Two Hours, Forty Six Minutes for Two Screenshots
So here’s the deal.
Uvuros is immune to Freezing Traps. Thus, you, Mr. Hunter, have to survive against him alone during your Tame Beast spell.
We almost did it. We slapped on our PvP gear, put a Frost Trap between Uvuros and ourselves, and took 13k damage from him. We had 300 health left, only three seconds left on the Tame Beast timer.

So we thought it was just as well to get a Spawn of Uvuros instead.

Core Hound Notes
1) He stomps like a Devilsaur/Rhino.
2) He attack-roars just like Uvuros and a Molten Core Core Hound.
3) His green-flaming back leaves a trail as he runs, it looks awesome.
4) His flame-attack is the coolest thing any hunter-pet attack, period.
5) He is a Ferocity Pet, he does nice damage
6) He will probably not out-damage a similar-level Devilsaur, as Monstrous Bite may be the #1 DPS pet-spell in the game, we’ll see.
7) Bestial Wrath Core Hound FTW. Giant, red, flaming, drooling, chain-link-breaking, two-headed dog? It totally works.
Cats as so, so SO nerfed. Prowl?
9) With Devilsaurs, Rhinos, and now Core Hounds, there won’t be an unblocked mailbox or battlemaster in the entire game.
10) We need more stable slots.

You should totally raid Naxx with my guild and I on Murmur once premades become finalized… I mean sure we’ll be in PvP– EPIC PvP gear but I think we can handle it. (10 man version btw.)

I can no more. Hunters have gotten sporadic love from Blizz, and it seems that they are just pouring it on now, and it is just emotionally exhausting.

And I’m certainly content to wait – I’ve been waiting for tameable Ancient Core Hounds since patch 1.0. What’s another couple of days?

So, is the Kurken a Core Hound or what? I know those Eyeball Dogs all over the place are demons, but I’d kill for a two headed snow demon thing. The lines will be hell though.
The kurken is indeed a core hound. It looks even better than the green on IMO.

One would think this would mean The Beast would be tameable now.
Neat. But this is starting to feel a bit too gimmicky. Maybe all hunters should have access to these pets, and the 51 point BM talent could be something less generic feeling. 51 points spent to train another type of slightly different (mostly cosmetically) pet?
They already lowered the bonus pet talent points from 5 to 4, so it’s lost some luster there as well. :/

I’m sold. And I .will. get mine from The Core. Everyone will be getting the easy green ones, but I want the real deal.

I think you ought to let Blizzard know about the serious bug that they forgot to give cats a worthy skill. They must have put in prowl as a placeholder until they got a kick ass skill ready, and then forgot. /Bawl. I want to keep my cat!!!

Omen is a Demon unfortunately. However The Kurken uses the same skin as Omen and is a beast, so can be tamed.

Oh god, do I know your pain, oh god oh god oh GOD do I know your pain. I’m convinced that a Tauren hunter is THE SINGLE MOST DIFFICULT hunter to level, for one reason.
You know that baby hunter quest that teaches you how to tame beasties? Yes? Well, tauren have to tame a Swoop.
What do swoops do?
They SWOOP… which knocks you down, interrupts your cast. You only get five charges on the taming rod, you have no freezing or slowing trap, nothing to do but take it in the face and when your charges are done abandon the quest and take it again to get another taming rod and hope to god it doesn’t knock you down again.
So yes, I know your pain. Perhaps a newbish question though, is it possible to get a tank to keep its attention while you tame? Just a thought.
Ya might consider grabbing some inexpensive fire resist gear from the AH and maybe throw in a flask of chromatic wonder for a Uvuros retame try. No practical purpose, but just to have done it.
More Stable Slots:
Yes I could not agree more that we need additional stable slots! Come on Blizzard we worked hard for some our pets like my Rake that has already nerfed and have had since I started playing and picked him up on day 3 after the original release! Besides they all have different attributes and there are better pets for different instances. I know there are at least two new pets I want from the expansion, no make that three and I don’t want to loose my Rake. Come on Blizzard how much work can it be to add a few (4 to 6) more stable spots. I would even pay for them like extra bank slots. I know Blizzard is always looking for ways to get gold out of the system, here is a perfect opportunity.

And he’s back to being immune again. Harder mode… ^^
Anyone out there have any tips or suggestions on how to snag a core hound from MC? I want to try and get one on Tuesday if all goes well.
i wanna know where to get a giant core hound, has this been fixed by blizzard?? i saw not 2 days ago a core hound 3x the size of tamed core hounds wtf happened?!?!
