Noticed a little error about 2 min in. Invigoration only works off pet special ability crits so cobra reflexes would have no effect.

    Absolutely correct, our mistake.

    BRK! Dk’s aren’t on PTR =P

Let the music play—Freddie rules ;)

Thanks for all your hard work.

    Dk’s aren’t on PTR

They’re not? That’s just dumb. We must be getting the beta and the PTR mixed up in our wee noggin.

Great podcast brk we loved it. But what about some love for the cunning pets. Nothing really said on them and no real movies. I am curious about them. Also not alot of love for some of the ferocity pet. But we love all the movies and podcast info on the tenacity pets.

No offense, but you sounded very tired. I think you need to take a break from grinding…

But anyway, great podcast. I have two questions though…

    1. Why is everyone praising the wasp so much? I tried one out on the PTR and it just seemed like your typical DPS pet to me. True it could be annoying against a rogue, but all a rogue would have to do to negate the special effect is cloak before the vanish… Of course, I must admit, I didn’t give it as much of a chance as I probably should have considering the flapping of its’ wings was slowly giving me a migraine… What am I missing?

    2. More of a technical question. Where would I have to go to find recordings of all of the previous podcasts? I never got to hear episode two or three..

    Thanks, BRK!

Just wanted to thank you BRK for a great podcast, i love it. Listen to it in the car and you often have me in stitches, please please please keep doing these. I cant wait for your comments on freezing arrow shot…. i think its lame and so do most other hunters ive seen writing on it, but the truth comes from only BRK. Thanks again Daniel!!!

It seems like when my voice clips get used, they’re always the ones where BRK goes “……WTF…. uh, listen, go click the banner… ” (and get away from me!)

Has any math been done on Volley versus Explosion shot? I’m fairly sure Explosion Shot does more damage and thus be better to go with a SV build with a gorilla if your going to AOE grind. Essentially a build like:

    http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=cZ0xVZxc0i0cIhxhA0su
    or
    http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=cVbhZZxc0i0cIhxhA0su

Depending on whether or not your pet is taking to much damage. I know a nerf bat got tossed at Explosion shot but it should still be doing the same damage.

PS. Pretty sure the PTR is closed now at this point for new users.
PSS. What did you mean by having Death Kniggets heal your pet? Blood DK’s who specc’ed into Blood Aura? Might be a little tricky. Considering the pet’s DPS won’t be that high for it’s effect to really be a big help.

Nice, BRK, thanks for all the good work you are doing. I am lazy, and I depend on you figuring all this stuff out.

By the way, I am loving LWing now that there is some better stuff at the Beta trainer!

    Lol, Rhino bowling.

Hmm..The Gorilla huh? I guess Ill give it a try in the PTR

  17. Lee on September 28th, 2008 10:42 pm

Awesome podcast BRK loved it. I really love all the movies and podcasts you do. Can never wait for next one.

What will the next “Add” audio comment be about? Would like to record a line…

  18. Priest on September 29th, 2008 2:36 am

With Aspect of the Viper and Volley, does Volley count for mana regen with AotV? Does each “arrow” in the volley that comes down and causes damage cause AotV to tick?

Bah, you didn’t use my commercial submission.

That’s it, I’m not making you a motorcycle. *glare*

You missed one other Core Hound you can get. There’s a white one in the cave of Azuremyst Isle where the Dreanei start. Of course, since he’s so low level, the biggest challenge is having to wait in a long line to get your turn to tame him (and praying the PTR doesn’t crash while you’re taming him).

One other fun thing to do on the PTR is get one of these new 51-point pets and then hit Deadmines and just put the pet on aggressive and see how long it take for them to do a full solo clear (Core hound takes approx 20 minutes). Ya, you can probably do it with a regular pet, but it sure looks cool to watch a big fire breathing two-headed dog go nuts….

“Druids… the Vanilla Ice of Warcraft” !

  22. Gorgor on September 29th, 2008 1:15 pm

Hey thanks BRK, I never thought about the pet hit/crit being really low for Invigoration to be worth it for mana back. I’ll test it out, but i think it will be best to avoid until I’m 80 and raiding again.

  23. Scorny on September 29th, 2008 4:28 pm

Your movies and podcast have finally convinced me to roll a hunter. Thank you. I’ve pretty much settled on a Draenei Hunter, unless I hear good reasons to use another race… The question! Which pet(s) are best to level, after patch 3.0 lands on live? Your podcast (if I remember correctly) mentioned that Boars are best currently, but which are best in 3.0?

    Thanks!

  24. Berg on September 29th, 2008 4:47 pm

    Another great podcast. Thanks.

  25. Traz on September 30th, 2008 5:37 am

Another great one. Thank you BRK. I listened to it on the way to work and can’t remember any of my journey! : )

Very good point about bears. I have a 70 bear and now I’m not so sure that swipe will be such a good multi-mob ability… I wish there was a better exotic tenacity pet for AoE.

I loved the Freudian slip when you said “Spirit Beast” by mistake. (I won’t pester you by asking for more Spirit Beast information or, heaven forbid, a video)

  26. Phor on October 1st, 2008 8:38 pm

Regarding soloing Uvuros at level 70 (this is PTR, not beta): I’d like to see your video on that one.

Regarding getting your “baby Core Hound” in MC: Again, I’d like to see your level 70 solo video.

I get the feeling you haven’t done any of this. Both of those core hounds (Uvuros and Ancient Core Hounds) will eat your face if you go in with no healing, wearing T5 gear.

Podcast 5 is… lacking in credibility when it comes to BRK’s challenges at the end.
