’s sad to see; luckily we’ve been able to keep going.

Yeah we have the same problem with Odyssey on Eonar. We had an officers meeting last night about having all of us (the officers) leave the guild to join another just for raiding. We just don’t have enough ppl to raid. We do have enough to do Kara but anything above that it really hard to gather ppl in guild and have to pug Gruuls and Mags and haven’t been to the others, yet.

I just hate to see all of us to leave and leaving no one behind to watch over the little ones, but that’s guild life I guess. At least the new guild has Void Walker on farm :) and work on getting into SSC and MH. Maybe BT by Christmas!

Cheers and Glk finding ppl for the rest of the summer BRK

Nice post. Summer and beta testing has pretty much killed my guild with core people taking breaks and our GM/MT and our Main Holy Paladin playing lots of beta. Good luck to you in your efforts to raid more.

Not only the summer slump, but the WoTLK slump is clearly in effect as well.

Sorry BRK, I hope you can finish up your raid goals!

We’re not quite a high up on the progression ladder, but my guild is feeling the same pains on Korialstrasz. Doesn’t help that we lost a tankadin, a rogue and a mage to ‘parental intervention’…come on folks, they’re improving their hand-eye coordination and multi-tasking skillz! Fortunately between guild partnerships and friends lists we’ve been able to pug a 25 man 1-2 nights a week (lolz, got Rage down to 44% with most folks having only downed VR once and never seen SSC) MH trash farming for the, um, well….boredom relief. /sigh

  12. Justyna on August 6th, 2008 1:02 pm

Oh, oh. Holy Priest is that me??? I am sure there are other guilds in our same situation who wouldn’t mind teaming up. I know I wouldn’t mind.

After running into similar issues on our server, some people got together and created a cross-guild channel. It allows us to do things that our guilds are either burned out on or don’t do for other reasons. In some ways it is sort of like a PUG channel or LFG channel EXCEPT that since they are people who we raid with 5 nights a week, we know how to work together. We use forum space on one of the guilds servers that supplies a lot of the people. But since we all still belong to our original guilds, we will be ready whenever our guilds decide to start anything. Not sure if you want to go that far or not. Just another idea for you to look at.

Well is will be hard, what i recomend is to lay back and relax this month and start thinking in something else, beacause wow isnt everthing, you could maybe use this time in other things

Lol just seen a new Hunter blue posts on mmo-champion. Basically, Hunters in WotLK are gonna be freaking amazing+. The + cause we already are /flex!

Yeah, this summer has been tough. We have 50+ members, but can hardly manage to get more than 17 online at once. We had 23 at one point last night so we 22 man’d High King (a healer’s modem crashed right before the pull) and 23 man’d Gruul. We even made our first attempt at Magtheridon with 23 people, mainly to see what the fight was like. We managed to get him down to 39% before we wiped and people started bailing out for the night. I hope attendance picks up once summer draws to a close.

We do something similar over on Emerald Dream. An organization called Emerald Raiders sprung up and gathers people from various guilds to do some raiding together. It has worked very well and I have met some great new friends in the process.

Best of luck during the drought..,

  18. SamuelTempus on August 6th, 2008 4:58 pm

That stinks that you’re not raiding right now. I completely understand. I’m the guild leader of a guild on Mug’Thol, and We’ve tried to get into and through SSC/TK 3 times now, only to have people leave and skip ahead to other guilds starting MH/BT. The worst was after easily downing VR, we spent two weeks trying to down Solarian and the wipes there were enough for 5 of our best core raiders to jump ship and head over to one of the higher raiding guilds on our server; that was devastating, causing a cascade effect of people leaving. There seems to be a huge burnout in the game and there’s a definate gap that has opened up between tier 4 and 6. It appears that most of the people that wanted to raid tier 5 have either skipped it entierly by moving to a t6/SW guild, or given up and won’t return until lich king, if they come back at all.

    Good luck over on Drenden,

    SamuelTempus

P.S. — Moghann and Snuggles just hit 70 this weekend, and ventured into kara for the first time yesterday. It was a blast proving your point about pulling MQoSRDPS with terrible gear. At least I’m hit capped :)

  19. Chesko on August 6th, 2008 5:08 pm

Yeah, our guild hit a snag due to summer breaks recently and we lost almost half of our core raiders to BT raiding guilds. We had just started hyjal (got Anetheron down to 9%) and then boom…collapse. It was mostly people that whined and complained, so gchat is far more pleasant now haha, but it still is sad to see so many guilds going through it. We’re going to rebuild, so we’ll see…perhaps I’ll post something on the realm forums about this as well.

    BRK

Be careful in what you wish for….

We too hit the summer slump and had another guild approach us with the same problems. The result – a run through SSC last night Hydross/Lurker/Leo all down all farm bosses for us – not so for the other guild. What happens but on Leo – Tsunami Talisman drops – YAY as I don’t have it yet. What were last nights loot rules – we rolled!! I lost the Talisman to a hunter that has NEVER downed Leo – a boss we have downed more than our share of times. I have DKP sitting waiting to spend on an item that is the only reason I haul my a** through that horrid fight and I lost it on a roll. My GM found out in /o chat (yes I am a guild officer and had not been informed of loot rules before we went in) just how mad I was.

  21. Aboo on August 6th, 2008 7:06 pm

    @Peeved Hunter

How else do you propose to do loot rules if you’re combining guilds to do it? Why should your guilds DKP trump that hunters right to that trinket? He participated in just as much of the fight as you did, right?

DKP is nothing more than a way to force people to show up to raid. You were pugging, you can’t use a DKP system in a PuG.

  22. pointnshoot on August 7th, 2008 8:37 am

Well for the most part our guild on the Aggramar server has can-x-ed any 25 raids …sad too we were making great progression. So we are takeing this time to crunch the guild into more of what we want for X-Pac.
We will more than likely just stick with 10 mans for the most part.
Like you we are a casual raiding guild and alot of us are RL friends and family so we try and keep the members 25+ for reasons of our own. But on a good point the guild is getting tighter nit during this slump and it gives the rest of us with family a chance to chill with them more so take it in stride and roll on.

  23. 914phreak on August 7th, 2008 10:57 am

we’ve had to cancel several, another guild completely collapsed, so their members were glad to come over to our guild, so we’ve resumed raiding 2-3 nights a week

  24. Peeved Hunter on August 7th, 2008 11:11 am

    @Aboo

This guild appraoched us as a merger – they would be bringing their full membership in to our guild. This week is a set of trial runs to see if it will work out.

Yes I think our DKP should trump their DKP – similar to a new raider joing our guild they are given “x” amount of DKP to start and earn it the same way I do – by showing up, by downing bosses, etc…..

We did similar with a small guild that didn’t want to merge just wanted to see the T5 content – those members were given the same DKP as starting raiders and earned it the same way. And happily spent it when they wanted to – we have even had a few of their members come join us.

The thing is 90% of our raiders have the loot they want off of these bosses there are little things that we are waiting for – like the Talisman for hunters – a new raider with us would have to spend very little DKP to get any upgrades. Meanwhile the upgrade that people are waiting for will go to the highest bidder. This was a boss that is farm for us – it was a first down for them – do I think I should have got the Talisman – yes I do – the other hunter also got the T5 gloves as everbody else eligible for them already had them.

Is life fair? No it’s not – not by any means. But I think the loot rules should have been handled in a better manner.

Would you take a ZA geared Pally or a ZA geared Hunter?
