Hunter Glyphs Preview
The generous and sweet-smelling data-miners at WotLKWiki have some info on the first stirrings of Hunter Glyphs. Shall we gander together?
This list, while completely beta in every sense of the word, kind of sucks and blows. How many of these glyphs would we really pay for? Six, total?
Obviously, this project requires some BRK Magic.
Glyph of the Beastmaster – Enables a pet under the effects of Bestial Wrath to chew through a paladin’s Bubble, a mage’s Ice Block, and keep tracking and attacking a Vanished rogue.
Glyph of the Marksman – Enables a hunter to dual-wield ranged weapons, decreasing the range to 15 yards.
Glyph of the Survivalist – Covers the hunter with a fine sheen of Vaseline, decreasing the hit-chance of movement-impairing effects by 75%.
Glyph of the Kiter – Allows a hunter to shoot over his shoulder.
Glyph of the Trapper – Allows a hunter to have two traps down at the same time.
Glyph of the Outdoorsman – Increases a hunters Stamina and Agility by 10%, but only when outdoors.
Glyph of the Bayonet – Allows a ranged weapon to be used as a melee weapon.
Glyph of the Gopher – Enables a hunter to dig a hole and camouflage it, from which a hunter can pop-out and attack enemies.
Glyph of the MacGyver – Enables a hunter to modify his armor using worthless, gray items, increasing their armor value by 10%.
Glyph of the Devilsaur – Enables a hunter’s exotic pet to mirror-level with the hunter.
Glyph of the Friskies – Enables a hunter’s pet to live off the land and never need pet-food.
Glyph of the Depleted Uranium Shell – Fires a radioactive bullet/arrow at the enemy that ignores all armor and causes him to decay from within and take 2500 damage over 10 seconds.

Glyph of the Circus Tamer: When you /dance, your pet also dances.
Glyph of the Fur Ball – Your feline pet hurls a revolting ball of fur at your enemies, freaking them out.
I love how much more customizable this is going to be. And I’m not talking haircuts. No more cookie cutters. Sweet.
Love the MacGyver one,
Want an A-Team one,
where u can make a new ranged weapon from junk
or where u can summon a Black van mount. (with the red stripe ofc)
I want Friskies and beastmaster.. i know a pally who’s bubble needs to be chewed on!
Glyph of the Marksman name change — Glyph of the Gunslayer.
Rawr, I am the Gunslayer, fear my dual-weilding, bullet-spewing wrath!
How I wouldn’t mind combining Marksman, Bayonet and DU Shell. If only… but it would be nerfed before you could type OP
Glyph of Rambo (Major Glyph): Enables a hunter to dual-wield ranged weapons, decreasing the range to 15 yards increasing their ranged attack haste by 60 percent. On top of this
Hunter’s Aimed Shot gives the target “Shiit! You are about the explode!!” debuff that explodes the target for 20k damage and can also be used on Siege Weapon and causes Heavy Siege Damage!! Finally the hunter can expend a single shell’s powder to cleanse the hunter of all bleeding effects but suffers 500 fire damage in the process.
Glyph of The Janitor (Take Out The Trash) Increase the number of targets Multi-Shot can target to 6. Also Increase the damage and decrease the CD.
Those are pretty underwhelming really. I see a couple there I wouldn’t mind having but certainly wouldn’t pay excessive amounts of gold to obtain. They’d be nice perks on an armour set or on a weapon or something.
I like BRK’s a lot a lot more. I totally need Glyph Of The MacGuyver. Though Varfu’s Glyph Of The A-Team is of course far superior. Everybody knows the A-Team beats MacGuyver.
Your Right BRK that there is not much there but do recall that we can only have 6 at a time 2 Major, 2 Minor and 2 middling.
I like (or should I say not hate)
- Aspect of the Viper: bonus Mana regen as if you have 15% less mana then you really do.
who can’t use some extra Mana regen right?
- Aspect of the Hunters Mark: increases the attack power bonus of your Hunter’s Mark by 20% .
Tie in some of the MM talents were you increase damage because you have the mark on them and the tracking of the right kind of critter on and you have a real nice + damage going on.
- Steady Shot: increases the damage dealt by Steady Shot by 10% when your target is afflicted with Serpent Sting.
sure you need a Serpent Sting up. But I always have one of those up unless I have the Viper up. but a 10% increase in white damage is nothing to sneeze at.
what I wouldn’t do for that friskies glyph!
You forgot glyph of the endless quiver….
*Depleted* uranium is no longer radioactive. Just saying. It’d do something like ignore armor.
Glyph of the MacGyver was dead on though.
Glyphs of flaming/frost/disease shots would be cool.
@Curtis, you’re dead wrong about cookie cutter. It will come down to each role (pvp/pve) having the preferred cookie cutter glyph layout in addition to the preferred cookie cutter talents. People experiment to find the maximum configuration for their prefered role, post it somewhere, and anyone who wants to play at their maximum will adopt that spec/glyph setup – whether they simply copy it off a forum or do the experimenting on their own. That’s not to say it’s bad, it’s just the way it is with a game like this.
@Klinger
It should be Glyph of the Gunslinger.Stephen King, FTW
Glyph of Macguyver is all win.
How about…Glyph of the Net Gun: All shots have X% chance to snare the target for X seconds.

Glyph of the Depleted Uranium Shell, hell yeah. Sign me up for one of those.
Deadrabit, they scrapped the “normal” (middle) type of glyph, so it’s now 3 major and 3 minor (cosmetic) ones.
Edit: Plus the one extra that Inscribers get (not known what this one is yet, but it should be a major one, IMO).
Maybe instead of two traps at once, a more reasonable, lesser cooldown.
GLyph of McDonald’s – you no longer have to feed your pet, but he gets fat and loses strength/speed.
Glyph of the Frag – Allows you to attack and kill your team mate that runs and draws Drek/Van out of their keep.
Additionally, Glyph of the Depleted Uranium Shell should cause the hunter to perma-die in 15-20 years due to second-hand radiation.
Glyph of the Friskies would single-handedly kill 25% of Hunter QQ.
Imagine never having to feed your pet again, or bringing your pets food with you everywhere.. no more weird diets (Fungus? Like I’m made of mushrooms?!?)
I like the ones like ^^ .. less tactically advantageous, more simple upgrade-y
oh and you people with your “radioactive depleted uranium” watch way too many Sci-Fi movies o_O
“DU is .. very weakly radioactive.”
“Glyph of the Beastmaster – Enables a pet under the effects of Bestial Wrath to chew through [...], and keep tracking and attacking a Vanished rogue”
This is the single best reason to get my hunter in more PvP.
Rua, both tenacity and ferocity pets get a talent that more or less does away with having to feed the pet. Cunning is (I think) left out in the cold here, I’m afraid. From what I’ve read over at EJ the ferocity one beats the tenacity one, though that was a couple of patches ago so numbers might’ve changed.
(Details: the ferocity talent is a %-proc on all attacks to regen a bit of happiness and health, whilst the tenacity one gives more threat to growl and makes growl increase happiness.)
“Glyph of the Depleted Uranium Shell – Fires a radioactive bullet/arrow at the enemy that ignores all armor and causes him to decay from within and take 2500 damage over 10 seconds.”
I think that it should read “…2500 damage every second, for 10 seconds.”
I love Glyph of the Gopher and Glyph of the Kiter…
But i’m sure to take Glyph of the MVP – Fires a battle res shot into a dead raid member resurrecting them, 3 min cooldown…
Also, I have to give 2 thumbs up to Glyph of the Hunting Party – Pet takes on 50% of other hunter pets AP in raid/party within 40 yds, stacks up to 5 times…
