The original title of this post was going to be:
“What We’re Thinkin’ Is…”
That the new Aimed Shot may not save our bacon in arenas, but it certainly won’t hurt.
That Readiness in the Marksman Tree will make a lot of 50/21/0 BM hunters giddy.
That Surefooted got nerf-hammered. Proper.
That if it weren’t for Chimera Shot, there’d be no glory in the Marksman tree at all. It might be high-DPS, but we might as well equip an epic slingshot now, for all the excitement that tree is packing.
That there’s more fun to be had in the top four BM talents than the talents in the other two trees combined.
That this stupid Spirit Beast no-spawing cr@p is really pissing us off.
That we’ll hit level 78 before leaving Sholazar Basin, and still have three or four zones we haven’t touched.
That the economy on a beta server is so out of whack, it’s best not trying to worry about it and just have fun. We blew 2500 gold on a belt socket engineering thingy and another 1000 gold on a gem. Why the h3ll not, right?
That we sold two Riding Crops on real-WoW at full-price and don’t know how we did it.
That the new Emboss feature of Leatherworking is cool for one use, but then a tremendous letdown as we can’t do anything else with it.
That we’re going to sell millions of armor kits! And we know where to farm the mats! BUWAHAHA! /heehee!
That we may chose to level from 70-72 doing nothing but Gorilladin-farming for leather, skipping questing altogether. /ponder
That buying a Mammoth is getting to be a lot like shopping for a new car; we’ll only be able to hold out for so long.
That Brad from Warcraft Millionaire is doing his customers right by promising them free upgrades to the WotLK Warcraft Millionaire Edition when it comes out, two weeks after WotLK goes live. Buy it now, get the upgrade when it’s ready? D@mn right. /nod
That Blizz should give all hunter three free talent respec’s so we can learn just what the {bleep} they’ve done to us. If you’re not playing with the talent calculators right now, you need to be.
That there are some very talented hunter PvP players out there who have gone to extraordinary efforts to document our class’s weakness in PvP. We look forward to their analysis of the new hunter trees, using the same diligence they did previously. Keep up the good work fellas; don’t slack off now.
That the Beast Mastery talent is as much for “show” as it is for “go”. But what’s wrong with a little “show”?
That people don’t understand that allowing the denizens of Ironforge and Stormwind to see 500 gnomes running through the streets is really half the fun of a Gnaked Gnome Race. Tram is Go.
That there is very little that can stop 500 Gnaked Gnomes from taking the boat from Booty Bay to Kalimdor and raiding Ogrimmar, should that decision be reached by committee. /Dr.Evil-finger

That Sholazar Basin is really Un’goro without Devilsaurs, and they are sorely missed.
That Borean Tundrean is the Desolace of WotLK and that’s certainly not a compliment.

That if we had a floating city, we’d take it somewhere warmer, with nice beaches and a tiki hut.
That not being able to fly in Dalaran really means, “not being able to take off anywhere one wishes”. Landing is no problem, wherever one wants.

That Blizz removed the ability for bear cubs to be tamed as hunter pets, and that it didn’t come a moment too soon.
That getting an epic tabard for discovering every place in Northrend is not all that epic. /yawn
That, since getting our new gun in the beta, the thought of going back to our xbow on real-WoW makes us physically ill. /boom-boom!
That Rake had better get some serious dev-love, or it’ll be worse than not getting a new cat-spell at all.
That a Ferocity pet with a Focus dump is a mean SOB, regardless of pet-class.
That we’re filled with a sad nostalgia now that Gorilladin can eat bread.
That when they meet Pitch, Humar-owners are going to whine like little children being forced to watch 60 Minutes while eating spinach ice-cream.

Well, not to put a damper on your giddiness but…
Aimed Shot now shares a cooldown with Multi Shot – still won’t hurt but not that brilliant either. Also, Readiness does not reset Bestial Wrath/The Beast Within so 50/21 loses quite a bit of its appeal. And finally: no, nothing wrong with show but I’d rather show better DPS than a gigantic Rhino. Matter of opinion I guess.
As a Humar owner, what’s up with Pitch? Are the skins not identical?
They look identical. Well, I only have one seventy with Humar, and everyone will know it is Humar right up until level…77, is it? Then everyone will assume it is Pitch, and you know what? Who cares…
I know you’ve gotta have sponsors, but I tried that million gold link, and that page spams you with way too much junk! Popups + “Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page”, “are you sure you want to close this chat window”… etc.

I think not – Humar (aka Steinbeck with mois) – is his own man (well cat I suppose) and Pitch can go whistle.
The 50/21/0 build has been tested and doesn’t work. Readiness won’t finish the cooldown on Bestial Wrath,
Cats need Claw upgraded to Mangle.
Now.
End of story.
And they need to ditch Rake and give us Rip as a finishing move for boss fights. After your cat drops 5 mangles, you get to Rip.
It would be like having your own little kitty drood.

Saw the new talent calculator and as a devoted surv hunter i’m rather displeased READYNESS IN THE LOW END OF MARKS TREE and if this wasn’t insult enough lets lower the CD on it by 2 minutes???
What is a surv hunter lets see a hunter that require’s less hit rateing cause of being balanced on ones feet …well not anymore now its a low end marks talent as well. I feal insulted and violated as one of the more unique hunter builds and may just have my shamman be my main.
What’s wrong with Borean Tundra specifically? Is it just the look, or is it the zone/quest design?
scathatch.. you’re complaining that a 41pt talent was moved to a 21pt talent (different tree but still easily accessible) and that a tier 4 talent’s +hit was moved to tier 1 (different tree but still really easy to access)
.. all the big SV hunters I’ve ever seen put at least 20 in MM anyways.. not to mention Explosive Shot doesn’t look all that bingo.. after you get past the flash of “OOOH SHINY SHOT!” Besides Explosive Shot doesn’t really feel like a pve talent, I can’t see using it in a Raid unless it was one of those AE encounters and we’re not that great by comparison.

Just letting you know that the belt socket is made by blacksmiths. Keep us in mind for your future needs, it’s great that we have another salable item; most of my blacksmithing profit preBC used to be from mithril spurs.

It’s unknown if it’s bugged or “working as intended”. Considering it resets every other hunter ability that requires a pet active (including Intimidation if I remember right) it would make sense to include this. I have yet to see a blue comment on it.
Speaking for myself, I can’t stop playing with the talent calculators but I’m never 100% happy with what I put together. There are just too many variables and things I can’t test yet.
Any chance of a BRK post on what build you’re settling on now that you’ve had several levels to try stuff out? It would be appreciated, I’m sure!

@flaime – I /cry when I saw the news on the baby bear, oh well.
Flaime – you can still tame adult polar bears, they only made the cubs untameable.
Also Rua, Bestial Wrath is the ability that effects your pet (The Beast Within is the talent that “procs” off your pet receiving the buff), it “sends your pet into a rage”, which by its own words right there states hunter interaction, not your pet enrages, but -sends- your pet into a rage. Technically it’s the hunter that causes the rage by it’s definition, thus why many feel it’s a bug.
I’m having a hard time justifying the 51st point in BM, except that I know Devilsaurs are the #1 DPS pet.
So if I want to raid 51-point BM, I have to run a Devilsaur or lose significant DPS? Bah, I say! Buff some other pets!

Has anyone here actually bought that gold guide? I signed up for the free (teaser) emails; and so far I haven’t seen it teach me much at all. I’m kind of curious if anyone here can confirm if they thought it was worth it.

I cannot wait to get into some of these goodies, both as my pally and my hunter who is closing on 60. at the same time I am glad that I did not get a deta, Like you I would probably found a nice toy for my pally, and been sick at the thought of going back to my current weapon. you are the man

Interesting you say that, I’ve been playing around a lot with the calculators and have had trouble coming up with a BM build that I’m satisfied with. I think I delve to much into it and “waste” points there that could be spent somewhere else.
And then their is the problem with all the variables. How often will I be critting? My pet? How much health and amour will my gorilla/bear/tankpet have? Will my current mend pet be sufficient?
So many things to test.

BRK, can you confirm the current price on the mammoths? The link you gave says it sells for 5000g, but elsewhere and in the thread on that page I am seeing quotes of between 14000g and 20,000g.
For many many months, BRK.net worked night and day to keep gold selling ads our of our Google ads. We had 200+ banned IPs and URLs and the stupid ads would still get through.
Want to get a bunch of hate mail? Have a gold-farmer sneak an ad onto your blog. The “GOLD FARMER AD, YOU TRAITOR!” emails deluge immediately.
So we ditched Google ads altogether, to provide a gold-selling-free zone, ’cause that’s what the readers want.
We have used Warcraft Millionaire, it works very well. It is not a gold-selling site; it is a teaching tool. We have never had anybody say, “BRK THAT SH!T STINKS ON TOAST!” but obviously no product is perfect, and not everybody is going to praise something unanimously.

I’ve read every gold guide I could ever get my hands on, nothing in these paid guides offer anything above or beyond what can be found in general forums, gold making blogs or other free sites. I for one say “THAT SH!T STINKS” be it on toast or any other wheat based product.
